That one, and also There Will be Blood, it's has a frickin' 8,9 on ImDB.
HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!
We're working hard to give you the best site possible, but we have bills to pay and community support is vital to keep things going and growing. Thank you for considering!

I Am Legend
- I thought this movie actually worked out pretty well. There was something about it that I liked, like a sort of desperate feel. As weird as Will SMith can be, he's actually not that bad of an actor. I liked the ending too, most people seemed to have a problem with it, but I thought it worked...
No Country For Old Men
- Beautiful movie. The villain was cast PERFECTLY. The entire movie was surreal. It really blew my mind
Cloverfield
-Very cool movie. People who don't like this movie all say the same things "Why didn't it tell us where the monster was from? or how it got there" "Nothing was resolved!" What these people don't understand is that thats not what the movie was about. Think about it, if you are in NYC and a huge fucking thing comes and rips shit apart, your not going to be wondering what it was too much...more along the lines of LETS GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE. It was real creepy, but as true as it could have been for being an impossible plot. Definitely entertaining, but not the BEST.
There Will Be Blood
-I have yet to see it, but I must. Phillip Seymore Hoffmen is a beast and wins best actor in everything he does. I need to catch this movie...
Teeth
-Best movie I've seen in the 08. PERIOD. That is all.

that's just disturbing

I'd tap that.

I think you mean Daniel Day-Lewis? Hoffman isn't in that one, but he is up for either Best Actor or Supporting, I can't really remember which.
While we're on the topic of movies though, here's a growing list of what I want to see in 2008 (so far):
Movies in '08
- Be Kind, Rewind (was supposed to be out in the Jan-Feb range but I think it's getting pushed back to April, 'shame.)
- Speed Racer
- Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull (to be releasing a 4th almost 20 years later means it's gotta be incredibly good, I just hope Shia Shitbuff doesn't ruin it)
- The Dark Knight
- Wall-E
- The Bank Job (British Heist Movie)
- Iron Man
- Hellboy II: The Golden Army ( I think I need to rewatch the first one, I remember it having such a cool/dark style that it made me want to see this one)
- Where The Wild Things Are (comes out in the fall)
- Bond Movie: Quantum of Solace (I'll probably see it, I just put it on here because I will end up seeing it and not because I'm super excited about seeing it)
- Harry Potter 6 (See above)
Yep, so 2008 seems like a huge movie year, even bigger than last year's line-up which is saying something. There's a lot of heavy-hitters coming out but I think I'm most looking forward to The Dark Knight, Wall-E, Indiana Jones, and Speed Racer. What are you guys looking forward to seeing?
always behind schedule.

iPhone
I spent the entire weekend, literally, trying to get my iPhone to work in Holland. It looks like I finally did it, it's a beauty.

How can you be so sure of that? I don't have a lot of hope for this one. The three star wars movies released 20 years later weren't that good either. Of all the big movies, I'm only looking forward to the new batman.

Attack of the killer relevant, popular article.
For those of you who haven't looked at it already :P

I've seen that article before :). My dad actually won it, I couldn't say no to a free iPhone.

Whos Lewis?
08 movies.
My list is more or less identical to Connors, in terms of big releases. I don't share his thoughts on Indy 4, but I do want to see it badly anyway. Agreed with AITD, in fact more so. I think the new Star Wars movies were some of the worst movies of all time.
Also I am definitely NOT seeing Harry Potter 6. Those Potter movies are pure shit, much like the rubbish books they're based on.
I also plan on seeing many more movie than this though. I generally see a couple hundred movies a year. For months at a time, I watch a movie I haven't seen everyday.
As for Patu's comment on Donnie Darko, don't listen to him. Donnie Darko is brilliant in it's own way.
Grammy
The ceremonies tonight, right?
Indiana Jones
To MRat and AITD:
Maybe I was exaggerating a bit but I really don't think it's gonna go the Star Wars route (i.e. pure shit). Lucas had total control of that franchise and drove it into the ground, but Spielberg's always been behind the wheel of Jones and he's not about to mess it up. Half the reason the new star wars sucked (particularly Episode 2) was because Lucas tried to recreate the feeling of the Original trilogy by picking a no name (Mark Hammil) and it ended up backfiring with the shitty choice of Hayden Shitshensen. Harrison Ford's a great actor, and I don't think he would sign on either if it wasn't a great plot/writing because it's probably going to be one of/ if not his last movie(s). Neither Spielberg or Ford want to tarnish the reputation of the series and Spielberg's only made hits his entire life (JP: Lost World's debatable but that's only b/c he basically directed the movie over the phone). Plus, the Indy series has always been pretty spaced out - Temple of doom came 4 years after Raiders and Last Crusade came almost 7 years after that, and Crusade is arguably the best of the series. Honestly, the only thing I can think of that could come even close to ruining the movie is the (in my opinion) poor choice of the comic relief character Shia Laboeuf plays, but even that's better than Short Round from Temple. I think it's really gonna be a great movie, there's too much experience behind this movie to turn out a bomb.
always behind schedule.

Jinas finalist at TGSNT 2008
Yay, my flash short Jinas: A New Friend has been selected as a finalist at The Greatest Story Never Told competition. However, they need a mov file of my animation. So my question is: does anybody have a converter that converts swf files into quicktime mov files? If so, could you please convert the file for me, since I don't have one. It would be greatly appreciated!

In Flash you can change your export properties to .mov files. The quality would probably be better if you do it from the raw file its self rather than converting a .swf. I'm using CS3...I can't actually remember if previous versions of Flash had this same feature...
Either way, CONGRATULATIONS!! That's an awesome achievement. While Newgrounds generates a lot of hype on well made flashes, your getting recognition from people and places that possibly have never even been to NG. That's definitely cool man. Keep it up. I can't wait for more Jinas.
Congrats AOTD. I won't be able to help you out much, but I wish you the best of luck.

I use flash 8 and it does have the .mov export option. However I'm pretty sure movieclips don't play if you do it that way.
CS3 has some kind of crazy screen record thing for .avi files though, maybe its the same for .mov files. Just a suggestion, try checking it out.
Violent Hockey
I went to a hockey game tonight between the Sabres and the Panthers, and one of the players got his neck cut open and he bled all over the ice. Play was stopped for about 10 minutes as about a pint of Richard Zednik's blood was cleaned off the ice. It was pretty bad.
the wings last night, some tdude took a puck to the face and it broke his jaw, 2 metal plates and 15 screws!
