Celebrity encounters

I've met Bruce Dickinson(Iron Maiden) on about 3 occasions, he's been at a few fencing competitions that i've been at. Seems like a nice guy :P.

Which is harder?(Coding/Animating)

What do you think is hardest. I can't really give a fair view, but i think coding is hardest, time wise. Since if you have say, a script that for some reason crashes flash player, it can sometimes take weeks to solve it and find the bug.

However, animators don't have it easy, i know a few artists who have spent ages on just a walk cycle or an explosion.

That's not such a bad idea. Although, it'd be hard to find everyone. I went last year and that place can get pretty huge with the thousands of people that were there roaming around. Can't wait for this year, going with all my freinds.

Ew, yeah bugs are gross and fascinating at the same time. I just really hate large spiders, itty bitty ones are fine but black widow size or larger and I am not a cool cucumber anymore. Spiders in Arizona are fucking huge, we had a tarantula that could fit over my face climbing the screen door one time... >.<

lol, my brother has 2 tarantula's, one being a goliath spider. Then theres the scorpian, which is very active, all in my household :)

And for that guy who had that plane dream, thats real wierd...

RE: Which is harder?

I think this is a question that will never be answered... both have their own tedium, this argument could go on for years and either direction would probably be perfectly valid.

Some artists take years to produce their movies.. i think adam philips has like one movie a year or something... under the same token Neg spent more than a year programming that ng rumble game... its all relative.. both have potential to be very difficult depending on how ambitious you are. EDN

I am j02 this week. My mountain bike ate it yesterday, and I hit the back tire so hard that the ball bearings shot out of the wheel and bounced along the road.

Groovy :(.

Being a Game Developer
God video game stigmas are wild. Whenever I try to explain to people that I produce online video games, they kind of nod their head, as if I don't have a real job or that I am corrupting the youth. Does anyone feel the same way, that because your artform is an art profession or because you are a game developer that you are judged as someone with a mediocre job?

I know this particularily because my mom won't tell people that I am a game developer. She'll tell them I am an animator, in pursuit of working at Pixar. Because game development ruins children's minds... and she can't see her son as one of those people.

I plan to be a game developer. It'd be cool to makes games for a living. In fact, I know the Felice Standifer, producer of the ATV Offroad fury games, motorstorm, etc. :D So I'll be going up to the sony studio place and to hang out with the animators :D

Celebrities

My grandpa's brother's son is a MLB player. Really.

Its really annoying when I tell people that. They're always like, "OMFG, if thats true, than you should be rich and famous too." Jesus christ, its not like i'm his freakin' son or anything!

Anyways, the only time i've ever met him was when I was a baby and I don't even remember.

My cousin is a popular Reggaeton (Spanish Hip-hop) artist: Rakim of Rakim y Ken-Y.

Went to my grandpa's house in Puerto Rico last summer and spent the day with him which was pretty freakin' sweet. My grandpa made ribs which were most heavenly. Awesome time!

I'm not normally one to laugh at other people phobias, being that I'm a nervous wreck myself, but that video clip was hilarious. Those were some full blown phobias; running screaming from the room from a video image of mustard, I feel sorry for them. I wonder what could have possibly triggered that fear.

Game Devs

I'm not too bothered about being mocked, what other jobs can you get at my age, and even when I do tell people, they dont believe me...

But I would find developing games for a living way to risky, for obvious reasons. I'd rather work in a studio with other people at the same pace. Not that all that crap will ever happen XD

My grandma met 50 Cent's entourage, I swear. They moved into the condo where she lives because they were looking for a place to live in New York. Her and her friends were riding the elevator and a number of guys in his entourage got in with them. One of them said "some fine young lady's, we should date" and my grandma and her friends loved that. It wasn't clear if 50 cent ever lived there, but if he did she never actually met him.

Game Devs

My girlfriend works for a company called Ciber, she's a receptionist. Ciber apparently hires 3rd party developers for their studio that's right by me: Tiburon. So I've met a couple of the programmers from EA. On top of that my neighbor's brother, who also teaches at my old school, works for EA. So I'm pretty connected. Only problem now is, I don't want to work for EA >:( Would be nice to have an intership. I've heard EA workers get a lot of free subscriptions to all sorts of MMOs.

'Over-night' Games

So me and BritishMoose are working on a game now. It was a random engagement made amidst boredom. He sent me an image, I programmed a funny little function for it, and now we just randomly decided to put out a game for Monday. Not much thought into it other than intrigue. What's your opinion on these kinds of things? It's entertaining in my opinion to try to come out with an awesome project in such short time.

Celebs

I saw (didnt meet) Judie Dench (M in James Bond movies) at a castle about 6 years ago. And my mum met Ian Wright (absolute great, local ex-football player) a while ago. Other than that - no.

Sonx

So you decided to level up, eh? I thought you didnt like the ugly 17-and-18 icons. If I was you, I woulda waited for the redesign, then decide to level up or not.

but pixar are overrated and 3D....

if NG opened up an animation studio for tv and film then that'd be somehtnig worthy of joining...

and as for games..

people still not gotten used to the whole game thing yet... thus Hostel and Saw gets raed 18 without cuts... yet a certain Wii game gets canceled for less.
