I have the exact same problem dude.

It sucks, because I don't think Flash is the greatest for exporting to quicktime.
I think it's probably easier to assess the animation using video because of the ability to scrub through the animation and play back any part you want, rather than having a coded timeline scroll bar in a .swf.

But yeah, my uni uses macs because apparently, according to most of the lecturers there, it's the best for design based projects, such as animation, music, video, art etc. :/
We export to Quicktime as well since i guess it is THE mac media player.

But I haven't been too successful with keeping my projects as a crisp and smooth quicktime video.
I know Flash CS3 has some better options with exporting it as a .mov, but I only have Flash 8 at home :S and I use a pc.

Maybe there's some awesome ".swf to .mov file converter" out there somewhere. I guess google is your friend there.

Simple pleasures

Anyone have like those uber simple pleasures ... like something so simple but that makes you feel good.

Hand-dryers. I could spend hours with my hands underneath those things :) Especially on cold, winter days.

We have a really, really bad one in out common-room toilets. It's like having some old guy blowing on your hands, seriously. It also overheats really easily since the fan is too weak to disperse all of the heat, so if you use one for more than thirty seconds (which isn't nearly enough time to dry yourself under it) it cuts out on you.

Now, the lower school hand-dryer; that is where it's at. High power, great sensitivity and that funny little tilty thing which gives you a burst of air in your face, which feels great with long hair. There are also two of them together, so it's a decent place to hang out with other hand-dryer loving freaks :P

The best one by far is in the toilets at ASDA, though. Seriously, if I accurately described its power to you, you'd just think I was exaggerating. It is unbelievable. It's like someone stuck a jet engine in a wall. If you hold your hand less than a foot away, you can actually see the skin getting blown back on your hand. It's the most epic hand-drying you'll ever experience. ASDA is basically UK's Wal-Mart, so you guys over the pond might have something similar in yours.

Ones at train-stations are generally pretty so-so. I can't believe I just spent a post reviewing hand-dryers :s

Went to an open day at northumbria uni, we were all obsessed with the hand driers in loo's.

Basicly, imagine a tall 'U' shape with one leg stuck on wall

you put your hands down inside of the U shape, and high powered burst of cool air which litereally rips the water from your hands almost isntantly.

So ofcourse some idiot puts crisps in it and they go everywhere :P

I love when people are nice when driving. Whether this is stopping for someone in the crosswalk, or letting you go first when you reach the 4-way stop at the same time, people who are courteous drivers restore my faith in humanity. I never know why everyone is always in a rush.

Ok so last year we went on a trip to quebec. We had a room of four guys and we played strip poker, don't question our orientation, we were just bored. ANYWAYS, besides the fact that I won, this one kid had to take off his shirt and a third nipple, or NUBBIN as he called it was present in the dead center of his chest. We made him forfeit the game and just put his shirt back on. It was nasty.
