Well they did explore but in most episodes they just stayed in the main town.

Holy crap, I'm back. After a very quick transition to college, I've started getting back on more regularly.

I don't know what Blood+ you were watching, but Blood+ was fucking badass. Loved that anime, I don't see what complaints you can have with it. Only thing I found bad about it, was the fact that Saya seemed very VERY weak at times, and it's not much fun to look at a weak main character sometimes.

Yup, a mediocre series in a mediocre genre based on a mediocre film.

My 1/8 scale Hazumu and Ranma 1/2 OVA boxset arrived finally, and both were well worth the money. The postcard set that came with the OVAs was a neat but sorta useless treat (I'd never bother using them).

You guys are crazy, Blood+ was the second best series in it's genre (Second only to hellsing)

Vampire anime is an almost universally shitty genre, the only two series worth a damn in it are Hellsing (because Kouta Hirano is a genius) and Vampire Hunter D (epic as fuck movies).

Vampire anime is an almost universally shitty genre, the only two series worth a damn in it are Hellsing (because Kouta Hirano is a genius) and Vampire Hunter D (epic as fuck movies).

From the looks of it the whole vampirism thing is secondary to the romantic comedy bit, but I do hear that there's some epic vampire content in the series as well.

I'm not too big on slice of life stuff (there's often far too much treacly sentimentality to make it seem even close to real life anyhoo), so there's a 52,000,000% chance I wouldn't be all that interested in it.

Also, I've once again forgotten to pick up on Mad Bull 34.....it's only four episodes and I was enjoying it so I have no clue why I'm procrastinating this badly.

I'd have to agree with Gendo on the Blood movie sucking. I watched it, and honestly, the only good part was when the guy got killed with the shovel.

But, Vampire Hunter D has to take the taco of vampire movies. They just give you this dreadful, sad feeling, like there really isn't any hope of ever winning.

Hellsing is an amazing vampire anime. Yet if I had to choose a different one to watch, I'd pick Trinity Blood. It may not be the best, but it is decent.

I didn't really enjoy the first Vampire Hunter D movie.

Bloodlust was okay, it had great artwork to it, but the story was a little lacking.

The first D movie was really good story-wise, but the animation (to me at least) got really cluttered at times. When a large amount of monsters were on screen, the lack of "good" animation sorta hurt my eyes.

As for Karin having epic vampire action....I don't think I'd go that far(though I'm only around episode 16, so you never know) but there is a lot of blood. And some annoying prick that thinks he's a musketeer from the old days that's scared of blood, but is always doing these fancy fights. Yeah, there is more romantic comedy than Vampire stuff in there....and I think it's pretty entertaining so far.

For the longest time now I've been playing Ikaruga. I know it's not anime related but it would be interesting to see it in manga or anime form. I really enjoy the radical designs for the ships and the characters. Not to mention it has quite an epic sound track and the story background is pretty good.

Ahh, I see now. True, there are plenty of mecha with chatty dialouge. How long have you been into anime, and are there any horror anime that you can recommend? I've been watching some action, romance, and absurdest-comedy anime, but I never truly got to see a real horror anime.
