It's at least a bit less pointless than Lucky Shit.

Plus, emphasis was on the other two series.

Fuck, scrounging the internet for JJBA merch. Found tons I want, but the prices are wild. 9 inch Jotaro statue for $8.99? Very yes. 7 inch Dio/The World two-pack for $75.50? Fuck no.

To make matters worse, the DVDs are out-of-print, so eBay is my only option there.

Probably gonna buy the Jotaro and Dio statues off OrderAnime, since those combined plus shipping will only be around $35.

Am I the only one who finds changing the names of shows like that somewhat pathetic?

I mean, saying a show is bad is one thing, but actually actively insulting it, and calling it names, as if you hate its very existance, rather than its content, just seems kinda worthless.

Lucky Shit is a 4chan meme, trust me, I normally don't stoop that low. I can't recall ever changing the name of a series I'm disliked in the past.

I tend to hate both the very existance of it and its content with series I dislike.

Criticism aside, I will likely give the series a second chance when it ends since the animation impressed me and there were a few funny moments with the Gamers clerks.

4chan meme? Oh dear god!

But how did that become a meme? "Lucky Shit" isn't even a clever thing to say.

Oh look, look, star and shit both start with S, I'm so clever!!!!

It seems to be getting somewhat more eventful as the series goes on.

Like it's actually getting its footing or something.

The main problem I have with it is my extreme dislike of having to wait a week to watch each new episode, a dislike which has mostly caused me to stop watching television, and just wait for shows to come on DVD.

Nothing said on 4chan is clever.

All of the memes, even the funny ones, are incredibly witless.

"HOW COULD IT? HOW COULD IT EVEN DARE TO EXIST UNDER MY IMPECCABLE TASTE?"

If I had magical powers, I'd probably abuse them purging things that bore, disgust or annoy me from the entertainment world.

That or use them to torture people I hate, like Dennis.

What's really the story of the show anyway? Or is it literally just a series of conversations about everyday life things and pop culture?

That's what I tend to do, except with House, I followed that week by week during the third season.

Anime on G4 airs five nights a week, so I also follow the occassional series that catches my fancy as well.

Yeah, but at least the funny ones have something to them, rather than just a simple changing of the name of a show in order to insult it.

Honestly, if you started calling it Lucky Fart it would still be more clever.

If I had magical powers, I'd probably abuse them purging things that bore, disgust or annoy me from the entertainment world.

If I did that television would be a hell of alot more bare.

What's really the story of the show anyway? Or is it literally just a series of conversations about everyday life things and pop culture?

It's just a show about a few somewhat odd teenage girls going through high school.

It's basically the same plot as Azumanga Daioh, except with largely different characters and more of an emphasis on the going ons outside of school.

As it goes on, its seeming to get a bit slower on the whole referencing random anime and manga in a way that only people in the know would understand and just having the idea of them as part of the show.

True, like FUCK YEAH SEAKING, which is far better than all this Magikarp failfaggotry.

I doubt that, but point proven.

That'd be a good thing.

Hmmm, sounds infinitely more tolerable. At the same time, I find "people, y'know, doing stuff' sort of shows annoying. Azumanga worked because it seemed so fresh and original, probably because it wasn't packed with all the references. Reliance on pop culture gags gets right on my nerves.

Another thing I must say is preventing me from giving Lucky Star a chance is the viral marketing and incessant prattle about it all over the internet. Everywhere I go I see screencaps from it, and none of it amuses or interests me. Endless conversation about a series that I never found particularly interesting to begin with just makes me lose more interest.

That's why I'm glad I only ever hang out here, where get all the anime talk I can stand. Posts are actual multiple sentences and the "Anime is for fags/Anime sucks" are at a minimum.

This place also occasionally brings up good anime that I haven't seen/heard of.

I need to get back my Slayers Try, so I can see the "evangelion parody" in episode 23. I've shown my friend some of the OVAs and he wants to see more of them. Hopefully one day we can do a straight through watch of one or more of the seasons.

Well at least fart almost rhymes with star, as opposed to shit.

That'd be a good thing.

Meh, it'd be kinda annoying to turn on my television and find out the next show on is in 3 days.

The thing I like about the pop culture gags is that I don't understand them.

It makes me feel good about how little I really know about anime.

And I do sometimes find the assorted conversations explaining about Japanese culture sort've interesting.

That was...
A) A movie.
B) Not a very lengthy movie, compared to a television series running weekly.
C) Filled with enough interesting discourse on real-life issues to make it watchable to those who do not obsessively follow pop culture.
D) Made by Kevin Smith, automatically making it awesome.

On top of that Clerks has a more defined plot line then "people talk about stuff".

* Clerks spoilers*

A disgruntled wage slave is called in on his day off, his friends and the customers annoy the piss out of him, his attempts to flee are either thwarted or decidely unadvantageous to him, his love life becomes complicated, he gets into a fight with a fellow wage slave and (depending on which version you saw) he either locks up and goes home or gets shot to death in a robbery.

*End spoilers*

That's why I'm glad I only ever hang out here, where get all the anime talk I can stand. Posts are actual multiple sentences and the "Anime is for fags/Anime sucks" are at a minimum.

There's a version like that out there? Awesome! That would be such a trippy ending. And ironic, cus they were talking about "either shit or get of the pot" and if he was shot to death he would shit himself.

Why do you think here is better? Because we are a thread, not a whole forum? Good moderators? The nice gold/black coloring, instead of the light blueish gray? My awesome leadership skills?

Yep, comes with the "Clerks X" boxset, disc two.

It's a longer, funnier version of the film. Sadly, the picture quality is pretty weak and some of the music is different.

The whole "being a thread" thing is probably what works. It's a bit smaller and more friendly a community.

Same thing will happen with naruto abridged, and the rest of the abridged series. They will find some way to turn it into a law issue.

Yeah, I heard about that.

It always sucks when you get a great series let down by a shit ending, or an ending that came about due to the show being cancelled.

A terrible ending is alright when it's somewhat conclusive, but when you feel like there should be more to it then it just leaves a bad taste in your mouth.
