I kinda was hoping for a little higher of a score. Thought newgrounds would be into the whole random death thing. Oh wells, posotive feedback from the forum redeems it enough for me. You sick bastards. lol.
It's too dead in the lounge right now......... LET THEIR BE TOPICS!
Site Management.
Man... I had to take a crash course in HTML scripting and terms of sites like bandwidth and a bunch of stuff I still don't understand. At the end of the day I got a bunch of ads and referal links where money can be made which is nice but still, I never knew/realized how much goes on behind sites. This stuff can be real stressful. And my site by all means is still crap. I haven't even begun to touch up and make it all shiny yet. :S
Sickness.
I've had the stomach flu for a week now and it's begining to piss me off... Everyone down he has had it already it seems. Now I got a bunch of school work to catch up on... Err... Someone take me outback and shoot me! How's the health in your guyses areas?
eclipsehosters
Been talkin' to a cool cat named Phil at eclipsehosters. Even did some free flash work for him. He helped me out a lot these passed few days teachin' me about sites. Awesome guy and his company is really sweet too. They try to get to a personal level with the poeple. Not treat ya like a number. It's pleasent. Sort of reminds me of Armor Games' approuched. Nice, friendly, understand. I like that... Now why can't all companies and junk be like that?
Bests Ads for sites.
What do you think are the bests ads to put on your site? Google Ads? Adbrite stuff? Or this clicksor thing?

I don't think there's any set answer to that. Different types of ads will perform better on different types of sites. There's an art to it.
A great way to learn more is attend something like ad-tech: http://www.ad-tech.com/ny/ EVERY advertising company will be there. It seems like a great way to talk to different companies to see which would perform the best on your site. I'm going to attend ad-tech NY next week. Anyone else thinking about going?
Ads
Google Ads are a cheap, fast, and easy way to get in. Most ad companies will not utilize new websites, so it is also good to have Google in this respect.
However, I have had the most success with Yahoo Ads. They are a selective beta program right now, but have been incredibly good thus far.
Otherwise, I would almost recommend not doing ads until you have traffic, or not doing them at all. I am thinking about removing them from my site because I want people to have a nice experience on my site without being barraged by ads.

The entire "no ads on websites" argument is so hypocritical. We see ads from the SECOND we get up to the SECOND we go to sleep. In the movies, on the road, during our work, at stores, while shopping, everywhere. Why should websites be the only exception in our society that don't have ads? They shouldn't be. I forgot the exact number but the average American sees 1,000+ advertisements every day.

I agree. We might as well put as much ads on our sites as we want as most poeple get raped with hundreds a day anyway. If you want poeple to have a nicer experince on the site then it's more about what kind of ads your putting on your site and where. But then agian I'm still a n00b in this feild and probably shouldn't be giving out advice. :P

I wouldn't say hypocritical, more like functional and aesthetic. The 90px height chewed up by my site is annoying, as well as unpleasant to look like. And secondly, being hypocritical infers that I am delivering a negative connotation while supporting it, which I am not guilty of.

Because our society thrives on capitalistic conquest, that's a given. But at the end, people have a negative perspective on ads because they think they are a waste of time and an annoyance; a negativity I would like to prevent on my website. They already have to deal with sponsor ads on games, let alone banners strewn around them... now that my site actually gets some traffic I want people to come back and enjoy it.

I'm not saying you're hypocritical, I'm saying the argument, which many seem to believe in here, is fundementaly hypocritical because of the society we live in.

Even with the negative perspective, they don't have nearly as much of an effect on people as you're making them out to have. I bet you have a favorite TV show. I bet during that show is interrupted every episode by about 19 minutes of ads. And I bet on top of that 19 minutes they also show you some ads in the form of product placement within the show. But do you stop watching it? I know my favorite show does just that, but I continue to watch is for I think it's 7 seasons now (24). 24 is actually HUGE on product placement. I would guess that they make close to as much with product placement as they do with conventional commercials.

