I'm not frustrated. It's just kind of a bummer - I think it's harder to build a name as an animator than as a programmer. Actually i think its easier to build a name as an animator than a programmer, Programming is harder, and I know alot of animators :\. Maybe it's just the fact i don't pay enough attention to the Gaming scene.

That would make sense though. In a community where there's more animators you have more competition to prove your superiority. But I didn't know you animated Neg? I always pegged you as the bottled glasses, suspender wearing, geek like me. Animators are like the drummers of Flash ;)

As far as knowing programmers goes, I'd say that you're one of the most well known ones, ranking up there with Denvish, Cybex, True Darkness, and maybe even Tom.

I mean, You've worked with Luis on Mucusmopha, you worked with Ryan Khatam (w/e) on Johnny Rocketfingers 2, and now you're working with Mindchamber and Luis on the brawler.

Not to mention that I go on your site all the time to play games since I can get on it around Websense.

Pink Eye

Has anyone ever had pink eye before? Today I put in my contacts and like my eye started burning. It's been burning on and off all day. So I get home, and I take out my contacts. My right eye immediately starts burning like hell.

Here I am, with my eye burning.. my mom goes "i'll call the doctor later.." MY EYE IS BURNING :( It's like the inside of it too, making it constantly tear up.

It's like there's something in there or something.
I know I talk alot about eyes often, but this is hurting :(

Well, if your eye started hurting when you put your contacts in, then you just needed to clean up your contacts.

Since it's still burning, you obviously fucked up.

Pink eye hurts regardless of whether or not you have contacts in.

Plus, you should get some eye goop going on.

Just suck it up and put in some eye drops. Regardless of it being pink eye or not, it may be an infection, so if you see a GP, they'll probably perscribe some medicated eye drops.

And unless your eye is horrible bloodshot, itchy, and giving you a smelly goop, it's not pink eye.

If your eye hurt and THEN you tried to put in your contact lens, then you are a fucking moron.

Jesus Christ traveling is so complicated. Ahem, I mean traveling cheap is so complicated. I am planning a trip to Amsterdam and London with a couple friends this summer and we have a tight budget so we're finding the cheapest possible way to get there. Right now, it is going to take us one flight, two trains, a ferry ride, and another train ride just to get to Amsterdam. It's the same back. Oh my god...the train/ferry/train combo is a 12 hour MEGA JOURNEY OF DEATH. It's cheap...but I now know why people fly...so they don't have to go through this...it'll be so worth it though.

I am planning on seeing Daft Punk (it'll be my second time in the summer) and I am going to attend Sensation White. Basically, it is going to be the most amazing trip ever... if we ever get there. All of this is on top of being in Amsterdam! Even if you don't see any top DJs...you'll have a fan-fucking-tastic time. I can't wait.

If any of you want to meet up in London some time around June, 30th and July 11th, I'll be around. WOO.

I love to travel, and actually road travel is pretty entertaining, I think i'd enjoy 12 hrs on a train than 12 on a plane, theres just more to look at and its more economical.
Sounds like an awesome trip, i've had that exact same agenda in mind, I just havent gotten around to doing it yet. I'm hoping to sometime this year.

Is anyone else here going/gone through it?

I've seriously been almost a 6 month slum of not being able to animate or barely even draw on paper.

I feel bad, because I really want to make a piece for my collab, but I'm just so not feeling it.

Even Keicho is feeling it, as well as a lot of other artists I know.

I think lack of motivation is natural, sometimes you just go on a dry spell and its normal.
Two years though is kind of concerning... i think maybe you've done worthwhile things they just dont register on your radar and you just beat yourself up about it unjustly.
I think you should look at it from a more positive point of view... I find that talking to other artists and sort of taking interests in the stuff others are doing are a good way to get my mojo going again... the hardest thing for me is rebounding from my last movie... i find it so hard to get myself back in productive mode. Right now I'm trying to devise an interesting collab, i see a shitload going on right now, and they are just not that great. I really want to get something interesting and refreshing going on. Was talking to AloneInthedark the other day and he had some really cool ideas for a collab, so you see just mingling with other artists is very therapeutic.

Funny you ask, he was telling me about how he had come to the states to visit, he did the trip you are making but in opposite directions. He seems to be doing ok. He was buttoning up his Jinas movie or it seemed that way anyway but I think he just took a break from art for a bit. Sometimes a break is just what one needs to really get going again.. sometimes art is like taking a shit, and you should just let it come out when it wants rather than trying to force it out and poping blood vessels and tearing your asshole open.... :/
