For the people who've seen or read Maison Ikkoku made by Rumiko Takahashi and have read or watched Love Hina, you can see some interesting similarities besides the fact that people are staying in a house, some of the personalities match others, and the some of the story from both of them intertwine at a moment. Both good mangas and animes nonetheless.
Formula a la Tenchi Muyo. One guy, too innocent and good to take advantage, gets stuck in a situation with a plethora of young and available girls. It gets the reader/viewer all pissed since the lucky bastard main character doesn't realize what a lucky fuck he is! Everyone goes, "Damn if I were him I'd have hit so much ass by now, I'd need a court date and a lawyer." But the main character finds true love, lives happily ever after, blah blah blah. It's actually a pretty over done formula these days, but the Japanese don't seem to be ones to avoid the efficiencies of mass production. I do like Love Hina, yes, but it got old a long time ago!
