What is this horrid fascination with the idea that generic = horrid? I see it in every facet of todays youth. The moment an anime becomes well known, most of the fans who watched it for the start suddently hate it because it's "generic."

I know, everyone says something is generic simply because a lot of people like it! I say this all the time to my online friends who are fans of shit like naruto and no real good animes and the are always like 'stfu the shit you watch is generic' I wish to show them the irony of what they say one day.
