..::i wanna talk about the mod tools::..
Everything is so streamlined and easy now. It'll be hard to resist banning people, it's just so smooth to use....
ahh ban... everything is beautiful...
This sig is 100% effective protection from all hexes, curses, evil spirits and bad karma. Guaranteed.
BmK is gonna go on a rampage. Just wanted to drop in and ad that little unnesessary, probably false comment.
(blatant attempt to get into FRL accomplished)
Just wanted to mentin something I was contemplating. Has anyone ever figured that spriters might sprite because they can't use their own art without a tablet? (the mouse, it BURNS!)

Well, I have little choice but to go on a rampage. >=]
I figure sprites are used for one of three reasons, artist can not draw well, artist wants to create something about a certain video game where sprites are the natural choice and artist wants a good score with little effort.

OMG I am the MEANEST mod ever, but seriously guys. This conversation sucks. Move on or be banned for littering this train wreck of a Regs Lounge.
At the very least it was something hilarious that hasn't been done 6,543 times in here already :) Maybe I just have a tainted sense of humor.

Luis refuses to use a tablet. He sticks with the mouse, and outdraws us all.

I'm inclined to agree... up to a point. But when someone's done all thier own pixel art and made an entire Flash cartoon from scratch (without using any other game recognisably as source), I think they deserve far better. Pixel art is a tough discipline, and especially hard to get right in Flash.
I'm still waiting for someone to make something original like that...

New book on my personal list of Flash Books to own
How to Cheat in Flash CS3 follows a similar path to a book I picked up a few months back named exactly the same thing, but for Photoshop CS3. Each little mini-tutorial gets a double page spread and shows off neat little tricks that you know, neat little tricks you don't, and awesome uses for things you didn't know existed in Flash.
Looking only through the first chapter so far I can see it's a bit sparse in places, but a good wholesome read for the average Flash user looking to make it really big. Or at least shave a few days off production time. Plus it's got some AS3 tricks in there as well. Huzzah.

That seems like a pretty good book actually. I haven't bought a book for Flash since since a month or so after I got MX. ...That was awhile ago. I should look this one up or at least peruse the pages while in Barnes and Noble.
Also, some of you may not know this but upon being admitted into college part of the freshman orientation was getting a brand new Macbook Pro complete with the entire Adobe Suite. THe best thing about it is that this deal was practically free and everything was covered by a minimal "technology free". I love looking down at my dock and seeing 20 odd adobe icons sparkling together. It's fun.

As I said, some of the stuff you'll already know. Skimming through more of it I knew most of the tricks in there, but was still pleasently suprised by other things I'd overlooked before.
I'm pretty sure everyone here can find at least two, maybe three things they've not seen in Flash before in that book that they'd want to use (to say nothing of the "how to convert your Flash files for television, Inverse Kinematic extensions for Flash MX-CS3 and AS3.0 snippits you'll say "cool!" to). And therefore, it's a handy piece of reference for everyone with Basic-Intermediate skills in my humble opinion.

12 Inch Cintiqs. £800. November
My god. Affordable screens you can draw on and hold in your lap.
Just in time for Christmas

12 Inch Cintiqs
This is awesome! Still not cheap enough for me to want to get one, but it's nice to see the ever-so stable price of these things start to drop a bit for consumers.
Hi there!
12 inch cintiqs
wow, i wish i wasnt so damn poor :p, guess ill have to stick with my stone-age trust tablet instead :'(
12" Cintquwur
Yea that's still pretty damn expensive, if you're seriously into it, then I guess it's nice, but getting a graphire or an intuos (like my hot 6x8 Intuos) is good for most people. I can't wait till they are actually affordable though.
12 inch
COCK JOKE.
Halloween
Is effectively banned in this town - the police give out flyers for people to stick up in their windows saying "Trick-or-treaters not welcome here but have a nice evening". All the shops aren't allowed to sell eggs and flower to under-18's - but they WILL sell alcohol to us..?

The police would rather kids be drunk than ruin someones paint job.

What communist city is this!? Sounds like the city is trying to avoid problems with kids getting drugged up on fake candy or keeping the crime rate low. Either way, they might as well forget Christmas as well since people get drunk and play loud Christmas music at that as well.
Hi there!
Back button?
Is it only me, or didn't there use to be a back button at the bottom of every topic (next to the 'Forum Jump'-dropdown)? I tend to always look there when I want back to the topic listing, but it's not there anymore and that's making me sad :'(

Theres one at the top, if that makes you happy.
I don't need that button though, I have the forum page on one tab and all the threads I'm interested in separate tabs.
Browsers
What browsers do people use? I'm a diecast firefox user, and I'm guessing most people here are too.

Kinda, I always use(d) either that or the back button at the bottom.. which one depended on where I was on the page, it's usually the bottom though as I'm most often just interested in the last posts.

I used to have it like that, I find it much easier just refreshing the topic list every now and then and see if there's been any new posts in the threads I'm interested in though.

Yup, same here.

Sounds like the sort of 'silly Americans' story you hear from time to time, except not in America :S
Browsers
I use firefox mostly. It's surprisingly faster than the browsers that come free with most computers. Never tried opera, though.
