What if the button's rollover image fades in though?
What if there's some simple animation that could be duplicated with a .gif, but is slightly sharper and a bit smaller with a .swf?
Understandable, but simple image-to-image rollovers done in flash (which I see a lot) pisses me off.
True, the whole flash website thing is difficult. With flash you can make a really fantastic site, but alot of people just make simple scroll buttons, or an entire site out of flash, even though its functions are the same as an HTML or other type of site. I like sites that have spectacular openings to them, that aren't over 5 seconds, but really add a spice, then the buttons are interactive and make sense with the theme of the site. I saw a couple like that, forget the URL, but sites that use the basic layout that can be accomplished with html (easily) but are made in flash seem pointless and un-professional.
And I could see 300 if I wanted to, but it would require planning, and if it takes planning to see a movie I'm out. Me and my friend tried renting Underworl Evolution at Rogers, but the bitch at the counter asked for damn ID, and we didn't have a plan, so we ran... to blockbuster and rented a game...
