Oh great. That means that if this trend catches on, I'd be compelled to make a sequel to Luis and the Cloud Sigs, and you'd have to make a new blocks-in-grass painting for the next Sketchbook Tour.

RE: College

You know, i really wasn't all that excited when i got accepted. Probably because it was not a hard school to get into at all and i had fairly deacent marks. But it really wasn't anything special.

Yeah I forgot they listed it as programs not entire years so I guess it looked a lot cheaper then it actually is, still great value for the amount of stuff you get though. It seems like there's this whole slew of flash regs and forum users that are all going into college now, it's weird thinking about that. I just remember like one kid being in college when I started coming here, everyone else seemed to be around my age (that kid was Stem btw) and now we've all kind of stuck around.

Tombraider

I was checking out Ghostbot's site (esurance guys) and I came across this post in their news section about one of their artist friends who made an animated series of Tombraider. This is the main Tombraider page, just click the center white square with the animated Lara Croft that says "A Complicated Woman" and it should take you to Episode 10: A Complicated Woman. I think this might've been done in AfterEffects with some flash elements or something because the lighting looks photoshop filtered. I really love the style to it though, it's definitely worth a look though. Check it.

Sheridan

I applied for teh Fall 08 semester there. And to Seneca. And Loyalist. And some others, haha. John K. went to Sheridan, but he dropped out.

Cars

I always made an effort to keep up a bit on cars because my friends were into them, but I myself never much cared. If I can drive it from point A to point B, it's good enough for me.

Cars

For some reason, I feel strangely compelled lately to get into cars. I want to buy and fix up a car to make it sweet. Funny, because i've never really been much into cars previously.

mopedding through a blizzard

Well, what can you say, i wasn't going to leave it at school and get the bus, so i decided to just go with it, 30 minutes of it.

Roads weren't too bad, a bit wet and got slushier and slushier as i got home, as did the blizzard get heavier and heavier and it was extremely windy, not a good experiance i can tell you.

Yeah, we had a pretty heavy blizzard here in Sweden yesterday aswell.
It took my papers with passwords I just printed out, and threw it in the lake. :/ I had to go up and print it again. Took an extra 10 mins.
I was mad.

Cool words
Is chelax (chill+relax) a cool word in the US? I've heard it is but is sounds kinda dorky...

Wow pretty awesome stuff. I checked out the latest one and saw it was created by Jim Lee. A frickin legend in the comic industry, but i was slightly disappointed when i saw the animated version. He is an awesome comic artist, but apparently not much of an animator.
Then i checked out the first one which is by one of my favorite animators: Peter Chung and it simply blew it away. I like how all the episodes are made by different artists. I wonder how they got such acclaimed artists working on that internet series.

Tombraider & Ghostbot

I liked the ssamples by Ghostbot, I've always really loved the esurance commercials.. but i almost feel embarassed liking a fucking car insurance company's commercials. It's a style that would live happily in the flash medium i would think.
Havent seen too much of it here on the portal. Wouldnt it be so refreshing to see like something in that style for pico day... while I'm on the subject, I really hope that anyone participating in that considers going out on a limb. Like maybe really distorting or having fun with Pico and his friends. The Tombraider thing with different artists approaching it in their own way is very intruiging and I think it'd be equally refreshing to like see artists interpret Pico and them in their own way or in an unusual way even.

Jim Lee & other comic legends

I like his work, I havent seen too much of it as of late because im no longer into comics but him and Rob Liefield (?) were my favorite artists.... there was something disgustingly cool about Rob's totally unproportional characters with muscles the size of watermelons and veins that could double as streeet plumbing.

Ugh, I hate rob liefield, he's a no talent hack who was only saved by ink and color artists...that and he couldn't draw feet, so he always hid them behind stuff.

Lol to each his own. I stopped liking comics before image comics was on the map anyway... i was more refering to him as the artist for Marvel's Cable.. dunno if his shit evolved and got worse over time. Its possible. OR we'll just agree to disagree. Cuz ill ban ya for no good reason like the general mods.

Art Contest

Any idea when the next one will be? I wasn't a big fan of the last one but it had some great submissions, and I'm hoping they do another one like the Cereal box one or something along those lines. Forget the prizes, I just love making stuff for those contests and seeing what everyone else came up with. What's the reason they haven't done any contests in a few months - the time that goes into judging them, money issues, what? Or have they just been waiting for something...?

I smell theft. The NG user lists vgcats his webpage, but I'm skeptical that its actually 'him'.

Oh Newgrounds, you and your ethical user base.

I made a topic about this a while ago, but it got locked/deleted/ignored.

I doubted it, greatly. But, I've seen no action taken.

Cabin In Tenn.

Omg... I'm like in a three floor cabin in tennessee and it is sooooooo freakin' awesome guys! It's my whole family from florida and we're here in the cabin. We're having some down time since everyone is tired from the road trip (which ended up taking 13 hours!) so I decided to give you guys a shout out.

I've gotten so many wonderful inspriations from this state, the landscape alone is so vastly different from Florida it's even more breath taking. Long story short: I think the RPG i've been working on just got a major boost in the best direction possible.

:)

At 2/1/08 10:28 PM, ImpendingRiot wrote: That's different, Ng Collabs has a lot more odds of working. Someone would actually have to make an effort, and read someones recommendations, in theory, to actually end up there. That in itself circumvents a lot of these half assed "I hav a gr8 sonic and master chief idea" posts. If there was a collab section forum on Newgrounds, I think it would quickly become a cespool of half assed impulsive thoughts. I mean shit, the art forum seemed hopeful, but even now there's people that don't get the simple rule don't make a post without art, I can only imagine trying to enforce collab standards. I wasn't trying to discredit NG Collabs or it's moderators, I just think that having such an easily accessed area for collabs would be bad, if that makes sense.

It's cool. I was just trying to demonstrate that there was a place for it, no matter how shitty it is now.

back in the day, there was talk of it somehow merging with NG, but Tom decided that he was going to make it more friendly for collabs here.

So, we got the shaft.

now, we kinda struggle along as it is, but we only have a few decent members, and we still kinda exist, but I'd be happier if we had merged with NG.

Regardless, as has been said many times before, way, Way too many shit collabs.

Pico Day

If I get to it, chances are my Pico toon will be something highly strange in terms to the approach I'll be taking with the material. I'm aging them, to their early twenties, they all have budding careers. Pico got really tall and lanky. Nene is a prostitute (suprise suprise). Oh, Darnell's dead. He only had 5 days to live. You get him in a flashback though.

My toon will have tentacles, lots and lots of tentacles. Not gay anime rape ones, real Lovecraftian ones. It will also have plenty of knives.
