If you did the joing requirements, then the list hasn't been updated yet. Cus it isn't like YOU can ADD your OWN name to the list....

The freewebs or the wiki list? Do not trust the wiki list.

Actually, I did the joining requirements, and my name WAS on there back when I did them.
Now it isn't.

What's the link to the Freewebs one?

I didn't even know we had a wiki list.......
Okay, I just started watching Death Note, and I'm 10 episodes into it.
It's an interesting show, but I have a question:
Why is it that L reminds me so much of Batman?
Kuro - Puting the 'Kur' back in 'inkurable disease.'
Death Note= <3
It's one of the few animes with a serious undertone to it that I actually enjoy still.

Not to mention spawning of many memes at the same time.
In before "PARTY @ MY HOUSE!"

Serious undertone?
The shows style practically attempts to scream out the dramatic/horror etc. aspects of it.
But seriously.
Slight spoilers:
L is so Batman. He keeps to himself, he's the greatest detective in the world, he doesn't want to reveal his identity, he hangs around in the dark lots, he has an old butler type of guy etc. etc.
Of course he is definately not as cool as Batman.
End slight spoilers.

Phhh of course a serious undertone, it shows how the minds of certain types of people work and actually goes fairly in depth. Of course I'm probably over analyzing it*sigh*.

You could just cut lawns. My brother does that and depending on what he does and if our dad helps him he can make 50 to 60 bucks on a lawn. I don't know how well you get paid in your area of the country though.

That reminds me, I need to get back into watching Death Note, I left off at episode 19.
Why is it that L reminds me so much of Batman?
Because L is Bruce Wayne but less refined and more obsessive in his pursuits.

If anything, you're under-analyzing it.
"Serious" isn't an undertone here, the series bleeds seriousness. It is the textbook definition of serious.
I undertand your point, but mayhaps a better choice of words would make it clearer to others what you meant.
Death Note really is not the happy anime. The whole idea is people's idea of justice. Light thinks everyone should die, L thinks all criminals who are not caught should die, and they both are extreme in what they do. The only good guy in Death Note would be Light's papa, who sees the gray areas no one else does. Wonder what a season of fillers would be in death note land.....

Death Note is very good, but I would advise reading it first before watching it.
Was one of my favorites.
Also, what would you do in real life if you had a death note?

Probably pretty awful, unless they did like a brief arc covering L's previous investigative exploits or flashbacks to Soichiro's earlier days on the police force.
Or they could do it JJBA style and cover the stories of previous Death Note users.

Kill terrorists....
The main problem with the death note is you have to know the person's name, so if someone goes on a shooting spree and is caught/killed...then what good is being able to kill them? It would only be useful if someone went on a killing spree, got away, and his name was known AND a picture of him was given.
Can't let anyone know about it though, cus you'll get killed...just look at Charmed, X-Men, and Captain America.
If I had a death note I would not touch it. I want to go to heaven ya know.

But Purgatory is cool, I mean, we've got Vince...
But what about Hinata? I heard she dies in the next manga of naruto, because in a last ditch effort to get her with naruto fanboys charge at sakura....and hit the wrong target.

Damn straight.
Not only that, Vince is also tied to an epic-level in-joke.

Remember, "What happens in Purgatory sucks balls."
SO IT WAS YOU WHO ENDED THE RANMA ANIME! YOU BASTARD! I WILL KILL YOU IF I FIND A DEAD BODY IN K-FED'S CLOSET!

Indeed he did, but he was great at making nice little crafts and such.
Tuesdays are still dull without him.
through those rough time's you still had Sweet Akane........sweet indeed.
Uh-huh, and I still do.
Maybe this tale of living in a white existential Hell has a happy ending...

Yep, it was completely my fault, and it felt good.
Also, turn caps-lock off, for God's sake.
Lol, sorry, its afternoon where I am. Its amazing how caps locks are like screaming. But why did it feel good to kill ranma? No ranma= no akane.
At 4/20/07 03:42 PM, uhnoesanoob wrote: But why did it feel good to kill ranma?
It's sort of hard to describe with words....
Have you ever seen Tod Browning's 1931 classic Dracula?
No ranma= no akane.
Hahahahahahahaha, hahahaha.
No.

What a miserable little pile of "must-watch-before-I-die"...
But enough talk, have at the conversation!

Best segue into a Castlevania reference ever.
Yeah, so I'm totally gone finish up this series this weekend. I've only watched 3 episodes of it so far.
Gendo, akane has been saved by Ranma many times, and without him, there will be no akane. In to the closet!
At 4/20/07 03:54 PM, uhnoesanoob wrote: Gendo, akane has been saved by Ranma many times, and without him, there will be no akane. In to the closet!
But how many times was Akane being in trouble because of Ranma in some way, either directly or indirectly?

Without him, who's to say she'd have ever ended up in any of those situations?
Face it, my divine logic > yours.
Oh Doctor, you are forgetting a chinese girl named Shampoo. So, after Shampoo learns Ranma is dead, she would kill Akane. Don't mess with the best.