I don't understand how someone who says something hypocritical is not a hypocrite himself. Really, I just feel insulted at this point.
Listen, I loved the lecture on marketing and advertisement, but I feel like I should be entitled to believe in the idea that some blinking animated gif on my website shouldn't be on there unless I want it to be. I also believe that people would rather not have an advertisement on a page then would... so if you want to tell me differently then go ahead.
I'm done with this argument. You guys go ahead if you want to continue hullabalooing about it.
Hi there!
...now that the dust has settled.
Halloween aftermath.
I may be a lil' late but whatever... I'm surprised at how few kids showed up at my door. Only about 10 this year. Last year it was 90+. I still have a huge bowl of candy left and it's mostly rockets. I don't know whats wrong with kids these days man. I use to love rockets when I was a lil' brat. And here these kids are sayin' "Ewwwww... Rockets!" "What's wrong with rockets lil' girl?" "They taste like chalk!" Dang kids and their new candy bars. I never realized how behind the times I am until I was lookin' at some of the junk I bought. Mr.Big, Wonderbar, three musketeers, etc. etc. Half these things I've never heard of. I feel so outdated... I think I'll be a mall-rat for a few days in the near future to catch up with the times.
As for the left over candy... I'm not much of a candy fan really... So I'll probably give it to my buds next time their over for a visit.
Also...
Curse you Olympics!
The olympics are gonna be in my parts in a few years from now and property is already going waaaaaaaaaaaaay up. At this rate I'll be doomed to live in a crapshack with bombshelter food for life!
/End rants, now happy time.
I'm feeling a lot better now. Think I'm finally comin' over my flu. :)
I wanna give someone a hug. ^^
ADs on websites

Roger.
Essentially, people are entitled to whatever they think works best with regards to their website. Some people might feel that a few quiet ads blend nicely into their pages, while some others might prefer to go for the totally pure approach. Just so long as you don't go overboard, like, for example, every single content stealing website which has ever been made by anyone anywhere ever, it shouldn't have too much of a negative impact on what people think of you our your site.
Ads on websites
This is kind of different to what you have been talking about, but when i took that test on how much your site is worth, it suggested advertisement companies to try, so i did and they both accepted me. I'm not gonna use them until i get my google payment but i was just wondering whether anyone has used them.
Although Azoogleads were more strict on things, for example they wanted to see a receipt for the purchase of my site.

What's wrong with the whip? C'mon boy get with your kinky side! Go out their and get yourself a nice young gal that will tie you up and feed you cookies. You don't know true pleasure until you've been beaten' half-to-death with a metal studded dildo! XD
RE: Site Stuff
I always have used Google ads. I've actually been planning to make a site for my band pretty soon; that could be fun.

I believe that thats a little too kinky for me ><
I like my sex normal, thnx, no fetishes, no crazy shit, just the makeout session beforehand, the inevitable foreplay (sometimes with back massages), and then bow-chicka-wow-woaw. Done
Adverts
Speaking of adverts, seen the casinoroom.com one on here somewhere, with an animated picture of a hand doing the wanking sign, it saying 'Fancy some action?'. Then it turns out he had dice in his hand, and he was rolling them. Just saw it, and realized :P.
I suck at TBA :(
Jetman
This game on facebook is really bugging me!
OMG
Not sure if it's supposed to be talked about/linked to as I couldn't find any 'official' links to it, but... there it is...
The animation was, as always, perfect and the sound was nice but for some reason I'm feeling a little disappointed by it. It was a lot shorter than I was expecting and the ending wasn't very conclusive... but I'm assuming that version there IS the whole thing and not just "Part A". I'll still be fiving it though - it's much better than most other animations out there, I'm just dwelling too much on the negatives.

Pretty cool. The animation is simply mind-blowing. With that said, the story seems to lack, at least for me. But I'm not going to say there's anything wrong with that because I've shown the series to my cousins who are young (6 and 4), and they seem intrigued by it, and that's a really good target audience.

Theres like 2 levels where I beat par. I heard the words "Did you know your score is too high to make a stupid question?" on nearly every level :P
Rotoscoped Game
I really would like to make the game I was on about before, but I lack the needed things. That demo I did before was recorded from my phone, which is absolute crap. I attempted to do a running thing, but on the video it only had like 3 separate, equally blurred, frames of me running (even when I did it slowly).
So what I'm asking is whether anyone has a decent camera, a lot of room and a lot of time on their hands, and whether they want to help me do this? Thanks.
If not, I'll just PM dustball
