Its currently a modified template, the one i downloaded didnt have a side bar and all sorts. It was also in German so i had to translate half the code haha. Still some bits which are German so i need to go through it.

But anyway i was just wondering what you would want to read in a blog, its going to have all my designs there but what else would you like to see? Interviews? Anything you can think of, thanks :)

The Blog is good, I use(d) wordpress aswell, but never bought it... the style is cool, generic blog. You should include special articles on Flash that have inspired you or something, get in touch with that author and get more info out of them. Aswell as news about your work.

Nay, Flash 8's circular logo reeks of awesome compared to the square 'Fl' of CS3. Besides, I don't need that extra stuff in CS3 to bog me down.

I thought the whole logos being part of an adobe periodic table where everything is needed is rather ingenious... I'm guesse I'm the only one who thought that was incredibly clever when I saw it...

I like the whole layers thing and it does really keep the quality of the .psd with a suprisingly small filesize compared to that of a .png

Laptop=Second Monitor /

So I tried seeing if there was a way to use my laptop as a second monitor without taking it all apart following that DIY tutorial seeing as I still like to use it when I travel. I found some software that I'm trialing that just runs god awfully slow so much that I've found it quite useless and have no intention of buying. It uses an ethernet cable and VNC software in order to connect two computers... I imagine my only problem is that my laptop isn't new enough to support any of the recomended VNC software so the one I'm running it through is just terribly slow...

I was wondering if anyone new a work around as a way to boot up the laptop in a display mode like there is a target mode, allowing me to use a VGA or whatever cable to connect my main computer and use the laptop as a monitor. Seeing as that would allow me to disconect it and use it as a laptop when I need too, but also not watch it go to waste when I don't need it.

Any ideas or should I just be emailing apple to see if there is even a way...

I'm hoping not to buy a second monitor but I bet I will end up doing that anyway

I'm cool now... Right guys?... Guys?

Well that would be helpful, however.. You would think they would add in some more improvements before releasing CS3.. Because so far, from what I hear, it's not worth getting.

Actually, I believe that's an update to the player and not the creator, so filters made in Flash 8 no longer lag so much in FP9, or something.

Batman Begins

Anyone else completely unimpressed by this film? I was so disappointed, I went straight away and made a long semi-blog type post on my website. I'm not in a habit of C&Ping things I can just link to :P

RE: Adobe Flash CS3 (Flash 9) or Macromedia Flash 8?

In my personal opinion, I think we had enough topics with the whole, "which is better CS3 or Flash 8?" We all know there are slight differences that Flash 9 has that Flash 8 does not.

Flash CS3 Features:
1) Actionscript 3.0
2) Exporting in Flash Player 9 format.
3) Non-Lagging Filters
4) Importing Photoshop Files, in which bring it in all the layers it belongs.

Even though those are pretty shweet features, it still doesn't spark out to me. I honestly would rather stick with Flash 8, than CS3 for one reason. I'm not really into Actionscript, not much is known about AS3 as it is, so why experiment with it, when I have no idea where to start? Also, I don't use too many filters as it is, and having them lag isn't a problem to me. The exporting in Flash 9 format, doesn't really appeal to me either -- Flash 8 is fine.

Along the lines of photoshop, I do have it but I don't usually work with photoshop. I use other programs like Microsoft Picture It! to edit backgrounds. I kind of fail at Photoshop. :) I know the basics, but no advance stuff. So Flash 8 it is for me. That's my choice.

carry on...new topic...

Derren Brown

Derren Brown is pretty impressive with his work. Many of his work, involves manipulating people into doing things they would never think of doing. He kind of controls them, mentally and they soon fall right into his trap. He has a pretty amazing technique.

I really like his work. I've been watching alot of the videos on Youtube.

Flash CS3 Alignment problems?

I dunno why, but for some reason in CS3 the Horizontal and Vertical alignment just doesn't work for me...anyone else having similar problems? Maybe there's a different way of doing it in the new version and maybe I'm still stuck on doing it the Flash 8 way (which is just clicking align horizontally when you have something selected). For the first few times I thought I just aligned it all perfectly myself and I was pretty proud haha, but I realized it didn't align it no matter where I put it...

always behind schedule.

That would possibly be the scariest moment of your life, surely in the state he was in that was 100% real and convinced he was gonna get eaten by zombies.

He can do it safely and legally without a warrant. After the whole hallucinating thing, he soon tells them at the end about what exactly happened. It's pretty amazing on how he does it though. The whole paper money for buying the jewelry was pretty good. And it shows it doesn't work with everyone, how about that hot dog guy going "what is this..it's plain?" Soon after everything, you eventually realize what happens or you fall for his damn tricks. I would love to have his talent.

I really enjoyed the Derren Brown NLP video on YouTube. :D It was pretty damn awesome on how the guys perspective on a gift changed so easily by just mentioned various words, and having the color red surrounding you to convince and trick your mind into something you didn't want to begin with. This guy is genius. I still have to finish watching the rest of his videos, I've watched ALOT of them though. And Guess what, I'm very impressed.

I really don't think this is fake like the things "Criss Angel, and David Blaine" do. I think he's really real, since they are illusionists, he uses logic and science. He just know what he's doing and I'm very impressed by the outcome of each experiment he does.

He is fake. Remember, he's an illusionist. He uses "illusions." He's not a magic man that can do anything, he simply uses illusions to distract you from the real perspective and trick. Of course, I love the guy. He amazes me alot, but I know how he does the walk on water trick, I know how he goes through glass, and I always know many other things including some of his tricks. Despite the way to create these tricks, I still know his downfall.

The way he does the levitation trick really dissapointed me =P

I'm sure the guy had to sign a waiver, probably had too before you entered the pub detailing if theer was no physical injury they weren't liable... Seeing as the owners let them set up that game 'm sure they would allow them to block off the pub for a night and have everyone who enters sign a simple waiver.

I'm yet to see the paper money one so i'm going to go watch that now =D

..::Criss Angel vs Darren Brown::..

Angel does use hypnotic suggestion in his street magic tricks, most obviously when he asks a person to draw an animal and he has the same animal drawn in a sealed envelope yadda-yadda. And I'm certain it extends into some of the card tricks.

But the main stuff that Angel and Blain do are just big elaborate illusions or stunts.

But anyway those guys are performers and Brown really isn't, but he still outshines them with these smaller but so much more interesting tricks.

Whoa, that guy was really psycho when he was thinking that he was part of the game... Maybe that's why that Jack Thompson guy says that video games lead to violence. :P

Anyhoo, here's another awesome vid, where Derren tricks a lady into thinking that red is black and yellow is red (lol colourblind). Link

Meh, I'm going to stick to AS2 for a few more months; there's no big rush.

I've tried, but then I thought, "I don't need to switch yet." I know that in the end it will be imminent, but AS2 was hard enough for me to learn. I don't need anything else clogging up my nice, clean brain.
