Also they talk about the Projectile X before the ending, so it wasn't something that just appeared at the last minute.

With Bleach, up to the end of the Soul Society Arc it did have a lot of the whole "gaining immense power during every battle" and Ichigo going from having little power to captain level in around a month was a little much.

But then the Espada show up...and he hasn't beaten one yet. He lost to Yami, then Grimmjow, gained his Hollow mask powers, but lost to a one-arm Grimmjow, then gotten beaten way down against Ulquiorra, and now he is going against Grimmjow again.

Chad got some new powers and took down one of the arrancar, but was completely defeated by one of the Espada, who didn't even have to try. Ishida and Renji worked together for a large attack, but in the end it did NO damage to the espada.

And who knows what's going on with Rukia...

Well, the Naruto movie was terribly mediocre. Fancy animation and some decent fight sceenes, but it was done in by treacly sentimentality, a dislikeable bitch of an original character, and some inexplicable settings (the incredibly modern city especially felt out of place with the oldschool villages and ninjas). A solid 5 out of 10.

The Island Anime meetup was epic, though. In fact, it just ended about half an hour ago. First we stuck around for a few presentations from Viz Media (plus a little cosplay contest), then we left to go to Sydney Games (who have a glorious 1/8 scale Yomiko Readman for $49.95), spent a few hours at Jamal's appartment and then came back to my place for a while. The first convention of '07 is gonna be on July 15th, and I cannot wait.

Also, not a single person asked me what Naruto character I was, in fact, a few folks recognized I was Jotaro.

Which one? The third one? I don't plan to ever watch it, but I've seen the 1st and 2nd.

That one had some really slow parts. Probably the best moment was the train that fired off all those kunais. The second one was way better...mainly cus of Gaara and his siblings. Though the endings for both movies were surprisingly similar.

Normally at this point I would make a review of the story, characters, art, animation, etc based on my initial impressions. However, everything about this show so far can be summed up with "Holy shit."

I've worked staff at two cons and gone as a smelly attendee at another. I have been glomped, and I have glomped. Something about the Scottish accent makes American women like me. Glomping is fun. Especially when it's you glomping man-faye.

Holy shit would mean this is one of the most incredible anime's I have ever seen. Normally I can pick out flaws in the show, but I cannot in this one. Yet. There's finally something out there that I don't have cause to hate in some way.

Death Note is a series without any major flaws, and even the minor imperfections are hard to be concerned about due to the overall awesomeness of the series.
