i think y school is having a $20000 contest about making a game that addresses a health issue in a fun way, like to children. i just heard about it but if i can use flash I'm definitely gonna try

Unfortunately, no...it's nowhere close to the quality of Johnny_Utah's art...but I have had a lot of people ask. :P

I don't like this stupid gecko thing everywhere either, what is he? Some kind of 21st century Top Cat? No he's a bummer.

He's cooler than the fonz.

I like that you've copied the NG links bar too. I'm not sure if that's too intentional or just being here to much. I like that it's simillar, but smaller, so your site is like a branch off of NG.

Yeah, Glaiel specifically asked for a NG feel on the header "but smaller."

CS is a good game, I sort of agree with Luis, because it's happened to me a lot and then I just removed it from my computer since it took up unneccesary space.

BUT, that game was incredible during school. Of course we're not allowed to play gun games in computer class, but we had a sub half the year because my teacher was having a baby. So, there were like 12 of us in the class that played CS online in the LAN server. Jesus Christ that was the funnest thing in the world. Half the year of CS and a little bit of work.

Then my teacher came back and removed CS from everyones folder. >=[

Wow, sweet. You can do lots of things. Interactive health hospital games that are educational, or fun action packed games like "Herpes Hunter" that are also educational. AIDS vs Predator

Lol

Or the less popular, Micheal Jackson Vs AIDS :P. Anyway, good compo, is it just for your school?

When you hear the term "football", do you think of the game with the ridiculously lopsided ball (American/Candian Football) or the game with the kicking and goals and stuff (Everywhere else Football, aka soccer).

My questioning comes with a sudden realization that quite possibly I have been on the internet too long, and have been exposed to two many undomestic people. I kept on calling it Football today at work, and people couldn't understand what the hell I was talking about with kicking and goals.

I'm actually not working on any flash projects atm. I have lots of uni stuff to do and I'm mostly focussing on Stop motion because I enjoy it the most.
The character on the left is a stone golen like the ones from Warcraft. He is made from wire with pen lid bones and sponge over the top. I still have to paint him.
The character on the right is a wizard. He is constructed in a similar way except his head is made from liquid latex. I should have used a lighter method though as his head is really heavy and makes him almost impossible to animate. If I decide to make anything with him, I need to really strengthen his legs. He isnt really complete either because his feet are unfinished andi was thinking of giving him a beard to avoid doing lip synch. His eyes aremade from small beads so they can be moved around with a needle. His fingers are wire dipped in latex. His robe I sewed. It turns out I suck at sewing, this is my 3rd attemp and is not great.
The characters are not designed to work together in a story or anything, I have designed them with separate stories in mind. I have storyboarded a sequence for the rock monster and done some test walking even though he isnt finished. I dont have it here or I would post it up somewhere.

I think the United States is desensatized to the actual scope of how huge football (elsewhere) is huge outside the United States.

Here, going to a football match is not anymore popular than going to bocce ball meetings with your grandparents on Sunday. Unless you're playing it, its not really something that is shown on TV much.

Americans arent oblivious to its popularity, they dont like it as much. theres was tons of stories and articles going around close to world cup time about people passing on huge promotions because the world cup was more important, or a house burning down and a man saves nothing but the tv and plugs it into an external outlet so he can still watch it.

we know how popular it is, we just dont care

I'm English, so the kicky bally ball one :P. I've got a question for you American folk :O.
In American Football, why do you wear so much padding? Over here, with rugby, people wear nothing but a t-shirt and a gum shield, over there you wear enormous pads, helmets and such. What is the point of so much protection?

I don't want to like/not like it without knowing the facts first :P.

Redesigning my site is something I've been wanting to do forever, like GG, and awhile back I made up a layout that I never finished. I decided to work on it a little more last night, and do a little now, and I wanted to know what some of you thought. All I have done so far is the home page, which I'm probably still going to work on, but what do you think so far....

Clicky

I don't know much scripting, just some HTML, so I designed everything through dreamweaver with some graphics from Flsah..

It's alot more violent. I think there are some good American football clips in here (and normal Football too).

I quite like American football. My friend tried to get me into it, but I don't have Sky Sports (TV channel) so couldn't follow it.

I really like it. The skulls are a nice effect :). Brings in some interactivity :P. Juts one suggestion. The news posts (the big pixel fonts) look odd. I would change them, there not terrible, but its something to think about :O.

Exceptional. The pixelled font as the heading makes it stand out (at least, I hope it's pixelled... might be a font issue on my machine...). The skulls are really well done - and look exactly the game in low quality, and itmight be an idea to force them to run that way anyhow... no one wants a site's main content to lag because the menu's running nicely.

I'd be proud of that myself. Mine as it currently stands, whilst fairly pretty, has far too much blank space for my liking. Might use it as a basis for a total Flash overhaul...

Thanks. I changed the pixel header to something cleaner, and took the suggestion into account ;)
Thanks for the compliment, and I love your site layout. It stands out really well and looks very creative. I like it a lot. =)

Has everyone been keeping up with Adam Phillips daily animations? The last one is now up.

Anyone else done any stop motion? I like it because once you have made a character you just move it and take a picture, you dont need to remake the entire character 24 times every second, just move it. much simpler

Yeah, some buddies and I made a clay, stop-motion animation for a project in highschool. It was really quite fun... I'd really like to do more someday, but I don't really have the space or rescources right now.

I love stop motion although I have never tried it. I really want to though. I was going to take a class on it in my school but I decided not to. I think it's really cool what some people on Newgrounds do with it. I'd like to at least try it, although anything having to do with art isn't really my strong point.

Response to The Flash 'Reg' Lounge 2006-11-07 15:05:42

If you have a webcam, stop motion is so incredibly simple to mess about with. A webcam costs as little as £5 and framegrabbers are free. Thats all you need to start experimenting really.
I might try doing another walking test tonight and post it later..or i mgiht watch a film.
