IWP
Anyone think the author is getting too much hate for his work? I am curious what people think about all this. Some of it I actually really enjoy (like the Amityville Toaster episode) but I am always stunned by the amount of hatred over the series.

As in they [Matt Stone and Trey Parker] imitated him, because they always imitate any voice and character. I can bet you that it wasn't actually him, just to tell you.
except he never talked, they just played the song.
As if presidente didn't try to rain on the parade enough, you have to jump in. The point is that numa numa showed up on south park, and while most people probably don't know it, it showed up first on newgrounds, so it's like a piece of ng is on south park.

i wasn't trying to rain on his parade, I was just saying they didn't imitate the voice because they didn't use a voice. I thought that bit was awesome.

I probably wouldn't have watched that if you didn't say it was good, but I'm glad I did. That was actually pretty funny. I dig the jingle at the end.

As for the most of his other stuff, I'm not that into it. As far as little clever stories go, I guess they are alright, but I'd prefer an interesting animation to watch with a shitty story rather than a great story but shitty animation.

People just feel compelled to counterbalance all the rabid fanboys, IMO. I mean, you literally can't leave an honest review for an IWP toon giving less than 7/10 without being flagged as abusive.

I honestly think it's because a lot of NG users think he "sold out". With all the dvd's and shirts and such in Hot Topic and other stores many NG users feel it's too mainstream.

Look at what happened to Green Day. They came back with American Idiot and had a mianstream hit. Then a group of ex-fans appeared that hated their guts because they "sold out". Now I don't know why people care about mainstream or not, but I thought a few of those songs were good.

Green Day didn't sell out because they had a mainstream album. They sold out because they started wearing manscarra and shit and changed their image to look cool. Jeez.

RE: IWP

I think NewGrounds was in another generation when IWP started pumping out his cartoons. I think the whole flash community was. There's more and more amazing content being put out now than there ever was 5 years ago. IWP's place in the spotlight is gone, but I won't hate him for it. Rants will always be popular with some crowds (I notice a lot of goth kids love the shit out of Neurotically Yours), so he'll never go away.

I'm pretty indifferent. I usually won't watch it if I have the choice, though.

Some of it's good, but it's not new...it's old, he's done it and done it and done it to death. Some of the dialog is interesting, some of it is true, and some of it is funny, but the characters are sooooooo old, so what's interesting about that. I mean it has two characters, you think he could add some other characters to keep it interesting, or maybe redraw something for once, get a new loader, present it differently, he could do things with it, but it appears to me that he doesn't care about it... people like it the same old old old way it is, and I guess his motivation isn't creativity. It's just not interesting to eat oatmeal every single day, even if it tastes alright.

Exporting to Quicktime

For most of my Flash Projects at school I'm required to export them as Quicktime files rather than .swfs. Don't ask me why, but that's what the teach wants. I've been having a lot of problems getting my Flash movies to run smoothly and not get pixelated when viewing the export file. I have the highest quality settings, but some of it still looks off.

It's hard to explain, but lets say I tween a ball across the screen. Sometimes, some bits of the ball graphic will be left behind for a second and then they will disappear. It's bizarre. Any help?

And really bad, he made a whole account that looks just like JohnnyUtha's, I mean, he actually spent time bothering to copy all the text and images and uploading them, he must have a sad lonely life..
But let's not give him the attention he wants...

too late

Damn, these people are gullible nowadays.

Anyway, moving on...

Snacks You Love
I go through different snacking trends every so often. Right now, I crave either those tasty Goldfish crackers (who said they were only for kids? :( ), or crackers and hummus. Usually these two things boost productivity -- both schoolwork and Flash-wise.

Anyone have any snacks that they will never tire of eating? Delectable morsels that make them strangely feel better after eating, even though it's only food?

Let me tell you about Cheezits.

They are a little cracker about 1" (2.54 cm) square, that is made of real cheese and whatever crackers are made of. I used to eat a box of these in one sitting... but it didn't stop there. I got really addicted to them, as people get addicted to alcohol. It was really bad, my roommates started restraining how much I ate them by hiding the boxes around the house.

I started to realize that eating a box of them in one sitting was too expensive (almost 4 bucks). So I started going to a warehouse store to pick up mass quantities of them. They came in 3 LB (1.3 kg) boxes, to be exact. I sat down one day and tried to eat the whole thing, engorging myself on the orange snack cracker, and after two hours I did. 3 lbs of those damn crackers.

I felt so sick the rest of the day. And from that point on, I became aware of my addiction and cut back. To this day I have been Cheezit free for two months.

RE: Cheeze its
I agree with that. My addiction is with ritz crackers tho.

Simple Pleasures
Anyone have like those uber simple pleasures ... like something so simple but that makes you feel good.

One of em would be having my feet in sand.... theres like something so relaxing about sitting in the beach or whatever and just shifting sand with your toes...

Or like pouring the last bit out of the cereal box and it just happens to be enough for one more bowl. i will be in a good mood the whole day when that happens.

I'm eating cheezits right now. I've finished a box in a day before, but I don't think I've ever done one sitting. They certainly are a delicious little treat. Makes you want one now doesn't it? That cheesy salty little morsel of deliciousness. COME TO THE DARK SIDE
