Roughly translated, it means "Elfen Song". Oh, and the new Guyver looks freakin'-frackin' awxsome!!! Beautiful animation, kick-awesome opening theme and it's yet another huge nostalgia trip for me. I loved the manga and the old anime.

So, can we work some sort of a trade here. Of course it also depends on what box sets they have and in what langugae as well. I don't want to watch a Chinese version of One Piece with English subs calling Monkey D. Luffy Monkey D. Roof.

In addition to One Piece, just how many other anime/manga series include the Marines? I'm pretty sure Star Blazers had Space Marines, and Armored Trooper Votoms revolves around some kind of special forces operative, but I don't know if it's the Marine Corps.

Some I have in mind.

Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040
Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi
3 X 3 Eyes
Crying Freeman
Requiem From The Darkness
Saikano
Girl's Bravo (Don't let the name fool you, it's a harem comedy.)
Maburaho
Onegai Twins
Cromartie High
Ikki Tousen

That's all I can think of for now.

Bubblegum Crisis and all it's incarnations are cool.

3 X 3 Eyes

I always loved the title, I also recall hearing a lot of dialogue from it in old Atari Teenage Riot songs, I'll have to look more into it.

Crying Freeman

Old-school debuachery-fest, good choice.

Girl's Bravo (Don't let the name fool you, it's a harem comedy.)

I enjoyed it.

Cromartie High

Totally awesome...Freddie is one of the coolest anime characters ever!

I'm surprised someone else besides me have seen it. It's rare, and saddens me that they haven't made one for Sanctuary, Offered, and Wounded Man. Just a few more that I remember...

Blue Seed
Ai Yori Aoshi
Goku: Midnight Eye (Haven't seen this in years)
School Rumble
Saber Marionette J
Comic Party
Rahxephon
Psychic Academy
Sorcerer Hunters
Demon Lord Dante
Dual! Parrel Adventure

All I can remember for now.

Yeah, I don't think that's so uncommon. The girl I'm going out with likes anime and I have two friends whose girlfriends like anime. My aunt likes some (pretty much the Studio Ghibli stuff) and I think my female cousin likes some of it, too.

We have an anime club at college (I'm the VeePee btw) and we have a handful of female members (one's the secretary).

List of anime

Thanks for those Mast3rmind but the slight problem is I have no netflix or anime network so I'm forced to get all my anime from all anime lovers favorite site youtube. I might check some of those out on Wiki to see if any sound intresting enough to buy the box set for. Bubble Crisis is good though I used to watch that and Dirty Pair when they were on Starz.

I have all of the movies on DVD. They all would have been better without the nudity. It gets irritating. good action, though.

Do NOT watch the new Negima OVA Movie. It screws up the Character designs and manga story even worse than the 1st anime series did TRUST ME!

SPOILER!

Sakurako has fucking blonde hair. her red hair fromt he 1st series was actually better.
Asuna doesn't have her to different colored eyes and looks more like Usagi from Sailor Moon.
Nodoka has almost been totally redesigned and looks awful. (being a HUGE Nodoka fan this pissess me off to NO END!)
Evangiline STILL doesn't look even close to her manga form.
Yotuba is actually relitivly skinny! for thoese of you who have read the manga you know she is actually a full figured girl.

One other little thing, Negi writes in the air to casts his spells now which he NEVER DID ONCE in the manga!

most of the other characters have been redesigned and NOT for the better i might add. and the Beach story that it's supposed to do doesn't even come close to being accurate. (except for a few parts but mostly not!)

SO DO NOT WATCH THE NEW NEGIMA OVA MOVIE!

END OF SPOILER!

I honestly don't know why I loved that series so damn much. I was young as hell when I first saw it, then saw it again when I was 16, and still loved it.

Something we can agree on.

