Hellsing

I find vampire stories boring

Cowboy Bebop

Seen a million years ago

Berserk (although the ending is fucking bad)

I've been badly wanting to see it.

Slayers

A friend has all my tapes of it!!! (He's had them for three years and has yet to mail thme back to me)

Kenshin
Outlaw Star

I've been wanting to see 'em but can't find 'em, the Kenshin manga was ace too.

Well, Crying Freeman is a series, but it's a series of movies, not episodes. I like the action in the movies. The nudity disturbs me, though.

Ah, good ol' Crying Freeman. What a horribly fucked up series it was.

There are some good anime feature length films out there

Blood Reign: Curse of the Yoma (one reason this appeals to me so much is that it was made in the 80's. I have kind of a soft spot for 70's and 80's movies)

I also have a soft spot for old stuff.

Spriggan

Looked dull to me,

Memories
Dead Leaves (barely feature length, though)

Blockbuster has these two, I'll probably give 'em a rent.

I would reccomend Suikoden: Demon Century, but there are a few reasons why I don't reccomend it (though I don't reccomend not to watch it either).
First of all, it's been years since I've seen it, so it might not be as enjoyable as I remember. Second, it had some pretty bad user reviews on Amzon. And finally, it's only available on VHS from third-party sellers, or whatever the hell they're called. I remember the action being pretty cool, though, and thinking the tranny was kind of funny, but I was 11 when I saw it...so, yeah...

And I thought I was the crazy nostalgist of the club...

EoE was utter trash, I can't believe you wasted your time on it.

Anyway, to join you need to post a list of your ten favorite animes and your favorite character of the same gender as you.

Simple, eh?

7.Chobits
8.DearS
9.Excel Saga

Yes, TOKYOPOP licensed it.

On an unrelated note, I rented the new SOnic game for the 360. All I can say is, suxxors? The game is shit, it feels like they jumbled Sonic Adventure and that god-awful Shawdow spinoff game into a slightly prettier(but not true next gen) package and called it a day.

I'm not surprised. A friend of mine told me that day it was announced that it would suck ass, and I guess he is indeed correct.

I am severely dissapointed, what little faith I had left in Sega just died.

My faith in them died after they let the Dreamcast wither away into nothing.

That's why I'm a nintendo fan. Still, I did like Dreamcast games.....

i think i've made a new decision. i will attempt to contribute whatever the hell i can to the club, but it won't be a whole hell-of-a lot, so ya. Don't expect to see me posting 10 times per day every day. at the most it will be like 5 posts/month.

Hey guys, I've got a wee little questionaire for ya,
What is your all-time favorite...
1. OST?
2. Voice cast?
3. Scene in an anime?
4. Guilty pleasure series?
5. Piece of anime merchandise?

For me, it's...
1. Future Blues - The Seatbelts (Cowboy Bebop: Knockin' On Heaven's Door)
2. The Japanese cast of Excel Saga
3. Sara's performance of "Kuzonoha No Kowakare" (ep. 26 of Samurai Champloo)
4. La Blue Girl
5. 1/8 Rei & Asuka (Plugsuit Version)

Response to Anime Club 2006-12-13 22:18:26

1.I listen to to many of them to know...maybe Asterik?(Bleach)
2.Between the casts of Love Hina and Excel Saga, both languages.
3.Scene in DearS when Ren and Miu discuss Takeya's preferences in porn...."Oh my God! they're So acrobatic! Now THAT is a specialty!"
4.Goldenboy.
5.Big ol' 1 meter tall Naru

I remember reading about that before it came out, I still fucking want one. It would be very complimentary to my Rei/Asuka statue (which I must say was the best $50 I ever spent).

May I suggest you cease with the alt account using? That kind of thing can get you in trouble.

On the plus side, the Uber Rei made history to the point it became a phenomenon among Animation fans in general.

I cannot say that the ending of Humanity was history in the making, given that Ideon's canon ending showed the ending of the universe in one massive explosion from said machine.

...

Gah. "Top wo Nerae! 2" opening... so damn addictive.

*Also spoilers*
I remember when it was dubbed, some douchebag writing for Animerica did a "subversive" review/rant about the film that dragged on for around six pages and needless to say was plastered with screencaps ruining the film's "shock" scenes (Shinji wanking to the comatose Asuka, random gore shots, etc.) and a bunch of mamble-jamble about how "wet" the film was.

It read more like a psycology thesis than a movie review, and it totally spoiled the ending. I'm surprised that they decided not to spoil my personal favorite scene, Gendo having his head bitten off my Eva O1 (which was nothung short of fucking cool).

I now feel the urge to watch Be Invoked since you mentioned Space Runaway Ideon.

I'm not suprised that someone will be willing to do a paper on that movie.
To most, it was more "WTF" than "shock", nonetheless.

Sorry, it's just a little ironic given our user name. XD

Just between you and me (And everyone reading this, HA HA IRONY! (Sorry)), I heard rumours of a subbing group that is doing Be Invoked right now. I cannot verify with the University Internet system at the moment, but I'll ask a friend of mine who is not bound by site restrictions.

Yes, I see the irony. But I just thought the scene was awesome. Gendo had an over-the-top death coming to him anyway.

Oooh, sounds good. Here's hoping there is truth to this rumor!

Also, I probably won't be around much for the next few days. My internet connection is totally shot and it is fucked up beyond all repair at the moment.
