Still fancy paying that?

You're forgetting the most important thing :P

Get MGS4 - Play MGS4 - Get inspired by its awesomeness - Make an awesome game - Get sponsored for >£2000 - Return of over 300%

Besides, that's not the only reason for getting a PS3. It's just the only one which matters to me at this particular moment.

As far as I heard, it was going to be:
- Get MGS4 and PS3
- Spend an hour setting the new thing up and then put the game in the installer
- Start the 5gb installation procedure (guide time, probably half an hour)
- Shout WTF?! and head to the NG forums, where you're promptly told to stop being an ADD-tard for not being able to wait for the most awesome game ever, and derided even more by 360 fantards for buying a big black obselisk
- Finish installing game, start MGS4
- At title screen, get told there's an unskippable update- requiring you to restart the console
- Restart console. Start P2P download, which is all leech no seed. Guide time, about 90 hours
- Complain again. Get shouted at again
- Restart update, this time going for server download. Of course, due to high demand, the servers have crashed. And your progress from P2P has been conveniently erased. Restart P2P download
- Finally, a week later, play MGS4
- Complete it within thirty hours

((Guide liberally embellehed, but honestly taken from my Boss's current experience of GTPrologue))

Memorable music in flash games/movies?

Anyway, is there a particular soundtrack that stands out in terms of a flash movie or game you've played on the portal? By stand out i dont necessarily mean you liked the song... because omg you are a major radiohead fan but you just felt that the soundtrack and the game/movie work well together... one compliments the other.

provide links to the game/movie you are referring to so that people like me who never visit the portal can see what you are talking about!

Do I just built my own ghetto light box, so I can do some traditional animation, ( kinda inspired to make one because of all of the traditional animation lately.)

Only problem is though, I dont have a lamp to use with it yet.

Business Sense

Over the shoulder squad/stealth based third person shooters don't have much replay value in my book. Even being given a bandanna and a stealth suit didn't make me complete the game more than twice.

Besides. The more you have to play the game, the less time you're spending making money to pay for it with an inspired Flash game. So the more time you spend trying to get that 30 hour experience (and longer wait... :p) down to an affordable return, the less you can expect as a net profit.

Meanwhile, I'll be spending just slightly less on buying Rock Band. However, the game has a decent replay value return, and I'll be setting it up at some kind of NG event in the future (no guesses please) and filming people, rotoscoping them singing and get an easy Daily 1st for a Newgrounds focussed toon.

How's that for a cash in? :p

Exactly, In MGS3 you had to complete the game a minimum of 3 times to see everything, so that bumps it up to 90 hours at least. Plus there's the bonus games (Duel, Training Snake Vs Monkey etc). Plus the extra challenges of beating the game with 0 kills & never being spotted and finally beating the game on European Extreme, as well as doing speed runs etc. I reckon about 120-150 hours easy.

So much from moving on from VG's Luis eh.

Anyways onto musci on flashes that has stuck in my mind...

Well the Outside:Short loop by Khuskan on the Tutorial collab 08 (I'm sure everyone knows what I'm talking about) seemed to stick in my mind. I actually downloaded it for some reason.

I'm not sure as to others.

In other news I have just found an online game called tribal wars and its quite entertaining apart form the long waits as buildings take around 20 minutes to 2 hours (real time) to build. However tis still quite entertaining. Heres the link. www.tribalwars.net/

Game Music

For video games I always found that Mortal Kombats soundtrack really compliments and goes well with all the blood, gore, violence, and overall brutality of the series.
One that stands out will forever be the bridge theme for MK1 on the arcade. :3

For flash games, Alloy: Arena . It's like the music is bleeding from the art. The atmosphere in that game is wonderful.

Super Mario Hardcore deserves a mention too for it's rippin' soundtrack. : )

I'd mention NGR, but I don't wanna inflate any egos. :P jk

Also I was lookin' 'round on Tv Links the other day and...

Ah god, European Extreme on MGS2 was nearly impossible :P I remember taking a few hours each day on every screen when I was doing the defusals, plus two or three days on the bosses since you needed to know their attack patterns and have lightning sharp reactions to avoid one shot kills.

All of that just to get to the part at the end of the game where you have to hold your breath, which is literally impossible to get past without cheating. No human can bash triangle that fast.

It was pretty fun trying to beat the game nicely without killing anything, though :P Not to mention all of the dog-tags. Plus 'Rambo mode' :)

Not only that, but judging by the gameplay demos MGS4 has even more diversity of gameplay styles than before, and more explorable levels.

Flash Music
I'm a total sucker for the giant conglomerated "World" music genre, so The Yuyu got me there (and was the reason I did that street painting last year). But otherwise I find a ton of joy in music with a more classic mid-century vibe. Dad's Home and Dad's at Work both do a good job with this.

Outside of games, Ratatouille's French jazz flair was memorable for me.

I have my first DJ gig in Philadelphia tonight at a friends house. The music will be damage dance and everybodies legs will be broken by the end of it. If I don't see any naked chicks the party will be a disaster. I also need to down 2-3 40's for this party to be redonk. Later.

Computer Sound. HELP!

Ok, so I just logged onto my computer today, and my sound didn't work. I tried a couple different pairs of headphones thinking I had broke the others. None of them worked. I went to see if the sound on my computer was muted, so I went to the sound section in control panel and clicked "Advanced Sound Options" (or somethin like that) and it said that I didn't have an audio mixer. Not having sound makes it kind of hard to watch flashes and listen to music and enjoy life. I have already tried following the instructions of the error message, and I have tried restarting my computer. Has this happened to anyone here? and what do I do to get my sound back?

Oh, and when I open iTunes it says that I don't have an audio playback device so I can't listen properly to music on iTunes

here is the error message if anyone wants to see it

Ok, this has been bothering me for a while, but what the hell is a 40? I hear Americans talk about 40's all the time in music and films but am clueless to what they mean.

Also good luck DJ-ing <3

It's a 40 oz bottle of malt beer. So it's a whole lot of slightly-more-alcoholic beer that makes me feel they are so good.

More than you need to see here: http://40ouncebeer.com/40ouncebeer.html

Thanks a lot man, I'm real excited about it. Ill post some pictures and let you all know how it goes.

Haha, I know what you mean. I've literally been playing this for most of the day, trying out all the combinations. Truthfully though, what did you choose first time round? Personally I went:

Brunette > UK >Vampish > Boobs

The results are well accurate if you play an honest game.
