Moral Issue

Ok. So my roommate got asked if he wanted any beer, because this guy was going to get some. I was in the room the entire time, yet the invitation was never extended to me, which I find kinda rude. Either way, I get back from dinner and my fridge has many beers just sitting inside.

Would it be wrong to help myself to one or two? I don't really want any, because its bud, and bud is awful. But honestly, it seems like just deserts considering I was left out of the picture.

You will know. what to do when you are calm, at peace, sober. A real man uses the booze for fun and good times, never for revenge.

On the other hand, take the booze, MM.

The water in Majorca don't taste like what it oughta.

I have updated my site

I know I have promoted (well, tried to) this website a couple of months ago, however, only Luis was the only one who was friendly enough (or maybe he was just the only one bored enough) to actually give me some comments. Since that time the website has changed quite a bit, we have a (unused) forum and some actual 'members'! So I feel I can give it another go.

Promotional/introductional talk: Our main goal is to create some sort of starting point for new website authors to promote their website in a simple and costless way, and also to create some sort of community in which new authors can share their experiences and questions with the more experienced ones. The main inspiration for iPubble actually is Newgrounds, the big difference being that we focus on websites, instead of Flash based content.
The real reason for this post: At the moment we sort of have a terrible lack of visitors hence I made this post to try and lure some NG'ers to our site.

Give it a go, please

On a sidenote: How the hell did you people get other people to come to your websites and actually stick there....

Well, to be honest, you rarely help out, and when you do it's not with the right information. So no, I don't think you do.

Then don't try and help out. What if someone comes here as a one off need for actionscript help, you tell them something wrong, they go, use it, find out it's wrong, then don't know what to do. Whereas you could have left it and waited for someone who does know what they're doing to help and they'll be fine.
Also, you constantly spam with pointless shit...

Ceramic Basins of Fun

WELL. Last week, for me, was spent in and out of school feeling crappy and feeling less crappy enough to make it through a couple classes. Miserable, but doable. Then that Friday evening spent in the background vomiting my brains into the toilet and barely sleeping at all. It was absolutely miserable.

Well, apparently I had thrown up so violently I disrupted some muscles in my stomach. I don't know how it happened, but my entire stomach was sore and I literally could not move or sit up or really do anything. The next week was spent entirely in bed until I finally mustered the strength to at least get up and go into the TV room.

Not fun, but I can finally get up and on the computer and get some work done now.

Collab co-author
Im still not sure about this new way of doing the collabs, if i was to do a collab then i would say "4 co-authors" mainly because this would push the effort people put in up. If you make a collab with 6 co-authors for example and there are only 6-7 parts in your collab, who is really going to bother? Especially people who are new at flash and would take it as an oppurtunity to get a BA

BA

Are people really that obsessed about getting a good batting average? I guess if you are new to the scene all you want to do is impress people, but it kind of disappoints me. If you only make flash to make other people happy, then you are probably miserable during the process...that isn't fun at all. :-/

Ah. Well I don't think your point really makes sense, because it's the same as having 4 out of 5 co-authored with the old system. Don't forget that the holder of the collab could just be like 'Well we're only having 4 co authors' to keep that competition up, although I don't really think that's a big deal in collabs.

BA/Collabs

when you join a collab, do you do it to increase ur BA or to work along side other poeple and se what the final outcome will be like ?

oh, ba is important if you want to lead a collab aswell ;)

400

omg

300, the game

Wow, a game based on a movie yet looks nothign like the movie.. wel thought out there.. for fuck sake, how cna these big companies make games based off movies yet they suck hard and the only thign they have in common are the names.

only thing worse is mvoies based on games.. resi evil, house of the dead... ect..

prehaps the metroid movie < if ever made> will have something to do with metroids...

Rather sad that a single person can make a better moviebased game or game based moive than the big companies...

obv talking about ng.

That just generally seems childish. Like, I can't imagine that someone who behaves like they're 12 should really be drinking in the first place. I'd say, no offense, but I whole heartedly feel like that way and that there is something either fundamentally wrong with you or you need to start maturing.

Right but isn't putting your flash in public to provide entertainment or thought into people. I make games that are small but try to be addictive so they're fun little time wasters, if they're not fun and people don't like em then theres no point to the game. And if no one is happy with your flash animation then why would you put it in the public eye? And depredation asked for a photoshop tutorial and a friend of mine is putting together a photoshop video tutorial site called www.photoshopcubed.com and the site is still needs some work but theres some tutorials already and the videos are very high quality.

Whoa its me!

Yeah I saw that last night. The graphics are incredible, at least that's how they appear for PS#. But who honestly has a PS3? Thank god they are smart enough to still make it for PS2.

If you want to make art for arts sake, then I've got to wonder why people would stay around here. This is a place where everything you submit will be judged on a scale from zero to five, and will be culled from the herd if the first two hundred viewing predators deal it enough damage. And there must be a little pleasure - no matter how small it is for seeing your work on front page or seeing just what people rate it. Otherwise flashwork would be confined to your own website where it'll be safe.

Arts for Arts sake is a long, deep, philosophical rant that normally involves Michaelangelo statues no one can see being placed in deathtraps designed to kill anyone who sees it. But trimmed down it's normally about whether art is art if it's solely for the enjoyment of the artist and not of the audience. You can do fantastic things with Flash and not submit anything to NG and bask in the solitary warmth of being damn good at what you do, or you can submit to the portal and get the kudos for your skills and possibly be labelled as mercenary in the process.

soft body is modelled by a geodesic sphere that is generated by recursive teselation of a predefined isocahedron.

real triangle/particle collision detection and resolving

just finished adding the triangles in, going to add texturing for them now (reason why they are red and have outlines)

"is"

Anyway, looks great. What are you programming it in, program wise? Visual Basic?

They're not. I feel like I've been seeing more and more stupid comments on the BBS. I mean if you cared enough to look at the trailer, you would think you would care enough to know what the fuck you're talking about. At least if you're going to go to the trouble of writing about it you should know a thing or two.

It's for the PS3 and the Xbox360. I find it hard to believe you think they could actually make a game that would look like that on the PS2. I'm seriously hoping that was a typo but going by the context of what you wrote i don't think it is.

As for you subtle dis of the PS3, unless you want to bring fanboyism and flaming into this thread I don't know why you would mention that. Fact is, I plan to get a PS3 over the summer so I'm prepared for GTA IV.

I hope this post was enlightening for you.
