Hmm. Well, it's GREAT for Halloween. After that, I don't think the colors are good. Are you just planning on using it for Halloween?

I might. But then i might remake it for christmas, just because im so bored like that. :D

i dont like how all the art is blury... seems unnecessary as it adds nothing to the personality.. other than the fact that you love the waterdrop tool in photoshop.

In terms of layout, you need to fix the margins on your body text... for one the type is way too tight against the left edge of the aqua box, and secondly the news itself runs for way too far across the screen to be comfortable reading. I have a 30 inch screen and roughly 70 percent of the screen is a big long news line.. its just too long for people to want to read without the eye becoming tired.. keep it manageable and comfortable.. if you look at the newgrounds site, you'll see that very rarely does a string of text go the whole span of the site.

Dude seriously, relax. No offense, but no one likes to go somewhere that's just random forums. What's the attraction? What makes your forums better than the forums we're talking on right now? Unless there's some other attraction or reason to go there, most people aren't going to head over to your forums when they're already situated here.

Hmm here's one for all you animators and actionscripters out there. Do you have a dream animation/game? Like one that you've always wanted to make for as long as you can remember or at least since you started producing things? Or better yet is there anyone out there who had one and actually made it.

I myself have had a game I've planned since I was around ten, the story line thickening as time goes by. It's still in very very rough stages at them moment but I dont wish to go on with it until I am happy with my ability to script and can either get better at art or find an artist but I do think it's a very good and with my, what I believe to be, fairly good writing abilites I think it could turn out quite well.

So out of interest, anyone want to give away some story behind their dream production, and how long it may be until they think they are up to making it?

I kinda don't like the idea of doing something entirely on the Pico franchise, it seems restrictive and a lot of people will try to draw the characters as you or MindChamber would.
It would be good if the game had more then just the mini-games to it or it'd seem a lot like the Four Second series.

My dream production since I started using 3D has been basically a trailer. Sure, I could make a plot out of it, but when I conceived of it (actually it was my brother, he's amazing at conceving amazing animations that I don't have the skill to do), it was conceived of as the perfect trailer, not as a full movie on its own.

It's extremely hard to describe in words, but I'll give you a few of the key scenes. One is where you see an awesome looking guy (by awesome I mean the coolness type of the matrix) with a cloak, in all black, standing on top of a building in a giant city. There's wind blowing the cloak and his hair (extremely important and dramatic), and it's raining violently. He's wearing extremely cool sunglasses that show the perfect reflection as they're zoomed in on, and at that moment he jumps off the building in perfect forum, and lands at the bottom in a crushing blow as his knees bend... pushing up everything around him. Then there's like a shot of a puddle of watter that a boot runs through (likje a person's foot) and splashes up the water beautifully, and then a series of storm running shots. Not much else that can be described, but it's basically just supposed to be the ultimate trailer than just makes your mouth drop in awe at the coolness factor, and makes you say "i have to see this movie."

I doubt I'll ever make it, I'd just be upset with what I didn't make exactly like my vision of it. But if I ever did, it'd have to be a while from now, like a long time. When I'm really good at maya and I can make really leet looking shots.

This is something recent but I guess it could count as a dream.
I want to make a short series of comics, animate them, get a good 3D program for special effects and then make a movie of the comics.
It would look so awesome if done right but I keep picturing a scene in my head of one of the main characters shooting a rocket at the Lime Wire(its a lime! but with wires!) and having an awesome explosion.
It would be something awesome to do and could be possible.
The first comic.

I've been working on an animation (or a series rather, but I'll get back on that) in my head for about two years now. Every time I hear the songs that were supposed to be the soundtracks (Thomas Newman, prrr) it crosses my mind again how awesome it would be if I ever got to finish or even start making it.
It is supposed to be an old fashioned fairytaleish (sp?) story, probably cut to 5/6 seperate episodes. I basically have the entire story finished in my head. It would start out as your avarage fairytale; a young guy, who is fed up with life in his quiet forest village sets out to see more of his (magical) world (cliche). Episode one would be an introduction to the story and characters, part two and three would be more about his adventures in the outside world. Then, in part 4, he returns back to his village to find out everyone was brutally murdered, from that part onwards the atmosphere will change from light and happy to more dark/angry/bloody, the main theme will switch from exploration to revenge, which will hopefully make it more interesting.
Anyways, I don't want to start this until my skills are way better then what they are now and when I got myself a nice drawing tablet, as that will hopefully make fbf'ing easier and faster. Which probably means I'll never start it, but hey, I guess it's good to have your dreams.

I agree, I dont think mine will ever go anywhere as it is a fully in depth three part adventure game and I'm just too frekin lazy. It's always good to have some sort of ultimate goal though, I think at least. What my dream game does for me is motivates me to practice often, which I do and now I know a fairly good chunk of actionscript but there is still a lot to go.

OKAY, ANOTHER RANDOM QUESTION and fuck damn maybe someone'll actually reply to my post this time

Does anyone lese really like watching things in low quality? I mean, I know that by definition it's supposed to be the worst quality you can have, but something about it just seems to make Flash stuff so much better, and not just because it goes at a decent framerate on my sucky internets :P

It's probably because of the way it breaks up vectors. In High or Medium quality you can clearly see that things have been drawn using lines and whatever, but the jagged edges in low quality remove that and create the illusion of a really smooth piece of full animation. This is particularly good when watching your own stuff in low quality - it's much more like "OMG I MADE THAT!!!".

I dunno, maybe it's just me. Maybe everyone else hates low quality :P

well 1st of all having slow interet doesnt make the quality bad (unless streaming)
And secondly u must have an old computer if it doesnt run at the same speed on either high or low.
3rd Pixels are crap vectors wateva

I don't know, if low quality is what does that...If you look really close at a tv while watching a cartoon, the edges looked blurred not jagged. Maybe you are really used to watching professional cartoons in low quality video formats...

Intresting what you say there Johnny (a few pages back) it got a little swept under the carpet, but the post is fresh to me atleast.

I'm not sure how different it is here (england) and there (USA), you say about kids being pumped up on ritalin and being analysed, but to be honest i've only heard of ritalin on an episode of the Simpsons, and i've never met or known of anyone to go to a psychiatrist(sp).

I'm not sure how right I am here but I think that being younger has probably gotten worse over here recently. The reason I doubt it is because obviously i'm older now, more knowledgable etc and you can't really compare.. also it's hard to say because of where abouts you live and all that, it's probably different wherever you go. Umph, losing my point.. gone.

------

Cool story from today. There's this lad on my course who is about 26 and today was the last day until half term. And we were told if we wanna borrow any equipment then get it now for half term.

I saw him on the bus and I saw he had a camera, tripod and other stuff with him, and he was talking to this girl about why he secretly needed the equipment without ever letting go why, he just kept saying 'Two camera's makes it easier'..

Then, I remember a conversation I had with him about a week ago, and what it is him and his friend are going to make a porno. They know these slags who are up for it apparently. He asked if he could borrow lighting equipment and stuff too, but no dice.

His plan is to make a porno, sell it, get some money, "It's all about the money" apparently. I pointed out the few major problems with his plan, how's he planning to sell this, where? WHO would buy this? etc etc.

He's dead serious about making a porno, so welldone to him :)

The thing about low quality is that normally im the drawer, and i love to see how my animations and drawings look in the actual game itself, i hate to see my own stuff viewed in low quality because you cant really appreciate the whole effort the author's put into it. But thats just my opinion.

I don't like the way flash does low quality. Wouldn't it be nice if the way it didn't use anti-aliasing basically turned your art into pixelart? That'd make making pixel art and pixel art games a whole lot easier... Instead it makes it all ugly and jagged and random looking. It makes it look like flash is going "oh well, I'll put it over here. I'll just put this line here for no reason." Things just aren't exactly where they're supposed to be.

Haha, what is he paying them in? Delusions of grandure? His plan sounds a little half baked. Even professional porno is terrible. Some amateur attempt with a few pieces of rented equipment and a bunch of nobodies who probably have backne and cellulite or something.. I don't know how that'd sell. Tell him he should probably make niche porno. Fetish weirdos will buy it no matter how shittily made :P
Well now I'm starting to feel like the pornstar mod, so I think I'll leave it at that and go back to being a rockstar.

Nah, being young is great in london! Cheap drinking with only a crapp ylevely of fake idee needed, and living on the edge; never completely sure whethor or not you'll get mugged or stabbed or bombed or caught by the police for undersage drinking. Well, this is where it gets a little nastier, the original plan (it was his friends plan) was for the guy I know to star in the porno, his friend had lined up these two old 40 odd year old women who where well up for it, and he invited the guy I know over. He'd gotten champagne and coke to intice them into it. The guy I know said no though, so now he is camera man.

He is one of those people who could just pull off saying something like "Nah, it's simple mate, all you gotta do is push them down a dark alley way, have your fun and be off, easy". His plan will blatantly not work, but when I asked him how he's gunna distribute it he was like "Well you know that sex shop in town, i'll just take a box in there and give them some to sell 'eer you are, flog a few of them for me and you can have half the money'. He said his backup would be putting it on the net.

But high quality makes the animation look bad if it lags, which is pretty important too. I like to have it at medium quality by default.
