Yeah, I don't have a web-cam, but I'll look into getting on. When we did our project we shot it on 16mm.

I have a Mini DV and I can use it the same way as a webcam. And of course it's alot better quality.

If you wanna know the best (free) framegrabber to get, check out Monkey Jam. I haven't used it alot, but it's the one they chose to use when I was in school, so I guess it's pretty good.

Yeah I watched all of Adam Phillips thing. I watched the final 4 today. I hope he releases them over here. I'm gunna check his blog now.

GH2 comes out in Europe in a few days time- 24th November. With a nice Cherry SG (which has been in the states for a while methinks). Mind you, the 360 version of GH will come with that Xplorer controller.

Let me know if the songlist is worthwhile. Jessica and Misirlou are what I'm going to be buying the game for, although it'd be nice to know all the rest of the songs are good covers too...

Its kinda scary, my current unit looks just like that equation! the curve would be a parabola, so it would need to be factored and your just re-stating the x and y... good god man that isn't a real equation!

Wrong. The equation of the gradient is y=2x+4, thats not the equation for the curve itself.

So dy/dx = 2x+4 and you want to find y.

Therefore y=x^2 + 4x + C

As the curve travells through the point (4, 2), then 2 = 4^2 + 8 + C
Therefore C = -22

y = x^2 + 4x - 22

the gradient is the rate at which the curve is changing, dy/dx=2x+4 and y=(the equation of the curve). So you need to reverse it so y=x^(2)+4x is the equation of the curve, I believe, which would make sense because the rate of change is always changing do the curve is a parabola. Then to find it at that point you just plug it in and find the variable b which would put it on that point.
4=(2)^(2)+4*(2)+b
4=12+b
b=-8
the curve would be x^2+4x-8
