Why Anime, Manga and Anything in between is Awesome
For my 10,000th post I decided to post it in here, my home. The first club that I ever did join and probably the last club that I will ever leave. Come hell or high water I will stand by this club until either the club or myself meets it's untimely demise.
Why I say that Anime is Awesome
For starters, lets take a look at anime today and anime from years past. Some of the first anime ever to grace TV screens and put smiles on children's faces, such legendary series such as:
- Astro Boy
- Tetsujin 28
- Marine Boy
- Eight Man
- Kimba the White Lion
- Cyborg 009
Others include:
- Space Battleship Yamato
- Mazinger Z
- Android Kikaider
- Devilman
- Lupin III
- Mobile Suit Gundam
All are tremendous series, in their time and current as well. Any fan to anime would recognize at least five of these grand series. Many have been re-created into sub-series or redone for children of this age.[The whole black/white doesn't sit well with ADD kids these days] Setting groundwork, a grand foundation for many grand anime series to come. Not to mention a lot of them have very powerful story lines, Astro Boy to name one.
Some great movies have also came from them, video games and soundtracks too. The opening theme to Astro Boy is a classic etched in time, Mazinger Z and Gundam as well. Meguriai is quite possibly the most beautiful song to ever come from the Gundam series it's self, I'm willing to go as far as saying any mecha series that is out to date as well. Yes, the music might sound 'cheesy' in a sense but it provides power to the series. You can take the best animation and give it a mediocre song and it will kill the series.
Many portray the good guy overcoming the bad. Vanquishing evil, doing what is right. Some on the other hand such as Devilman had a real dark side to them. Some you could say we just for fun and laughs. Lupin III, one of my all time favorite series is all about fun. Heck, even the video game made from the series is fun to play and has a very comic side to it[even though it starts to get pretty deep towards the middle of the game] As stated, all legends in their time and still are today.
Anime series fill us with excitement, hope, cheer, sadness, all emotions of the human spectrum and more with some. I love getting wrapped up in a great series, episode after ending episode on the edge of my chair thinking to myself 'No! It can't end like this?'/'Oh MAN I can't WAIT for next week's episode, I'm gonna DIE here.' this being true when I first started watching anime, anime such as Dragonball Z, G Gundam and MS Gundam. In truth, there is no bad anime out there on the market today, if a series has at least one fan then it was worth something, same with anything started.
In a way anime allows us to act out a person inside of ourself that we normally can't in the real world. We can act the hero, play the villain and even dress up as Chars Zaku II S. There is someplace inside the heart of every anime fan who dreams of being the character they watch. Such power, such intensity some characters have make me wish anime didn't exist at all due to the unfairness that none of it is real. I love going through a series from start to finish but I'm always sad in the end. I want more, I want to know what happened after the final battle was over. How will they live their life then on? Then I move on to another series, it's such the vicious cycle...
And I quote: "For Anime is made of God and Win."
Thus, I end my statement as to why Anime is Awesome

Why I say that Manga is Awesome
With manga the best part for me is I can read it at my own pace. It has a lot of the things I said about anime minus the animation and the tracks. Not to mention color but that is on another note.
I really love it for the artwork. Many a manga series have blown me away with the intensity and beauty of the art in the pages that I dare say it's moving to tears. The smooth and crisp style is just something that I truly dig. In a way[IMO that is]it's better than anime. *Gasp* Dare I say it? I dare I do. For also with manga you can fit a voice to any character and they are prefect for you. I've always loved that part about manga, no bad VAs be OVA or otherwise know and Funimation'd[Yes, I do realize that Funimation does not do all dubs, just a lot of really REALLY bad ones. Not to mention 4Kids, sho-pro OH THE LIST COULD GO ON!]
Not to mention there are series that are strictly in manga form. One of my more favorite series, Descendants of Darkness is mainly in manga format aside from the tweleve episodes that cover the first 3 to 4 volumes of the manga[not to mention a phenominal OST as well.] Which is kinda a bummer in a way since there are people out there who only watch anime and do not read manga, period. Odd but true.
To me there is just the great appeal to manga like no other. Waiting for that day to purchase that manga volume that your local retailer rarely gets in due to the fact that they have no clue what manga is nor have probably never even touched one manga book, ever. That or when you ask for them to order you volumes 9-12 of Love Hina in manga form and they order the anime.[No joke, took me 2 years to finish the Love Hina manga but OH MAN WAS IT WORTH IT! *Huge Thumbs UP!*]
Aside from a lot of the fact that are stated about anime apply to manga and this post is now under 1k characters.
And I quote: "For Manga is made of God and Win."
Thus, I end my statement as to why Manga is Awesome
I'll go some into OSTs as well. Some of the absolute BEST soundtracks come from series such as FLCL, Samurai Champloo, Trigun, Gungrave, Gundam, Inuyasha, Decendants of Darkness and many other fantastic series. One day I shall list why OSTs are made of WIN AND GOD. WIN AND GOD YOU HEAR!

To all fans of anime and manga everywhere, thank you for backing them and pushing artists to make such great series such as Hikaru No Go.
To Wonko, Tink and Red. Three people who have helped me become who I am today and who I shall turn into in the end. Especially Red, for taking me under his wing, helping me become a better person.
