So it looks like Newgrounds is doing a little better since the last time I was here. Seems like more people are getting help and there's alot less flaming going on. Good job guys. Keep it up. =D

I think the new sig trend should be sigless, it's what all the coolest people are doing.

Yup, the whole site turned around the second I was modded. I like to be humble about it and let Tom and liljim take the credit, but it was all me.

I think I just cracked it (I made a clock at the bottom of the browser). Anyone got any ideas for me to make? Its actually not that hard - you just need to know Javascript orC++, and to be able to stumble around with XUL (you dont actually need to know much XUL, its pretty simple).

National Novel Writing Month
Here's a challenge for everyone here... something non-flash related (although I'm sure someone can work out a Flash equivalent). The idea is, starting November 1st, write a 50,000 word novel, from scratch. Deadline is 30th November - anyone uploading it to NaNoWriMo's word counter and meeting this quota is a winner.

After much badgering from a friend, I'm competing this year. Fifty Thousand Words. One Month.
I'm going to have fun... :)

I was considering posting this at one point, maybe it was in Luis' creative thread or something. I agree though, I didn't play it for an hour or anything, but it's pretty awesome.

Poping Egos.
How could you even have an ego as a mod? Your just a regular user with some special abilities.(and get to go to the mod-parties...) Other then that as a mod ain't you expected and obligated to act more professional? I don't see cops(which I think is the best equavilent to a mod IRL) walking 'round all proud of themselfves.
Do you change when you become a mod or something? This brings up a nice topic actually...
Working Personality.
According to my friends I change when at work or working. I agree actually. Even though I'm usually annoyed to the max when at a register or just helping someone chop/move firewood I apparently act more serious and don't goof of. Which is weird 'cause at school durring class I'd act like a complete goof. I'm not sure why... Guess I feel actual responsibility when I'm working as apposed at school I feel know responsibility... I blame all those damn "BE RESPONSIBLE" signs in school. They had an oppisite effect on me. :(

Also: MY PS3 disk-drive broke... I very said. Getting it fixed soon.
& watched my friend beat PORTAL twice... Once with commentary.
AAAAAAAaaaaand: My one friend is getting me into D&D and I surprisingly don't feel nerdy about it.

Concerts

This weekend I trekked to New York and back to Philly to see a few shows for my birthday.

In New York at Studio B I saw Laz Casanova, Trouble Maker, Z-trip and MSTRKRFT. MSTRKRFT was so fucking intense they didn't break the energy ONCE. SO much fun but my God I was sweaty.

In Philadelphia I just got back from seeing the Midnight Juggernauts and JUSTICE. JUSTICE WAS OUT OF FUCKING CONTROL. Besides the massive gut wrenching and back breaking crowd surges, the show was definitely one of the best I have seen. For those of you who don't know, Justice is under the Ed Banger label which houses the one and only robot gods Daft Punk. So, you know they are good.

One of the highlights of the night, however, was at the after party. I got to shack Gaspards (half of Justice) hand. So awesome. I said "Fucking amazing show, I loved it" And he said something and patted me on the back.

Helpfulnessness

Remember a couple of years ago (I think it was around when I was starting Y11, so two years) when we all used to pretty much race each other to answer help threads, and you ended up with three or four detailed responses to a question within a minute of each other? I miss those days. We should have some kind of drive to bring the helpful atmosphere of the forum back.

I find the forum doing just fine in terms of helpfulness, i think theres alot of repeat cries for help that could be easily avoided by using the search bar.. I think rather than helping people on their threads, more experienced posters should bump up topics where people will be able to find that answer.. threads like the tablet thread, flash alternatives, etc etc are a wealth of information that gets burried and i see alot of repeat effort... i think if we got the board to a point where people are less inclined to make a new thread for something they know they can find the answer to it'd be great. I think the real helpfulness should be saved for genuinely challenging issues people come across that really challenge the minds of those who want to help.

The tablet thread (and other useful links) really need to be included in the sticky.
