I will make a point of asking Jim for a lend of Cyber City: Oedo 808, because it was pretty goddamn awesome.
Are we the only 2 people here who have seen it?
Also, I hate Benten or whatever his name was. painted nails and lipstick = not cool.
But Cyber City was still cool. MOLCOS is one of my favorite anime antagonists.

The dude im getting it from doesn't really even like anime,so i was surprised that he had a copy of that.I can't wait to get it,since it's far more mature and darker from Rurouni Kenshin.
seriousness and blood =/= maturity.
I still haven't seen Samurai X, though, so I wouldn't know if it is more mature. just felt like pointing it out anyway. I really want to get all the DVDs, though. I already have the complete Rurouni Kenshin collection.

Yeah, that essay had some problems with it...
Also, some may think one series is copying from another when they are both simply based on the same myths or historical events/people. Anime is often influenced by mythology, religion, and history, and some people don't catch the references.

Seriously, I really don't like fantasy anime, but Lodoss and Slayers are epic.
eh, I thought Record of Lodoss War was okay, but nothing great. However, I have much hope in Slayers (only seen the first 4 to 6 episodes). I've been meaning to watch it.

And Miyazaki films aren't series, so you can't compare the two.
Miyazaki has done series and/or miniseries before.
