The Draft

I just wrote a four page paper on why I would support the draft(a non-traditional Israel-esque version specifically) and I'm somewhat pleased with my work. I almost feel like posting it in general or something.

I think the highlight of the paper is when I quoted Fight Club.

I've made like, what, five mistakes of the multiple hundreds I've gtfoed?
Don't be concerned with the user-of-the-day thing, if someone new would notice it he would express it and have it explained.

Check the filesize first, if it's less than a GB and a DVD, it's no movie. Check your download speed (less than 50-100 kB/s for a movie, don't bother). And use a tracker where comments are allowed, and check what people have to say about it.

If it hadn't of been for that fight club thing - i'd have thought it'd be you expressing your love for air conditioning or something.

Sometimes I forget how many people here aren't American. The draft is when the US government forcefully recruits people into the military in a time of need. The last draft was back in the Vietnam Era and it was so unpopular that no politician would enact it today. The problem is that our all volunteer army doesn't have the man power to both protect our interests at home and abroad.

Something similar to the way Israel has all citizens join the military at a certain age would not only give us a near limitless supply of troops for defense and humanitarian needs(the kinds of things we least credited with but still are expected to do) and greatly impact American society(for the better most likely). If nothing else, having so many people serve in the military would solve our obesity problems.

We call that "conscription". The UK will call up it's young people to fight if another World War breaks out too. Don't worry...

Not all people in the armed forces need to be fighters. Plenty of opportunity for national service without needing weapons training. Friends in Greece have to serve it, and they simply have desk jobs in logistics, thanks to spending five years over here learning a computer animating trade and getting thier Masters.

I don't like the idea of National Service or conscription. But then again, I know I'd fail physical tests for front line combat, and have skills better suited for computer administration. Oh... and having a Bachelors Degree helps...

Hmm... actually, another major war in Europe would probably solve a lot of the UK's chav problem...

Humanitarian needs?
lol, here when a male turn 18 he picks a ball, if its white he does military service on saturdays the whole year, if its black he doesnt, but in war he'll be the irst to go, its plainly luck..as if there was war on mexico...

Well, yeah, there may be less crimes i guess.

Good point. I loed at it.

You know, guys, there's countries that force citizens to be part of the military at a certain age. I feel satisfied with our current situation.

Alot of stuuf about the draft that I can't quote all of it =D

The draft is actually considered unconstitutional now and would take alot of work in order to get it re-instated. The only good thing a draft or forced service could bring is a lack of willingness to blindly go to war. cough*iraq*cough. Personally I believe if a volunteer army can get the job done, then forced enlistment is a little, you know, pointless. Not to start a political battle, but honestly with the current administration, i'd rather not give them more troops to play with.

It's been a while since i posted,

I was reading some of subaru freeks posts and how hasn't he been banned, it seems he posts everyday and every single time its abusive or in someway insulting kingben, (I don't htink he knwos how to handle himself either but at leaste he's trying).

But, that is a nice trace job, but to me it still is a trace, which just takes time and patience. The coloring on the other hand, is spot on and that takes alot of work =P

I'm cool now... Right guys?... Guys?

Install and run hijackthis. Copy the log out, and get it taken to the Castle Cops Hijack This Forum

They will give you step by step directions on how to remove any viruses or spyware from your computer for free, and will eliminate incredibly difficult problems that your antivirus can't get rid of.

Oh blah, never mind then. I fresh install of windows will do the trick most of the time, unless its a hardware issue. Try that for starters, make sure you back up your life's work on a storage media.

Lesson of the Day:

Never try to use Acne-Blemishing Treatment cream for like a pimple on your face. I just tried it and it like burned away my face. I literally thought I was dying, I was running around the house screaming -- "AH, MY FACE IS BURNING! I'M DYING... I'M ON FIRE!"

My parents just looked at me like I was crazy. It literally burns your face away for like 10 minutes.

It's better now -- BUT never put too much on. Just deal with the pimple -___- I guess.

Burning them away HURTS...fucking treatment cream.

I can't stand pimples though..or anything thats on my face -- I'm so self-conscious that everyone is looking at me just because of it. Ah I'm such a loser.

What do you guys think?

Can't say I've ever tried the stuff myself. I am sure I never will now :P

Make a fake Rock Band

Just read this not too long ago. Being a Guitar Hero fan, I am in love with this idea, and think that if it's done good, it will be an amazing game, especially if you have everyone playing in the same room.

I expect someone to say "Learn play the real thing" which I am trying (for guitar), but this will probably be awesome nonetheless.

It hurts like hell. I was literally doing "stop, drop, and roll" for like...10 minutes :P

RE: Make a fake Rock Band

Guitar hero is pretty fun for the first 5 times of playing it -- well for me. I liked playing it and all but I soon got bored with it. Probably because I was basically horrible at it. I'm gonna stick to my dancing skills in Dance Dance Revolution rather than my Instrumental department.

;)
