It was like Nietzsche on acid meets romantic comedy.

Characters use LSD to go on weird mind trips, this strips away the erroneous parts of themselves, so they can become the super-self within, and use the super-self to amusing relationships?

In short, pure fucking brilliance.

My head hurts.

I only wish it was that simple, the plot is far more of a mindfuck than that.

My head hurts.

I watched it whilst high at four in the morning, so I feel your pain.

All of the sequels are vastly inferior, and the sixth film is a travesty in my eyes.

Just like if it has an excellent sound track.

It would always end up with the criticism "That movie was awesome/terrible but it had an excellent/crap sound track".

It can never escape it.

Well yes, but the soundtrack was at very least passable.

It would always end up with the criticism "That movie was awesome/terrible but it had an excellent/crap sound track".

I also do that quite often, but there are some films where music is irrelevant to its quality.

It can never escape it.

True.

As long as it's not overbearing, it's okay I'm sure.

I cannot name a single movie in which music is entirely irrelevant. Perhaps doesn't matter all that much in the movie, but not at all; that's a stretch.

Tod Browning's Dracula, seeing as there is only one instance of music in the whole film (the opening credits).

There are a few others, but for the most part you are right.

The absence of music in that film made it less interesting to watch, in my opinion.

It all seemed much more boring without music.

Thank God for the DVD reissue with a great added score by Phillip Glass.

I didn't mind it, mostly because it makes the film a bit creepier.

Maybe it was the fact that it was at like 2 in the morning that it came on, and I was feeling tired. You kinda need something to hold your attention at that point.

Imaginably, hard to watch a film that sedate at such an hour.

It just doesn't make sense.

You'd've thought that watching Dracula late at night would enhance the viewing experience.

Oh shit, this is really un-anime.

Uh.. Uh... Dracula...

Good for you. I learned that taco bell, soda, beer (x6), more soda, and candy mean I'll be doing my laundry at five in the morning. Which isn't too bad because only me and my buddy were up. We were both doing laundry, and we were both playing WoW.

As for the musical score argument. If the music does not complement the movie well, it will ruin the experience.

I got Armitage: Poly Matrix at the mall today for $7. I haven't seen it in a year or two, so I hope I still like it. The English dub had a pretty damn good cast for an anime. Elizabeth Berkley and Kiefer Sutherland.

I have officially reached the point that I'm so desperate for anime, that I'm picking up Naruto from where I left off a few years back. This is a sad day.

I'm also getting desperate, but not that desperate.

I'm in the "re-watching episodes you've already seen a million times" phase, even though I still have yet to watch my Saikano DVDs.

How do you get desperate for anime?

Oh no.

You're addicted.

You better join the AA.

But yeah, whenever I run out of anime that I want to watch (if I'm wanting to watch it at the time), I generally just try out some live action shows.

That sort've attitude has led me to watch 2 and a bit seasons of Oz pretty recently, and also the start of Wonderfalls which I'm planning to continue.

Well, supposedly it goes downhill after the second season, so I'm a bit reluctant to get back to it.

Wonderfalls however, didn't have the opportunity to go downhill.

Bloody TV networks cancelling all shows I might like.

Yet crappy reality shows, shows about rich spoiled bitches and terrible soap opera's keep on going.

Television is like negative entertainment, it swallows the good television shows, and spews out the bad ones, which the eager masses clearly have no problem digesting.

It irritates me so.

Curiously enough, I decided to watch part of an episode of the newest Pokemon series on Cartoon Network the other day, or week, or something.

I'm surprised that they actually managed to make the voice acting worse in it for later seasons, Ash's voice made me want to claw out my ears. Almost.

Also, the Pokemon have just gotten plain silly.

They sort've work in the game, but when there's a giant lizard climbing along the side of a skyscraper fighting a giant crab/insect thing which is using the updrafts to fly somehow, it just gets a little too crazy.

Ever seen Invader Zim? That is an awesome show and from what I've seen it is relatively cheap to buy. There's always Scrubs. Problem is now I've seen the episodes so many times I'm begnning to stop watching it. They need to start showing season 6 shows regularly, since it just finished. Me and my friend might do a Redvsblue marathon...maybe when the 100th episode comes out. That would be about 6 hours. Have you also started watching Death Note? The anime is close to being finished, though I don't plan to watch it anytime soon.

I have all of invader zim on DVD. I don't want to re-watch anything right now, I want something I haven't seen before. I have seen the first 5 seasons of Scrubs, and don't watch it anymore, because I tend to channel Dr. Cox when I do. I've only seen the first season of red vs. blue, so that's a lot of catching up to do. And I do not have the means to obtain Death Note.

Why not Desert Punk? That's a show where the "hero" is mean and an asshole, but gets the job done. He is also a pervert, who takes on an apprentice solely because when he sees a picture of her hot mom, he hopes she will grow up to look like her. They even have an episode where some goody guy who is a super fighter teams up with him...and wants to help children, while Desert Punk just sells the children at auction and sells him to some gay guy. He also takes down a giant tank with a fucking shotgun!

And there are DVDs of it. I got mine at Slackers.
