Mmm, yes. Quite.

People are very judgemental around here, thusly, if you act like you've got more intellect than they do, you are rarely ever put down or questioned.

And only get screwed after one trips over their own statements (common with falsified INT, so to speak). Kind of an online Gyakuten Saiban effect in some ways.

Goddamn, get some self esteem and learn not to take everything so seriously.

If a little backhand like that brings you down that much, you've got to buck up.

Ya know, talking about anime is a good way to keep people from making fun of you, because they are too busy talking about the anime or making fun of the anime you are talking about.

And if I wanted to talk about my feelings I'd grow some ovaries..cus that is where emotions come from.

Anywho...The Grim Adventure of Billy and Mandy is an awesome show, and they quote/make fun of animes a lot, like the whole DBZ spoof episode and watching an anime spoof version of Billy and Mandy on tv. Scar even referenced G-Gundam when he got into his giant robot suit and yelled "take my love,my hate, and all of my anger!" ..or something to that effect.

Oh, great series. I remember one episode was a huge pardoy of Akira.

I have to watch it more often....

I find the seiyu jokes most interesting, especially for the long-time fans.

One instance being a random shout of "Hikari ni Naaaaaaare!!!" in Keroro Gunso. Or even the SRW W advertisment featuring Hiyama.

Define 'weird'.

adj., weird·er, weird·est.
Of, relating to, or suggestive of the preternatural or supernatural.
Of a strikingly odd or unusual character; strange.
Archaic. Of or relating to fate or the Fates.
n.

Fate; destiny.
One's assigned lot or fortune, especially when evil.
often Weird Greek & Roman Mythology. One of the Fates.
tr. & intr.v., weird·ed, weird·ing, weirds.
Slang. To experience or cause to experience an odd, unusual, and sometimes uneasy sensation. Often used with out.

[Middle English werde, fate, having power to control fate, from Old English wyrd, fate.]

In all seriousness, Billy and Mandy has a few mature gags and sexual innuendos, I believe that's what he meant by "weird"

Way to be vague, God forbid you include details about dates and locations for those of us who do not live in your immediate area or within proximity of the convention.

Indeed, and I just gotten around to finding the crimson red tie needed to complete my suit to resemble Black Jack. And best of all, I won't feel funny wearing it when doing presentations in Uni or at formal events.

A shame that the ones in UK are hardly worth going to (eww at people's taste in costume making).
If I find temporary work placement in Tokyo, however... COMIKET = WIN

Even though I've got no idea what my costume will be this time.

NG Anime Club meetup with everyone as their respective character seems like an interesting devent to look forward to. XD

Pretty much.

Mine would be a problem since Akatsuki robes Are very big and im not to tall.

Well, a mini-sized one should be okay.
Then and again, the Akatsuki known in Naruto are not known for their tailoring (I think).

...

I have also (miraculously) gotten my hands on Black Jack: Futari no Kuroi Isha after so long. Unlike its recent TV adaptation, its epicness is kept despite the significant art difference compared to the first movie (and OVAs).

Oh ho, looks like the topic will slowly become a Cosplay-related discussion soon.

For me to complete the Black Jack look, I will need to wear contacts. I just hope I don't have to do any actual surgery in the middle of a convention (I have no high level medical experience, unfortunately).

Indeed, although I might give the whole Anderson idea a pass. The costume is too pricy to put together, and I don't wanna bleach my hair.

Hahaha, pedo-surgeon.

I'm considering going as either Daisuke Jigen, L or Maes Hughes for the next con. I can't decide...

If I did Jigen, I'd need to grow out my beard and search laboriously for a hat that fits.

If I did L, I'd need to grow my hair long again (win) and straighten it (not-so win).

If I did Hughes, I'd have to keep my hair at the length it is now and search for a bitchin' jacket, or I could be a cheapass and go as plain-clothes Hughes.
