I know. That's why I did it. For some reason, seeing different people say the same stupid shit over and over again is getting to me. So I'm starting to make posts that are a lot more angry.

3000

I never thought I'd have 3000 posts. Only took five years.

As for you subtle dis of the PS3, unless you want to bring fanboyism and flaming into this thread I don't know why you would mention that. Fact is, I plan to get a PS3 over the summer so I'm prepared for GTA IV.

I'll flat out diss the ps3. I think its overpriced, it has about 5 games total. I seriously cant fathom why anyone would pay 600 some dollars for a video game console... Sony needs to come back to earth... if its gonna make people pay that premium price it should atleast have released the system with a strong lineup of games. Its done none of that. Its probably no wonder game companies are still releasing shit for the ps2 considering how weak the ps3 is performing in terms of profitability.

I'll continue my dissage through all game consoles. I'm fairly disappointed with all three of the giants. The wii is way too kiddie... its the kind of concept that my mom would find fun.. oh cool we can bowl with this how fun! i think its a nice gimmick that works on die hard nintendo fans wholl buy a turn on a stick if it has a mario or zelda sticker on it... and a perfect system for parents/nooblets to gaming but i find it hard to take it seriously as a serious gaming device... also ive noticed there is a slight lag in the movement recognition system.. granted its probably impossible to make something thats lightning quick to your movements but it leads me to question why even event something like that then. its sort of like the call of duty series where each title the smoke is even more realistic but the computer ai is about as smart as a doornail. why bother.

The xbox 360.. is alright... id probably enjoy it more if they released games on a more regular basis. I've heard the online aspect of it is very enjoyable and well recieved but im an offline gamer .. i want to pay 50 bucks be done with it in a week and go spend 50 on something else.
Also I wish the controler was better designed... I still think the super nintendo's controller hit the absolute clitoris of the gamer.. its a compact shape its got alot of buttons but not 2 billion of them...

Anyway just wanted to say that. im done with video game talk now :P

Luis' Opinions

I kinda want to yell at you and hug you at the same time.

All I have to say is I can't stand people who look at the PS3 price and instantly remark how they are "totally getting an Xbox360". The two are not identical with a cheaper equivalent. It IS tragic that the PS3 is price so high, but its not OVERPRICED. It's just they decided to stick a blue-ray in each and everyone of them marking the price up so damn much.

None of the gaming systems have any real solid games. Actually, that's wrong. Each one has about one. If I had to choose I'd much rather give my money to sony just so I don't have to admit to giving Bill Gates more money that he doesn't need.

Too bad mommy and daddy won't give me the extra few hundred for the PS3. Life is so hard for us 12 year olds, Luis.

It's not being discriminative, people honor what does them good. Taking it universally binary is much more significant ofcourse.

Books on Animation

I'm thinking about buying a book on animation and I have 2 quesions:

1. Do you guys have any personal favorites, or generally accepted "bibles" that would be worth my money and time.

2. Many books about animation that I see are mainly based on drawing on paper then importing into the computer, are there any books that deal with mainly computer animation?

Luis Opinions on this new gen

PS3- I played the PS3's child "RESISTANCE" which OMG a shooter! And the graphics did not wow me at all, but the game was fun, 5 more games as fun as Resistance and the PS3 would be sort of kind of worth it. Its over priced because its features are under developed and it wasn't released properly. Its an epic console that wasn't put out at an epic scale.

Xbox 360- WTF is the difference between it and the Xbox besides the online features which all consoles are doing? The only game every talks about is Gears, which is another Shooter, with aliens. Although I haven't heard of another alien shooter for the xbox consoles at all.... pfft halo... I truly think the xbox is nothing, it came during the easy era when sony and nintendo brought 3D gaming upon us, then microsoft shows up "lol we have console!".

wii- Luis, you say the controls are gimmicky and all, Nintendo somewhat means it, however the potential for these controls is fantastic, however they have to pull off something really awsome with them. That being Said Twilight Princess is a terrible game. I am an uber Zelda fan and my wall is full of Zelda posters, Twilight is Nintendo saying "sorry we got rid of the Ocarina style" and then they copied it but totally screwed it up. I never wanted to play, the controls were nice and pulled off well, BUT the characters were absolutely terrible! The only two characters I didn't want to decapitate and hurt really badly were link and zelda, and zelda goes and kills her self. Every other chick was fat or always pissing me off by taking Epona and there were gay clowns. I finished the game (barely) and decided never to play it again and I'm back on my PS2...
The bowling and all is a gimmic but a great idea, it makes it so you can play the wii right out of the box, and thats what Nintendo wanted, to move consoles and get people started. I am really only looking forward now to Super Mario Galaxy, if they screw it up I don't know what I'll do. I think they need the option to play with old school controls (which in Mortal Kombat Armageddon coming to wii, it will have the option) for games. They need a game to hurry up and replace Twilight Princess, it is truly a dissapointment 4 years in the making. Red Steel can't be finished because it doesn't have glitch detection so when I'm sniping and the aimer started to have convulsions you can't pause and fix something you have to shut the wii off and restart level. Excite Truck is like a demo game, fun, tiny, mildly addictive. Elebits is very... original.

Ending statement- Of all the consoles, get an N64 or a PS2 and start to get some games you missed, none of the consoles are worth anything at all. I waited 12 hours for the wii and for the "epic" zelda game. Nintendo delivered the console but didn't deliver the Zelda game we were all waiting for. No memorable moments or places at all... I'm playing Ratchet and Clank going commando now... I haven't touched my wii in months (lol, touched my wii...)

This whole time I've been listening to Detroit Rock City... GET DOWN!

Whoa its me!

Tau'ri

Update on C++ tauri engine:

http://denvish.net/ulf/310307/2454_lol.jpg

full textured triangle shit now, key control (arrow keys + AS for jump control) note how its squished into the gap on ledge at back of scene.

theres also a cool cutscene style part, where the whole world spins around for 4 seconds with the player still moving on its own

Drawing Bodies

I always start drawing by the head, if I dont, I cant get the proportions right, but shortmonkey si using guides so its not like it matters where he starts from, it is for people who doesnt know how to draw, and have the trasform tool. XD

DRAWIN' BODAYS!

Well, I draw sketches.

From what I've seen, most people do it this way too.

I make a real rough sketch, usually not more than an outline, but I do a brief animation with it.

like Luis' sketch tut that he put up a while ago.

In fact, that's what a lot of the great artists use, like Mindchamber.

I have noticed most people do it that way to, you mena like, you draw first like a circle and then add the details, right? coz thats the way I've seen it, at least on tv.
I draw directly, i dont use any sketches or guides, i sometimes make a line when the drawing isnt coming out correctly to have correct proportions, but ussually i finish off with the head with al its details before I proceed to the neck, for example, unless i forget something and then return to head and add it, of course. But ussually I only erase when I'm mistaken instead of erasing guidelines and stuff.

Vacation

I just got back from vacation from Southern California. Did you miss me? Anyways, I only actually got to stay 3 days, but I had fun anyway. Never got to the beach though. It would have been fun to meet up with other NG Reg Lounge persons. Anything particularly earth-shattering happen while I was away?