Saikano is worth getting, although it's powerful man. That series is enough to break a man. Same with the manga. I've never read anything that deep before. I still can't wait to see the live action movie of it that was made this year. Oh, and Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi is definetely worth getting if you need series laughs. The first episode is slow, but from there, you'll be laughing. The series practically makes fun of everything. It reminded of FLCL a little bit, plus in the bloopers, they make fun of Micheal Jackson. Classic stuff.

Glad to know someone had it. At first I thought it wasn't an Anime at all and I just thought I had seen it before. I can't remember much of it. And I only have the first manga.

I wasn't a fan of the anime series anyway, so it's all good. After they messed up the Love Hina series, I basically lost all hope in there actually being a good transition from manga to anime when it comes to Akamatsu's work.

Probably because it's unexpected - the average anime fan would think that Japanese animation has Japanese titles, so naming the series in German shakes things up a bit.

In other news, I finally found a copy of Fullmetal Alchemist and the Broken Angel for the PS2. I'm almost through Ratchet & Clank, and this will be the first game I've won since Shining Force (for the Sega Genesis). I'm also thinking about getting Katamari Damacy for the PS2 because I've heard it's really easy, cheap, and addictive.

By the way, I've built up quite a collection of manga in the past couple of weeks; as soon as the last packages arrive, I'll have volumes 1-5 of Ai Yori Aoshi, Girls Bravo, Negima, Ranma 1/2, and Tenjho Tenge. The plan is to read the first 5 then order the next 5 or so until I have the whole series.

You are in for a treat my good sir. It's a great game IMO. The only thing that I didn't like about it was some of the missions you had to partake in. Other than that it's good graphics wise and great game play wise. It's alot longer than you think. If you do ever want to as well you should also play the second one, The Crimson Elixer. The cut sceens and the music for that game are fantastic along with all the upgraded moves and graphics. Both great games but Broken Angel beats out Crimson Elixer by 8 to 6.

Same here. Heard good things about it, never played it.

Geez, I don't even have that many myself. The last I got was the Cowboy Bebop set. Shooting Star is a great series, done in a different style but it's pretty good.

===

Recently aquired the Trigun OST and half of the Outlaw Star OST as well. Having trouble with the Gungrave and Nightwalker ones. I want the Gungrave OST due to the fact I've got and played through both of the games and the music for them are amazing and Nightwalker is one of my favorite series.

Geez, come to think of it the Eureka 7 game comes out mid October. I think I'll rent that one before I buy it, heard not so good things about it through GameInformer.

No the German title is cool to me because my whole family is German and I love the language, so when I read the title and said Elfs song to myself I got all giddy like a school girl because most people don't recognize the German language as much as they should.

Response to Anime Club 2006-09-21 15:58:12

Lol. Giddy like a school girl. Yeah I have to agree about the German Language though. I'm not one to talk because I don't know it though I used to have alittle bit in high school but forgot it because it was like in 10 grade. An interesting language. Anyways, Elf's song, is that an anime? Hm... maybe not. If it then that's two names I have that's from an anime.

I have it and it's pretty good, but you are right it is easy I beat it in a day and a half (not playing all the time) and I would have to say it would be a whole lot more fun if I had friends or a ps2.

:Ai Yori Aoshi, Ranma 1/2,

I would of read Ai Yori Aoshi had borders had any besides #3 (I hate my borders) so I watched the anime and it became one of my favs. (I really need to watch more of kino's journy), and I have read the first 6 of Ranma 1/2 (own 4) there are just too many of them for me to read (aka buy) so I just kind of stopped reading it.

Yeah Elfs Song is kinda the name of an anime, it's what Elfen Lied means when it gets translated from German to English not literally of course because it would make no sense but you get the idea.

Yeah, two actually. Gungrave & Gungrave: Overdose, both of which are for the PS2. The first doesn't have voices, the second one does. Also in Overdose you can play as RB as well as Juji but only after you beat the game with Grave. Both are very good but Overdose is better, for one it's longer and two you have more characters and overdrives.
