NG Volleyball

I had made a userpost about this but i may get better feedback from you druglords.
Basically I had it in my mind to make a volleyball game ... sounds like a snoozer i know but i wanted to add some quirks to it to give it a fresh spin. I'm just sort of gathering up ideas of things that people may find fun. Such as unusual powerups and what not.

Mostly placeholder art below. I have the power meter backwards and i was thinking of maybe having a turbo meter below it.. something nba jam if anyone remembers that.

Pot

I've never smoked pot before, probably never will. Those kind of things don't appeal to me much.

They brainwash everyone so early into thinking that it's deadly and "bad" so much, that by the time you're in high school 90% of the school is smoking pot. Maybe if they tried some REVERSE PSYCHOLOGY it would work better. Maybe "It's not the worst thing you could do, but it's expensive" kinda thing.

The thing that annoys me about it is how people that smoke it can't ever shut up about smoking it. In class (generally not the AP classes), all I ever here is "Man i was so baked last night." or "Hey philbert can I smoke in your car?" They aren't trying to even talk to their friends about it, they say it unusually loud so that everyone can hear about it.

I don't care if you use it so shut up about it.

Also, I'm all for legalizing it, it's not as dangerous as cigarettes anyway, and if they legalized it then they could control it.

Anyway it seems to prove my point about how everyone here who's done pot was more than eager to flaunt that fact.

Thats one way to look at it i suppose. i dont do freelance anymore thus i have no need to really push my site, so why not use my powers for a site i want to see succeed. i find it easier to get tom to sign off on my ideas than sponsors who just want to cram their logos into my shit. I like that tom trusts my ideas and supports em without running me through a fine tooth comb the way regular sponsors would.

For sure ya need a Angry Faic powerup which gives the player super-strength to super-spike the ball. :)
Maybe something to screw around with your opponet too. Like have a beer powerup or something like that and when ya get it, it's actually bad and your character throws up (it's powerful beer) so he throws up and it takes a few seconds (20-40) for it to disappear, however while it's their characters are able to trip and slide on it which slows 'em down.
Powerups are fun but if ya throw in something just to screw poeple up they need to think more which makes it more challaging and overall more fun... that's what I think anyway. :P
Also: What characters ya plannin' to put in there?

Vengeance has posted a new blog entry about our new game (which we havent thought of a definate title for yet)... It got a video gameplay demo which you can watch here if youre interested!

It plays similarly to staggy, where you upgrade your weapons and things between rounds with money you have earnt... its really addictive to play!

Anyway, feedback/thoughts/ideas would be greatly appriciated, and itd also be cool if anyone has any ideas for a name!

I was playing Ninja Turtles: Turtles in time and it dawned on me that it would be cool to have something similar to the Krang thats in level 1 but have it be Wadolf.. like he'll pop up randomly and have those lasers scanning the terrain and you have to like jump around em until he falls below the screen again.

The reasons most Asian dialects are NOT exactly easy to learn is because of all of the accents and vocal stresses...which the English language is almost completely without. I am able to somewhat hold and conversation in German and but I can definitely get by at least by using it. I took Spanish in middle school and I'm surprised how much of it I remember, however I couldn't communicate very effectively with one.

I went to Holland over the summer actually and spent a week in Amsterdam. I coordinated my trip with the 5 Days Off which basically ended up in the most hardcore partying ever. Voddy Redbull and DJs I would have KILLED to see every night from 11:00 to 04:00. Not only that, but the last day there ended in the worlds LARGEST dance event which was probably some of the most fun I've ever had. We left at 9:00 PM and didn't get back to the hotel until 07:00 the next morning. SOOOO RAD. Plus, everyone wears white to the event, so it looks all crazy. If you are Facebook friends with me, you can see pictures.

Also, you'll be just fine if you only speak English there, EVERYONE speaks English.

Contrary to popular belief, it is hard for German people to understand Dutch. They pronounce everything differently. The basis of each language is EXACTLY the same, but because the pronunciations and and stresses are so different, it makes it crazy hard.

That's sort of correct. Everybody can at least speak dutch and english and most speak german, especially since it is kind of similar to dutch. Dutch is not an easy language to learn though, far from that. There are so many exceptions in plurals and in the way even the most common words are used that it gets really tedious to learn it. But yeah what's the point of learning it, only people in Holland, Belgium and Suriname speak it and it's not like any of those countries are going to take over the world any time soon. Maybe learning chinese will be something a lot more useful since their economy is completely steamrolling over the western and usa economy at the moment

thankes about the landing the problem is that i didn't take the time to animate
the handes from over him to their regular postion and that i shuld have put the ending pose more to he right so it wuld look more backflippy and less

well because i just started and its actually not even coded.. i just wanted to get a full spriteset done so that when it did get started coding i could have the actionscripter off my back while i plug in other stuff
