Flash 10

Just got AS3 a couple of nights ago with my corporate discount :P. Still haven't bothered to install it. It's sitting on my desk and probably will continue to sit there until the Reg's Collab is done. I'm excited to open it up though. Anyways around, I think flash needs to get a bit more corporate. Adobe will take it into the right direction, but then again I still haven't tried CS3 out.

I really wouldn't mind seeing more filters and more of the drawing tools in photoshop... they just make life so easy.

I hope they update the paintbrush to have an option of having consistant in width strokes... seeing as the pencil blows to draw with and the paintbrush can end up looking really low rent.

Sleep Cycles
I'm trying to get mine in a more regular pattern seeing as waking up at 3 and going to bed at 4 wasn't exactly helping me with anything... I don't think it should be that hard seeing as I started anew when I got back to my home as 4 hours of sleep a night had me just destroyed...

Anyone have an opinions, is it worth it to wake up before 11 or am I just having the grass is greener on the other side kind of effect

Maybe we'll actually see updates to the software in Flash 9, instead of just dumping anything new into the next version to make us buy it again.

CS3

Ok, so when we (secret partner lol) win the rockout competion (its a definate), should I buy CS3? I'm mainly considering it because of AS3, I'm almost fluent in it, but the flash 9 alpha is really annoying me. It dies at random points, and you have to restart the entire program just because of stupid things, like infinate loops.

As a coder, I dont really care about stupid things like the paintbrush has less sizes, or anything artsy-fartsy (unless its super major).

Smoking ban

UK smoking ban started on sunday. You now cant smoke in enclosed public places or work places.

I think its kinda silly. People will still smoke at home, and non-smokers at 'enclosed public places" (basicly pubs and resteraunts) wont really be affected by just staying near a smoker for an hour or two. The only really victims from passive smoking is children with smoking parents.

What choo thinks?

Yeah the smoking ban to me is all fine. I dont see a problem with it (I dont smoke) and I see if anything its for the better. The one defence ive heard against it is this - 'The bad thing about the smoking bans is that clubs will now just stink of sweat and booze, rather than having smoke cover it up'.

I always used to stay up really late and still do now, but its just im so used to it its not something worth talking about. What I did last night was stay up till 5/6ish (watching Spaced, 'The seven ages of rock' and Jonathan Ross) and then set my alarm to get me up at about 1ish. To counter being tired tonight, im just gunna go get really monged and just crash. Thats the way to get you back on a usual sleep cycle - go out, get cained, come back and crash.

I do find that if im up on my comp at night I will be working alot better and alot more tolerant to it rather than just 'cant be bothered' to do flash. Thats quite good.

RE: Smoking ban

Nobody's allowed to smoke at VI Form any more - there used to be an area behind the buildings where smokers could go. Personally I think it's bull. It's not like they're noticable or anything, and they're out in fresh air which is a hell of a lot healthier than having to light up in a car or something. I've no desire to smoke, but I can't see a total ban on smoking outdoors being in anyone's interest.

They could probably step outside, but the whole point of giving them an area to smoke in was so that passers by wouldn't see loads of kids smoking outside - bad image for the school I guess. Now they'll most likely decide to smoke just around the corner, so anyone walking past will not only notice, but actually have to walk through a big group of peeps in school colours all smoking outside. I really can't see how any of it's doing anyone and good.

Zombie Defense Games
While I feel that the quality of zombie defense games are quite good, I feel like developers are going kind of nuts in making zombie defense games. Does anyone agree? Has it reached the point that Zombies in a defense game are now cliche and reached saturation in flash gaming?

Defense games themselves are already overdone, I think the zombie thing is just the latest fad and will run out of steam when people get sick of it.

Smoking Ban
The smoking ban is more to do with how annoying people find smoking. It's not going to fix 2nd hand smoke as that happens in the home with one person reaking out the house forcing the other people in the house to inhale the toxic fumes for months and months. Sitting in a bus shelter with some guy smoking isn't going to effect you, just annoy you.

Smoking Ban
I am exceptionally happy about the smoking ban as I really hate smoking. The smell I just hate and worse is that you might go to the pub for a drink with a friend and have your clothes and hair stinking afterwards. I'm so happy it shall be smoke free now.

Smoking Bans

BOO.. im against that shit.. I know I've been to an awesome concert if i leave smelling like armpits cheap booze and cigarettes.. thats the charm in being crammed into a small venue.. i love that aspect of it.. it feels dirty and disgusting. With people pissin on the floor of the bathroom... graffiti everywhere.. hepetatis opportunities at every place you touch.. its just great.. its totally the rock scene.. its kind of fucked up prissy ass people are ruining that because they want to live healthy and chant kumbaya and shit.

I think its good that laws are being put in place to prevent second hand smoke and all that stuff. I went to Las vegas, where they have like no laws against smoking in public areas, and it was terrible. There was smoke EVERYWHERE. I stayed in a casino-hotel and the hotel smelled like crap even before you get inside you could smell it and when you open the door its like the smell punches you in the face.

Smoking Ban

I'm for the ban of smoking in public places. If you wanna smoke, go some place where you won't bother other people and potentially harm them. Why people still smoke cigarettes puzzles me. It's been proven over and over again since the mid 1900's that they will kill you and yet people still smoke. Teenagers probably begin smoking because they wanna look cool and dangerous or whatever and then they get addicted. To them I say, if you feel it's necessary to smoke to look cool, at least smoke something that is not addictive and won't kill you, like weed, for example.

What I don't get is, if smoking is popular and yet dangerous, why do they put poison in ciggarettes? Does rat poison actually taste good or something? Why aren't there healthy ciggarettes or at least ones without the cancer causing stuff. It doesn't make sense what they put in ciggarettes...

Your chances of dying are actually pretty high if you are a regular smoking and your chances of getting cancer and other diseases are even higher.

And to your other post, the reason why the government doesn't stop the tobacco companies is because the government is controlled by them. That's also the reason marijuana is highly illegal, the tobacco companies don't want competition.

I personally think smoking is a bad thing, I know I might get flamed for saying so but it can effect othes around them. For an example if you smoke a lot and you are always arond the house and near family it can effect them.
