THANKS
I dont think I said thank you for all the feedback on that game. Theres nothing more satisfying than to get props from other peers in the flash scene. That in itself is worth atleast 100 of the brainless reviews. Sincere thank you to everyone.
I can only repay you in internet hearts <3 <3

The Beard
is awesome. Loved the presentation, though I've not yet FULLY beaten it...
AS wars
Looking forward to it.
I guess a circular arena will eliminate my corner camping strategies...

Awesome game.
Sometimes it wouldn't let me jump. But I still beat it.
One question, what comes after the gold sword? I beat the game before I got the upgrade.
Yes, thanks y'alls for the props!
What's this "I can't jump" stuff? Is it cuz you're standing under a platform? You can't jump through solid land. Also, there's a slight delay before you jump so the little guys can get some momentum built up. Sometimes you'll get hit by the laser and cancel out your jump during that brief "jump load."
I've never experienced a "can't jump" scenario. Maybe PM me the details. ie: who you were using, what were the circumstances, were you pressing up, etc.

Sorry for double post but I have a question.
I am not positive, but isn't using other persons art work without permission and submitting it under your name copyright infringement?
yes, people who make sprite movies are taking a risk...but it's not very likely the corporations will stoop down to spank someone who uses their game sprites... using copyright music like music from cds is also copyright infringement and illegal, so that's a risk as well. It'd probably be easiest just to steer clear and use ng audio and make your own stuff.
A website I made about Sprite usage:
Hi there!
Traveling Out-of-Country
Wow, I haven't been here for like a month.
Anyways, for Spring Break, I'm going to Germany. I was wondering if anyone had some tips or tricks to traveling abroad or if anyone had some nice suggestions for place to hit.
Germany
We went to a bar called The Klo (The Toilet). Everything is toilet themed. The drinks are served in bed pans and various other containers. Some of the chairs are toilets, toilet paper for napkins... the whole thing is hilarious and we had so much fun getting shit-faced there!! The very back room is like a grave. It has a coffin for a table and every so often the ceiling (which looks like rocks so you feel like you're buried) will rumble and drop a bit. It's like a theme park dive bar! Crazy good times!
:Top left image is beer, but I can't tell you what's in any of the others... except alcohol, lots and lots of alcohol!

Their's alcohol, that's all that matters. Mans best friend and traveling companion.
Givin' the history of Germany and WW1 & 2. I'm sure their's some interesting ex-nazi camps you could check out.
Im adventurous and love alcohol as much as the next guy.. but im not drinking from a bedpan no matter how many times they've washed it lmao.

Are all the straws there basically catheders? man, even lookinging at one of those makes the little guy shiver.

If they washed it 5 times I think it is ok ;)
Collabs
I'm sick of animation-collabs. There are too many!
Someone should make a ActionScript-collab!
RE: Collabs.
It's true there are too many right now. Some of them I think are pretty good though and will end in good movies. That one with the Dark Lotus song and a lot of the others are just doomed though. NG-Collabs used to take all of this nonsense, but without it being as strong as it used to be, they're all back here now.
I'm actually participating in my first. It's fun when it's a good idea.
(Though I just lost like 30 minutes worth of animating...grrrr)
Collabs...
That along with noobies will never go away. I've resigned myself to just going into threads I know I can be useful in. It is annoying though when half of page one is yada-yada collab.

Got that. A serious class-oriented one.
I'm making a physics based game but once again I can't be arsed to do all of it. So I'll clean it up and open an SVN and call that a collab. (Unless, ofcourse, I won't. -_-)
Collabs
It's not so much the quantity that's annoying as the collabs which loads of newer users join thinking they're going to get their stuff out there, when it's clear that they're just going to get dropped or disregarded after the first week because the person running it has ADD or no idea how to organise anything.
The collab starters who clearly have little actual skill or commitment, and a 3+ BA which consists entirely of three or so collabs are annoying too. They leech off of the naivety of people who join and are actually prepared to put the work in.
Useless Posts?
I've noticed this happening a lot. The whole, I would like to help but I'm busy response. What's the point of it? If you can't help because you're busy, don't post and work on what's making you busy! I really never got the point of making a post like that. Not only is it a waste of time but it's a let down. Especially when you're anxious for a response to your thread and someone makes a stupid post like that.
AS Collab
There's been plenty of attempts. It just takes too much effort to program. Not only that programming is universal, unlike animation which comes in different styles and qualities. Also, with AS you can either program it or you can't, so the target participants are really refined. By this i mean the more experienced, and we all know that the more experience you have the less reliable you become due to such high demand on your time.
I would participate, but I'm busy. Sounds like a good idea though!
RE: Useless Posts
Listen, I'd really like to comment on how all those folks are doing is bragging about how in demand there work is or how they simply want the +1 post count, but I'm really busy with other projects right now. Maybe later I'll see.

Oh lawdy.
RE: Useless Posts
The thing that's more annoying than "I don't know posts" are the people who post the answers to already answered questions. I'm mean like 3 or 4 hours after the original answer. Happens all the time in Wi/Ht?

I see it here a lot too, specially in threads like "Where can I get flash". I look into the thread, just to see, and the first response is usually something like "Flash is too expensive don't bother." Ok...
Then the next post is usually a nice, well thought out helpful post with links pertaining to the topic. Which is great, but then the next 4 or 5 posts are inevitably that same helpful post reworded 5 times with maybe one new link.
I hate that.

Well, I tend to re-answer stuff a lot purely because there're a lot of people in the Flash forum who think they're awesome coders who can help people, when clearly they've just copied and pasted from some tutorial. So you'll get a question like "How do I do a platformer?", and someone'll be like:
copy this into your guy and then put the vcam over it
Ridiculously inefficient, untyped and unhelpful code
And I'll feel obliged to give a better answer :P
People who just don't read threads through before posting, though, are pretty annoying.
nah, what i find most annoying is the people that answer a question in here or elsewhere with 'i dont know' that's much more annoying to me.
Useless Posts
I of course find it annoying when people just say "I don't know", but if someone leaves just a little comment, or even "wow, that looks hard" I don't mind at all. I mean if you were talking to someone in a conversation you might say those sorts of things, and overall it adds a little more socialness to the Flash forum, which could just end up as QUESTION >> ANSWER.... and that is dull.
AS Collab
I'd really like one but I guess it's hard to have a subject and people always want to do their own games.

Give each person a different level, with different gameplay.
