Well, I think it could seriously kick arse. And considering the small amount of effort required, I'd really hope others would be willing to join in whilst we all decide what else to do.

Just to recap - we pick a sentence. Say, 'We are the Flash forum regs and we can do some amazing things.' Then each person animates one word being spoken and at the end we all strike a pose in a line-up of mcs.

It's a 'real' collaboration - each part is an important part of the greater whole with the sentence and we're even sharing screentime with the lineup.

It'll be easy enough for everyone to finish - heck it's probably more effort for me to convince you than it'll be to get my part done.

It still allows for creativity - you don't need to necessarily draw yourself or even a human speaking. Could be an anthropomorphised washing machine, a disembodied mouth or maybe just play with some abstract representation of 'speaking'. And thanks to the short time span, you can try some new animation technique without suddenly realising half-way through that it'll be too labour intensive. Maybe stop-motion with tangerines forming pictures or some traditional animation?

And whilst it'll be really short - like 11s - I'm certain it'll be an animation that'll knock folk back thanks to the quality and ingenuity. Folk'll enjoy it, want to watch it again and smile at the memory.

It wouldn't be the 3-course gourmet meal that we've wanted to prepare for a while, but it'd be the appetiser. And what an appetiser.

Awesome Collab -> Low Score
Meh.. I find this kinda frustrating. First off, watch this collab. Yes, I know they're sticks. Yes, I know my top 3 favorite flashes are sticks (including this one). But if you look at the quality of the animation it's just plain great. Great great great. And who doesn't like watching sticks kill eachother (heh)? But it only has a score of 3.38. Then there are crap collabs that get scores in the 3.8-9, daily awards and everything else. And those collabs are usually crap (Yes I have been in collabs like those). I just found this frustrating. Is it because of the sticks? Probably, but even so. The animation was wonderful while most music collabs or collabs in general have crap animation (without sticks).. Just my opinion on collabs in general I guess :/ Yes I know that not all good collabs have low scores etc etc... Anyways I'm going to play Darwinia now.

I agree - the animation was definitely of high enough quality to deserve a better score there. The only real flaw I could see with it was the lack of audio optimisation, which could have cut the file size down massively. Sound should only be at maximum quality when you're just listening to it.

Urge to work.
Ya ever get a seemingly undieing and irresitable urge to work. To work on flash, to do something for someone, ya get the idea... The last few days I've become a workaholic I don't know why. Maybe it's because I broke up with my girlfriend(I'm 100% NGer now :D) and am tryin' to forget about it. Anyway this brings a good topic a think.
Work just work. What's your opinions on work? Should it be your hobby? Should it be fun? Or should it be hard labour that we all just have to deal with? I've had poeple telling me for years not to make work your hobby 'cause it ruins it apparently. What's your experinces in work?
I've had a few horrible experinces with bosses yelling at me, but I've also had great ones where tons of poeple praised me. My favorite work I ever did was just shoveling poeples driveways for 'em durring winter. I was my own boss, poeple payed me what they thought was reasonable, and all in all I perfer physical labour over other things. (Except flash. :3)

I agree with Vengeance's first response ( i think it was vengeance.. ) that it'd be like gloating sort of. But also it reminds me of the NG 10th anniversary collab which happened a couple of years ago. It could be a bit of a boring outcome.

Thats cool. I've not really felt that before, although at work i'll be commited to doing the physical stuff (shelf stacking hah) rather than serving customers. I will try and make a quality job of what i'm doing if say im facing up the shelves or whatever. Im a lot more commited at work than I am at home, im free to be lazy at home, wont bother tidying up; but at work I will just fore the sake of it.

My dad was tellin me about this mate of his who was really commited to his job. He got a job in WH Smiths at one point, and eventually got fired for being too over the top about neatness, like he'd be in there facing up the magazines, and pulling them all out because they're in the wrong place then puttin them back in. I think thats bordering on madness more than commitment :)

lol yeah way too low score. Everyone at shiftlimits was pissed at why it got such a low score. I really dunno why it it got such a low score, my prediction is that a low score is what helps a viewer judge the flash. Saying that an awesome flash came out with 3.60 then the viewers will rate it based on the rating it already has. The sekret collab came out with like a 3.25 and everyone at shiftlimits was fucking pissed, I'm so pissed I'm gunna vote 5 on it for the next week.

Well, you can stop bitching, the score went up to a 3.55, but it's probably just because everyone in the movie told their friends to vote 5.

Also, here's why it deserved a low score;

a. The music sucked. Nobody wants to listen to that emo whining shit.
b. It's stick figures. No matter who did it, it's still stickfigures, which is one of the lowest forms of animation, only slightly above random fbf.
c. The submitter only has his name and no CA's, though it's obvious more people worked on the collab, thus due credit is not being given.
d. The name is non-descriptive, so nobody wants to watch it. Or, they think the submitter is a retard who can't spell "secret".
e. Off-site collabs rarely get as much exposure as on-site, hence less interest.

Good enough reasons for you? And next time, include a link to the movie so we don't have to go hunting for it to be able to reply to your bitching.

No, he meant it with the 16,000 frames...

16,000 / 120 = 133.333...seconds...which means that it would be around a two minute movie. I would kill someone if I did a 16,000 frame movie and it only turned out to be like two minutes long.

That isn't the longest though since you can have animations in different MovieClips but there still is a limit to the number of MovieClips though so yeah, you can count that out if you want.
