Unless the rules changed since the last time I checked the list, he can't. The individual, if he was allowed in, would have probably picked a Gundam pilot for a character. But last time I was here, you had to be the same gender as your character, and unless somebody has a book on the anatomy of the Evangelion Angels to prove me wrong, Angels didn't have any gender.
Now, as I recall, the issue became rather strange when it came to characters that had genders but were also machines (ie the Androids from DBZ) or other such situations, so the rule MIGHT have been changed to make things easier. I'm just speaking based off of what the rule was when I was let into the club and how it was the last time I checked on the info.
