It all depends on what you're looking for. Just check out the Sponsor Review Thread.

Re Observation

More (semi-decent) games being released in the Portal, less and less proper animations. Bunch of : gold diggers.

I have noticed the very large increase in games lately, and semi lack of decent animations. As for the gold digger part, probably true with a lot of them, but I'm personally a game designer and coder so I don't make animations, and I absolutely love making games. I used to make them before I even knew you could get them sponsored, when I found out you could I was like fuck ya, there's some extra cash for doing what I love. Either way, no doubt at all that there are some money hungry people out there busting out barely decent games just for the cash.

Oh, and the thing that was going in front of the camera was a monkey stuffed animal, with a hole in it's butt and turned inside out after the stuffing was removed. I have very twisted sick friends. Oh and my band teacher was using it as a puppet and playing the train whistle in this video.

Can those of you in other countries or places search for my game Pico & Pals, and tell me if there's some larger sized site getting a lot of views for it. I seem to have about 30,000 views that I can't tell where they're coming from...

Casual Gaming

So I have a few thoughts floating around regarding this. First off, casual gaming as it's being called is really growing, perhaps too much in my opinion. I feel that casual gaming has leaked into the gaming industry so much that today's games are more about flashy graphics and simple gameplay then a well thought out game with great controls and a nice challenge. Also pertaining to this, it seems that many large games aren't really accepted in flash, as if flash can only support small quick games. I see flash as a tool that's perfectly capable of handling a semi lengthy and in depth game that's on par with a console game aside from graphics, however it's not often, if at all you see users creating a project of this scale. I myself love the 2D realm of gaming and flash is my ticket in for the time being, I wish there were more inspired authors willing to collaborate on a full size, very in depth flash game. I just feel that casual gaming has made the general public lazy gamers that are unwilling to explore something more in depth and creative then what we generally see in the portal these days, what are others thoughts on this?

Is it 3.5 now, or is the guy wrong?

The good ones wont pop up any more often, its just that they'll be the ONLY ones TO pop up xD

Dunno, maybe some better candidates will feel like they've got more space cleared for them now.

But in the end the better you are the more you want to make something by yourself... I think xD

I reckon that's why nobody bothers with collabs unless they're desperate for some rep

ROAD TRIP
Anyone ever gone on a roadtrip? I was thinking of taking one this Summer to go visit all those random internet people I never met on the East Coast and have somehow escaped from various mod meats and <event> Con.

Hi there!

Isn't 3.5 a bit harsh? I mean I only have 3.39 and I can and have run a collab and have it turn out.

EA FIFA licensing
I've though about this for a while.
Why does EA need to get some kind of license to display the correct Team names, Player names, etc. in their FIFA Games (and I guess all other sports games made by them).

It's not only EA, though. When you play PES, for example, you can see they've had problems with licensing because they don't have the correct club names.

So anyway, what do you think would happen if they were to make a game featuring those names, but without any license?

I mean, can they get sued for writing names in a game?

I think so yes.. maybe because sometimes in the games like clubs do really badly and this may show the club in a bad light? I dunno :S
