That's shocking. USMC usually does a decent job with dubbing anime. Oh well then, guess I'll have to rent them someday and watch them, subbed at that.

I agree with the Cartoon Network thing. My first anime was on there as well. Actually, to be sure I think it was Sailor Moon being that I was young. Hm...can't be sure but I think that's what it was.

Oh, they've done some very bad dubs before. They did an awful job on Cyber City. fuck this, fuck that. that kind of thing.

My god, that was freaking horrible. It's a total piece of crap with lame fight scenes and cartoon tits thrown in as a poor attempt at titilation.

Well, next anime on the queue: volume 1 of Texhnolyze. But first, there's Battle Royale, then a movie my stepfather rented regardless of the warnings I gave him about how everyone seems to hate it.

Don't knock CN, they've aired some fucking awesome series, dubbed badly and not. Every day I thank my lucky stars that they aired G Gundam and The 08th M.S. Team when they did, two of the best Gundam series out there[from what I've seen.]Hell, I'm even greatful they aired the original Gundam even though the last few episodes were never aired due to the 9/11 incident.

Cartoon Network was the first channel I ever say any kind of anime on. Hell Dragonball Z, one of my gateway anime, is still one of my favorite series ever and it doesn't have that bad VAs[aside from a few]. So don't go knocking CN, they bring anime to the masses for free. If 'said viewer' likes it they'll go out and buy the DVD or whatever and watch it subbed.

I have to admit, CN was my main anime source when I first got into it. But they've left the majority of the good anime to Adult Swim unbothered with except for an occasional schedule change (those piss me off) and an edit or two coughEvacough. And besides, CN's not the real problem with crappy dubs; it's the companies that hire incompetent VAs, shove a can down their throats, and put them in the recording booth.

The ppl who do the dubs should do that too, maybe they'd do better jobs then...
Heh, that wouldn't be so bad in some cases you know...

I'll admit that's where I got my anime fix until I went to college. Now all I have is YouTube. So sad, so sad...

Post your top 10 favourite anime and pick a character that isn't on this list. The character has to be the same gender as you.

Ummm, no. Some dubs are quite good, IMHO, you actually have to try llistening to ones other than the terrible mainstream cable ones.

Yep they sure did. Actually it was aired on the midnight Toonami skit along with DBZ. They aired all of the episodes, I think they ran the series twice before they pulled it off. They also aired Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket & Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory. Those were pretty good too. It's a shame though I didn't get to see the end of 0083.

That's quit simple actually. the origanl Gundam sereies was made in the 70's so there's been about 30+ years to make many spin offs and continuences. the other Gundam series are more recent and so haven't had much time to make many spin-odds and what not.

I forgot about those two. It's been a long time since I've seen those. Quite good. One thing that I can't remember is the names of the spinoffs that Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 had. I think one of them was A.D. Police, that's all.

Actually CE had more than just Seed, I guess you'd say side branches. [Made a chart below]

Probably because it had the most interest in it really. When Gundam aired back in '79 it was a smash hit. Then the rest just sorta followed after that. Victory Gundam being the last of the UC era followed by G Gundam later that same year [1994] So yeah. Even more surprising, ZZ Gundam almost didn't make production due to the lack of interest in Mecha anime. Heck, even Toei canceled a series they had in the works because morale for Mecha was so low.

Animation Productions

Universal Century:
Mobile Suit Gundam
Mobile Suit Gundam: The 08th MS Team
Mobile Suit Gundam 0080: War in the Pocket
Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory
Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam
Mobile Suit Gundam ZZ
Mobile Suit Gundam: Char's Counterattack
Mobile Suit Gundam F91
Mobile Suit Victory Gundam

Future Century:
Mobile Fighter G Gundam

After Colony:
New Mobile Report Gundam Wing
New Mobile Report Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz

After War:
After War Gundam X

Correct Century:
Gundam [ Turn-A Gundam ]

Cosmic Era:
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED ASTRAY
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED DESTINY
Mobile Suit Gundam SEED C.E. 73 STARGAZER

For Lupin and co. to be awesome. B) Not to mention steal rare artifacts, gems, paintings anything worth value all while leading Zenigata down a trail of dust.
