Why do you need MD5 for that? It's harder to implement that most other things that output big numbers. You could just like raise the first character to the power of the next and then convert that to whatever base.
Also I crammed half the Japanese katakana alphabet today. Head hurts.

SweetSkater does Japanese at college, I believe.

First of all, MD5's available and already out there for Flash as an importable function. So the hard work of doing my own hash function is done for me at an industry standard, also making the difficulty of implemenation void.
Second, it fills up a LOT of space in Flash files when it's decrypted, and looks like a pigs ear. Code thieves will be running to the hills if they haven't got thier heads properly screwed on or recognise the bitshifting that's going on as a hash cypher.
Third, as has already been shown, I have a fetish for the function and use it for everything from level generation to character statting. One function, a billion uses. It sees more use in game design than Math.sin for me.
Fourth, I can test the output with a simple php call to MD5, and can always build things outside of Flash using it - for instance, I could build a webpage that just translates a page into my fictional languages easier.
Any more reasons needed?

I think a sponsor's pretty essential to qualify as 'whoring' :P Otherwise it's just a lovely collaboration.
Anyway, I'd love to volunteer, but unfortunately my family's income crippled thanks to the 'get a huge ass mortgage and sod the consequences' attitude of yesteryear and I've got at least four years of uni to pay for, so I'm strictly on paid work for the foreseeable future.

Meh, I manage to divide my Flash work between business mode and development mode pretty well. So long as I'm making something, I stay in development mode. When I need a sponsor or to whore myself out with ads at the end, I switch over to business mode. Right now I'm finalising the latter, so sorry if I seem a little greedy for money :P

Who wants to talk about Scrubs?
I know some of you people don't like scrubs but...you can still contribute and tell us WHY you don't like it.
Anyway...favorite doc? Favorite season/episode? Bad/Good points of the show?
Anything you feel you want to include

I like scrubs... I thought the newer episodes might come out bad though. Good thing I was wrong.

I enjoy Scrubs. It's a show that doesn't really ever jump the shark, because there's always a variable amount of time between episodes and thanks to the daydreams, it almost has a quasi-prejumped feel. Even the standard jump triggers (which would be main characters sleeping together where thier relationship on screen is based purely on sexual tension, episodes of marriage and baby births, actor death, and haircut changes) don't seem to actually ever push Scrubs into selling out terratory, thanks to the fact they're all lead up to pretty reasonably.
Anyway. Favourite episodes. "My Screw Up" is a perfectly crafted episode and handles the entire subject amazingly well. "My Way Home" is visually excellent and has a great deal of jokes you can pick up if you've seen the Wizard of Oz before. "My Lunch" and "My Fallen Idol" though provide the greatest amount of character development between them, possibly iconic of why Scrubs is such a great show.
Yeah. I know. Two shows where reoccuring characters kick the can are in my favourites. I like my comedy serious. All the characters are well written (even when they're just used as stock jokes / stereotypes for a punchline and don't get another mention in the episode), but I prefer my complex characters, and so it's a reassuring tie between Cox and J.D.

Scrubs
Yeah, Scrubs is without doubt the best show of all time imo. All those hilarious characters; the janitor, Doctor Cox, Ted.. I really can't pick a favorite :)
Too bad it's only a few episodes left before they end it :'(

Truthfully, I don't know any of the names of the episodes, so I have no idea what your talking about :p. But I'm sure their great since...cmon, its scrubs!

I'd have to agree with you on that one. I love Cox and J.D, they are a huge part in the story (being the main character and the main problem-causer.) I also love Turk since he is a big part of the story. Plus, he's funny! :p

I heard somewhere that ABC was going to buy it and make a new season after this one
Hm, all in all a pretty decent Pico Day. Seemed like there were fewer submissions, but that they were of generally higher quality. Liked Nathaniel Milburn's the best, as per usual.
Scrubs
I love that show myself, but I don't have a favorite character or anything like that.

Yes, quoted! Mission accomplished.
Anyway,
SCRUBS
Yeah, it's a great show. I also heard it's actually going in to yet another season... somehow.
Collab:
I had an idea for a collaboration. Not sure if it's any good or not but, I'm not sure it would work.
My idea was, a collab where every little sound, including music had to be made from noises made from your mouth. But then I realized my voice sounds like a 5 year old on helium.
Times you wish you were older
KaynSlamdyke
Congratulations! You earned it. An excellent choice for mod in my opinion.
