Finally finished re-watching Outlaw Star.
**************SPOILERS FOR OUTLAW STAR*******************
Even though the series ended with a semi-satisfying ending I can't keep myself from wanting more. Sure, they traveled to the Galactic Leyline and all, found out what Melfina really was killed Hazanko and all but it's still lacking. I mean, what happens after all of that? They were heading out to a new system and it can only make one think about what could happen. Case in point, sequel needs to be made.
Not to mention about what'll become of the MacDougal brothers.
************************END SPOILERS**************************
With Outlaw Star finished I just went through the first episode of Berserk. I've only seen the first three so in a way they are still blurry to me.
But, doesn't the servant's head/face region looks somewhat like a vagina when he transforms?

That sounds pretty cool. I might check it out sometime.

Outlaw Star is probably my favorite anme and yes the ending was lacking. I heard the Manga is very different from the anime. i haven't gotten a chance to read it do. Also there is a spin off of Outlaw Star called Angel Links. haven't seen it either. it dosen't look as good.
Good evening everyone, and a belated Happy New Year once again.
Reporting in to confirm that I am alive and well and one day away from returning from Vacation. I hope everyone had a good (generally) holiday as well.
And now back to work.

The manga version is VERY different, not to mention sexual content a plenty.

Big O
Evangelion
.hack//
Sorry about asking this retarded question before reading the last few posts...
But if I'm in, I'd like to be Myojin Yahiko (Rurouni Kenshin)
"Son of a samurai, Yahiko fancies himself a samurai as well. He is a little young to truly fit the bill, but his heart is in the right place. And after being rescued by Kenshin from the thieves guild, he finds a home at the Kamiya doujo. Kaoru begins schooling him in her family's fighting techniques. Thus, Yahiko joins his surrogate family at the doujo. In this environment, he resolves to become as great a fighter as he can be. He idolizes Kenshin and wants to become as strong as he is so he can protect the ones he loves."
He and I share a similar personality.
So anyone who loves anime can join even if its naruto or other?
ok never mind about that last post i didnt read.
my favs are :
Naruto
Kenshin
chobits
inuyasha
fullmetal alchemist
cowboy bebop

The character i would like to be is Rock Lee from Naruto.
"Rock Lee is the most dedicated and hard working ninja in Kohona he prides him self on proving that hard work beats out natural talent and impresing his teacher Gai. Lee one day hopes to see that his nindo is proven and that is a ninja does not need ninjutsu or genjutsu to be a shinobi."
I feel a connention to Lee because i share his same desire to never give up and prove i can be the best with out certain skills.
Yesh rock lee does rock. he is me second in line behind shikamaru
congrats Gendo i guess you made it without having to reach your 9,000 post

Hahaha, thanks for the awesome news, Senor!
I finally got my hands on the first Black Jack Movie, and I dare say it's made of epic drama win.
Now to find a copy of the recent movie adaptation "Futari no Kuroii Isha"...

Black Jack was my introduction to medical drama, what a fantastic series.
Never seen Black Jack, thats the one where the guy is made up of different body parts righ? i think they made a reference to him in Beck.

Indeed. His cloak and suit isn't just for show!

Mild Spoilers Start Here: Follows the original storyline
His body was blasted to pieces when he was a child due to an un-disarmed mine he came across, and he was operated on by Dr. Honma. Unsalvagable body parts were donated to by a school friend of his, and his mother who was also victimised by the mine.
End Mild Spoilers
The linear-retelling (not to be mistaken with "retconning") known as Black Jack 21 changed it slightly to give the overall story a different perspective and somewhat happier endings (Though not as heavily edited as the 2003 Black Jack TV airing).

Heavily edited Black Jack? Sounds horrendous....

No, no. Not like that. I only meant how the overall stories concluded, because Tezuka Productions wanted Black Jack to appeal to a younger audience this time around, they had more 'happier' endings.
Spoilers Begins Here
One example would be the Chaper/Karte known as "Nadare".
While the original storyline had the 'character of the week's' fiance' die and his surgically altered deer dead by his hand, the TV series was changed to have the fiance' saved by Black Jack and the deer's fate left unknown.
Spoilers End Here
Don't worry, I did not mean the "4Kids" kind of heavily edited.

I knew that's what you meant, but I don't know how a show like Black Jack would be even close to the same without the necessary grimness.

Moving diagrams or Japaneses cartoons that are made up of a sequence of images displayed one after the other. They give the illusion of motion and movement.

On anime-related note, IFC Canada is now airing Black Jack, it's needless to say the best part of 2007 for me thus far. Plus Razer now has Samurai Champloo on weekends. I fucking love my satellite dish now...
