Well there already is a Bleach Club and someone[I forget who]made an RPG Forum on a freewebs site for this club. But this is the Clubs & Crews section of the Newgrounds Forums and not the RPG Forum.

At 11/26/06 09:13 PM, Lopezinator wrote: One more thing. If we join this club we have to pick a name right?

You have to list your ten favourite anime/manga and a character of the same gender to represent you that is not taken by a current club member. You can view the list here...

...if you do join please be sure to read our clubs rules.

At 11/27/06 04:28 PM, Lopezinator wrote: What do you do in this club?

We talk about anything anime/manga related including OSTs as well. Games based off of anime/manga series, movies made from series as well. Just about anything and everything you can think of that deals with anime.

Oh and do I have to ask permission from this club if I want to make a RP of a certain anime?

Like I said in my previous post, don't remember who but someone[one of our club members of course]made a RPG Forum on a freewebs site for just this thing.

What is the purpose of names in this club?

The character names we choose represents our favorite character out of all the series we've seen.

I'm going to start watching Gungrave just as soon as I'm done with G Gundam[You must watch, it's is made of God, hot blood and large amounts of win WIN WIN!]. I obtained the complete soundtrack of the series along with the video game sound track to the first one. I've enjoyed the storyline of the series since I played both of the games[I own both of them, they are awesome]and got sucked into it.

More days I'll be almost late for work.

Since some people have the names of video game characters, I would like to be Albel from Star Ocean 3: Till the End of Time.

Well here is the top ten.

1. Dragonball Z
2. Trinity Blood
3. Naruto
4. Full Metal Alchemist
5. Bleach
6. One Piece
7. Zatch Bell
8. Trigun
9. Eureka 7
10. Tenchi Muyo

3,4, and 5 are tied for 3rd and 6, 7, and 8 are tied for 4th but if I did have to choose this is what it would be. Oh yah and when you say in the rules "you can't say how you got it" with "it" being a game you mean that I couldn't say something like "I bought it at GameStop" or is it something different?

Yes, it is indeed ROD The TV

anyways, what have you guys been up to for the past while?

Watching ROD, srsly, it wins my face off.

Also, I'm an incredibly hardcore Death Note fan now, I put together an L costume on Sunday and wore it yesterday. It eluded a few stares, mainly because of my ragged Jewfro (which I've decided I'm gonna straighten soon) and the fact that I didn't need makeup to acheive his creepy sunken eyes (I'm an insomniac). It's comfortable as Hell too, so I cannot wait for the next con around here, which likely won't be until July, damn.

K thank you. Now is talking about Anime and manga all we do in this club? It seems odd that with only one subject to talk about you can keep going for more than 1,000 pages without running out of things to talk about.

You ask too many questions, just relax and roll with it. This club lasts because the subject is nowhere near as narrow as you think.

I was thinking of getting into Death Note, but would like some opinions on it before I dedicate my computer to massive downloads, some people tell me it's good, some tell me it's bad the other tells me it's confusing (it sucks only knowing three people that like anime) but what do the people here that have seen it think. Same thing with ROD since I've been meaning to watch the show and movie for the longest time now.

For the guy that asked if we ever run out of things to talk about, yes we do there have been times when this club was dormant for the weeked or the longest I've ever seen a week. Of course someone will come in and ask about an anime or talk about one that they've just seen and the posters come flying again.

Death Note is an excellent series with a genius plot and really memorable characters. The plot is only confusing if you read too much into minor details (like the 68 rules of the Death Note). Also, L is fucking Godly.

ROD on the other hand is an entertaining yet hyper-convoluted action/adventure/comedy/WTF kind of series. It's loads of fun to watch, but it's got no sense of direction and the between-episode cliffhangers are suicide-inducingly tense. The OVAs (or abridged movie version as it aired on [adult swim]) are much more focused, but lack the affable weirdness of the series.

Response to Anime Club 2006-11-28 21:04:55

SON OF A BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITCH!!!!!
I'm officially fed up with ROD's awful cliffhangers, tonight's episode (ep 17) makes Doctor Who's awful cliffhangers look subtle.
*SPOILERS*

During a super-tense standoff, Nancy is revealed to be Junior's mother, and a shot is fired off screen.

*END SPOILERS*
Guh, these kind of things piss me off, because...
*SPOILERS*

the gun was pointed at Nancy, but ROD rarely goes for such obvious twists, so I'm at least 45% sure Nancy wasn't shot.

the 2nd Negima Movie came out a few days ago. This thing is CHALK full of echi and fanservice. even though it's made by Shaft it's still pretty good!

If you guys want to watch it just Type in "Negima Natsu OVA" on the youtube search bar.

A different one. There are no rules that i know of.

Each Devil Fruit gives you a different power. If you eat the Gum-Gum fruit, you will be a Rubberman like Luffy. Here is a list of the Devil Fruits and the characters who have consumed them.

2) Is that Flamefist guy Luffy's brother? It certainly seemed like it...
Yes.

Indeed, Portgas D. Trace and Monkey D. Luffy are considered brothers, but the details of their relationship are unclear.

What genre this band would fall under? It sounds pretty Thrashy.

I started watching ROD the TV last night, I must say nergasms ensued. The show is hilarious and completley unecpected, it almost reminds me of Magical Shopping Acarade Abenobashi with the randomness of it. Death Note I haven't started yet, but I plan on doing that tonight too.

Good comparison, Abenobashi is similar to ROD, I can't wait to see tonight's episode! (Damn cliffhangers have me hooked)

I should also remember to catch up on Death Note tonight, I'm two episodes behind.

Does anybody think that the Full Metal Alchemist movie left much to be desired? I mean, they didn't even show how Ed and Al closed that portal to the other side! Comments?

I actually didn't mind the open-ended feeling the movie gave. It's certainly far from a dissapointing ending in my books. Trust me, almost all of my favorite animes have horrid endings.

Also, even though you didn't really ruin anything important, use spoiler tags next time you reveal the details of a film's plot.

Example:
*SPOILER*

Jesus dies in the Passion of The Christ

Black magic M-66

I had considered checking that out. Actually, I had thought about it around 6 years ago, but never saw it.

Tonight's ROD cleared up all my questions about the episode, and decided to hammer the "who's that in the traumatic childhood flashback?" plot point down our throats.

Anita WAS present during the fire that destroyed the British National Library, why am I not surprised?

That does cause slight confusion, but one could easily asume he emigrated there after WWI.
