To tell you the truth I don't what type of anime you'd like, I find about animes I like through either reading a least one of the series manga and then checking out the anime, or finding about a anime through some source of information so to tell you the truth I don't know what to recommend you.

oh by the way since theres a new list being made, I wanted to know if I could change my represent character from Freddie of cromartie High to Shingo Yabuki from the king of fighters series

Hellsing is pretty nice. Not sure how "gory" other folks consider it, but I'd say it's pretty damned nice.

I slept in this morning. no members list update for you. Also, yes you can, but you need to relist your 5 favorite anime and name the character you want tot be and what they're from. Preferably all in one post, as this makes it much easier to update the list.

P.S. Anytime someone comes in to flame this club or say anime sucks. Just ignore the fuckers.

Thanks. Maybe not all of the DVDs have been released yet? That may be why I could only find 10 DVDs.

Oh, boy, if you want gory, check out Berserk. It's so gory it's disturbing. Also, my cousin told me a little bit about a manga called "Island", which I think he said is about a serial killer or something. That should be pretty gory.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm going to have to decline. I'm still improving my skills, and as far as I'm concerned I still have a ways to go before my skills are as good as I would like them to be.

I like the way they have the hover-boards operate in that show. It seems very realistic compared to the way those sorts of vehicles work in other animes, which seem a bit far fetched from a scientific standpoint.

And i think Ghost in the Shell ripped off Office Space with that virus program that takes those small fractions that are rounded away in money transactions and puts them in an account, making lots of money over time.

I noticed that as well. However, the major differences are that in Office Space the virus only affects a single company instead of an entire country, and the money wasn't being used by terrorists.

Technically it does. Since 'anime' is just Japanese for 'cartoon'. If you look at it from that stand point then any form of animated movie or show could be considered 'anime'. However, that term is primarily associated with traditional Japanese animated shows.

I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend to be one of those deaf-mutes.

Sorry but i must intrude into this conversation. ANIME IS NOT CARTOONS DAMNIT!

Anime is animation. yes cartoons and anime are made the same way but they are different. They are different forms of animation. It's like conmparing a children's show to an adult film. Both are made the same way but are both different forms of filmed entertainment.

Same goes with Manga. Manga is Japanese style graphic novels. Comis and manga are made the same way but are different forms of graphic novles.

Is anyone planning to attend the next Ohayocon, an anime convention in Columbus, Ohio? I went to Ohayocon Six a few months ago and was hoping to see Tink there.

That is going to be a problem for me, because I don't live near Columbus, Ohio. I would go to that convention, but sadly, I can't. I live in Canada.

Who are you? Meh whatever.

Look, whatever. If you freaks haven't figured it out yet, it'll probably be next weekend before the update. Maybe the weekend after, because I'm leaving North Carolina on tuesday, getting a months vacation, then going on to Okinawa, so you might have to wait till i'm on vacation.

It's held at the Hyatt Hotel/Greater Columbus Convention Center. Maybe you could get a room at the hotel for the three-day weekend.

One proble that's going to cost money, which is something my dad doesn't have, nor do I. There's an Anime convention that comes to Canada, but It's 8-9 hours from where I live.

That's a shame. I figured that since you lived in Ontario, there'd be something closer to you, like a con in Toronto or Ottawa. In which province is the nearest Canadian anime convention?

There's Anime North in Toronto, Ontario. Although it's like 9 to 8 hours away from where I live.

When is it? If it's in mid-late may, I can't go, because I'll be in Japan, where I'm geting stationed for the next 2 years. Fun times. If it's earlier, I might blow some money to go.

I finally saw End of Evangelion the other day...... very fucked up... yet better than the last eps of the show.

SPOILER***********************************
*************

So i guess Shinji and Asuka are Adam and Eve now, being the only humans left...or whatever....

END O SPOILER******************

Since there is a manga about Kingdom Hearts, I guess i can talk about it, plus the FF Advent Children characters in it. I finished Kingdom Hearts II a little while ago, it was really good. Kind of wierd, combinging the light hearted and humor of Disney characters with the serious Final Fantasy characters. I guess having final fantasy worlds would be too much, since disney worlds are based off of 1 1/2 hour movies and a 40 hour game couldnt be summed up easily.

PS: Sephiroth is crazy strong...as well he should be...though the battle still continues into the third game

Well I saw Millenium Actress a week ago at an international film festival, and I must say, it is one of the greatest animations I have ever seen, although the way in which the story takes place is exactly the same as in paranoia agent when *POSSIBLE SPOILER* The detectives are interrogating the fake lil' slugger about why he batted the people *END OF SPOILER.

Has anyone else seen this film?

By the way, I had completely forgotten about this film, I'm surprised I've still got my character. By the way, Spike Spiegel is misspelled on the list :)
