I'm not trying to resurrect the 'everyone gone omg ftw :D:D' topic, but it doesn't seem like there are any mods on anymore (Luis isn't on that much). Luckily, there aren't any major shit topics atm, but i was just wondering where the authority is :S.

We need something to rebel against ;).

Truthfully, the Flash forum has been extremely mild for the past few months. I don't know if this is the calm before the storm (anyone who's been around a few years knows about the Summer months :P), but it's been actually pleasant not having to ban tons of people.

PM's work fine, just hit a mod you are a familiar with and they should respond, if not before another mod gets to your problem.

I'm still around, i just have a brutal week with pico day and a bunch of client shit right now.
I'm taking May off from animation so i'll be back to poluting this place.

Mods outside of the flash forum suck tho.. im kind of annoyed at em. I hope they are leaving

they outnumber flash mods and its impossible to win against them or to suggest anything. It sucks to have this forum and how its run at the mercy of people who have no clue about flash.

I wasn't paying attention that much. I once noticed that in an episode of Family Guy they forgot to fill in Peter's hand so it was transparent.

But er yeah, where can I pick up on what you were talking about? Got a link? A little more info? Oh yeah, well actually I saw the new Biker mice from Mars a month or two ago, and this one character (one of the mice, the dopey one I think) was chasing someone, and everytime they cut back to him in a shot his waistcoat was removed/back on/removed/back on and so on. Was really strange.

The show looked really cheaply done. It's funny watching something just to speculate on it, like there was no real scenery that they could be bothered to draw, just shove em on the side of a mountain with no surroundings innit..

Thinking about it I bet some of us here could make something proper decent if we put our arses into it. I set up me PS2 the other day (wanting to play 'Shadow of the collusus' when my ngga comes down), and played GTA - Vice. The graphics are really shoddy in parts. They are 'good enough' but to the degree that we could probably do them if we were given the job.

I just wanna back up what's already been said. Most of us Flash mods are still around, even if not as much as before. And I'm on AIM for several hours of the day if you need to reach me. On top of that, we are trying to get some new mods in - but as Luis said - any modding has to go through the General mods as well, meaning our votes amount to beans.

cool little thing i tried out, doesn't look good when you make it move around, however here, i made it bounce, and as it approached settling (sitting on gorund, but still compressing, expanding phases) i took this screenshot showing mesh and velocities of particles in the player

from the velocities you can see its currently expanding out again against ground, before spring forces will cause it to collapse, velocities to tangle, and then eventually drop down as it compresses into ground, etc etc.

Its a shame i couldn't get that demo working, cause it looks very, very sweet. If you could record a demo for us with this I'm sure wed all love to see :). I'm just asking, but who are you aiming this at? Or is it just a personal project to see what you can do (which seems to be a lot) ;).

Yeah, if i think about it, its probably the lack of threads being locked i've seen, not the actual lack of mods. They just need each other to exist, if there are no bad threads, there are no mods to lock them :S. I got you all to post though ;).

well, basicly, my hope, is that once i get the engine finished to a satisfactory degree, ill search for someone experianced with either maya or 3dsmax to work with me and design and model levels for it, and then release it as some sort of downloadable game on a website with ad revenue or something i dunno, but not just a personal project :P

it is being programmed in C++, using openGL and CG (C for Graphics) for the vertex and fragment shaders (i.e. all the graphical effects -> per pixel lighting, normal mapping, specular highlights etc, and once i learn how to properly, shadow mapping)

Music

Meh, I feel like talking about music. I'm highly into music, all aspects. I love playing, listening, everything. I started playing violin when I was 9, which means I've been playing for about 6 years. As lame as it may seem for a 16 year old kid to be playing violin in high school, I'm into a great deal of metal and heavy metal, or even general rock. I also enjoy and appreciate Classic Rock, and lots of different music. Recently I picked up guitarring, and with my knowledge of music (reading notes, counting, tempo, basic string structure) I'm progressing rather well.

So anyway, what type of music do you all listen to. Like I said, I listen to a lot of metal/heavy metal, and here are some of my favorite bands if you want to swap convos with/about them:
