Quite a lot of it is predictable, yes, but the point is that you get one hell of a kick out of watching things get destroyed with big attacks and plenty of explosions.

To me, it doesn't matter too much how predictable the outcomes are. The real questions are how it is done, how everything fits in together, and at what cost.

With Bleach, up to the end of the Soul Society Arc it did have a lot of the whole "gaining immense power during every battle" and Ichigo going from having little power to captain level in around a month was a little much.

But then the Espada show up...and he hasn't beaten one yet. He lost to Yami, then Grimmjow, gained his Hollow mask powers, but lost to a one-arm Grimmjow, then gotten beaten way down against Ulquiorra, and now he is going against Grimmjow again.

Chad got some new powers and took down one of the arrancar, but was completely defeated by one of the Espada, who didn't even have to try. Ishida and Renji worked together for a large attack, but in the end it did NO damage to the espada.

And who knows what's going on with Rukia...

Well, the Naruto movie was terribly mediocre. Fancy animation and some decent fight sceenes, but it was done in by treacly sentimentality, a dislikeable bitch of an original character, and some inexplicable settings (the incredibly modern city especially felt out of place with the oldschool villages and ninjas). A solid 5 out of 10.

The Island Anime meetup was epic, though. In fact, it just ended about half an hour ago. First we stuck around for a few presentations from Viz Media (plus a little cosplay contest), then we left to go to Sydney Games (who have a glorious 1/8 scale Yomiko Readman for $49.95), spent a few hours at Jamal's appartment and then came back to my place for a while. The first convention of '07 is gonna be on July 15th, and I cannot wait.

Also, not a single person asked me what Naruto character I was, in fact, a few folks recognized I was Jotaro.

That one had some really slow parts. Probably the best moment was the train that fired off all those kunais. The second one was way better...mainly cus of Gaara and his siblings. Though the endings for both movies were surprisingly similar.

Death Note is a series without any major flaws, and even the minor imperfections are hard to be concerned about due to the overall awesomeness of the series.
