Even for a joke you should have spent more than 5 seconds on it

Lol, keep using your masterpiece then, the extra 5 seconds you took really shows.

I wonder if it's illegal to use a proxy server, or are those all blocked too?

Of course it is. I assume like Websense or similar filters at schools and libraries, proxies will just get blocked and running around the law will get you in trouble.

I don't see how you guys can now be impressed by the movie. I mean for those who aren't interested because you haven't seen it, that I might be able to understand, but if you saw it and were not impressed then I don't know whats wrong with you. The only problem I had was after almost two hours of killing with brief interruptions for minor things like plot, nudity, and more nudity it seemed to end somewhat abruptly. I mean, I could've kept watching Leonidas kick ass for another two hours.

Regardless, I think I love the scene where he was eating that apple to be the best. Where did it come from?

Rammstein

I was never a big fan before, but I got an album and I really enjoy listening to it. Its kinda tragic that I can't understand what's being said but its still nice. The song Moskau has become a favorite.

I made a post in general a while back about it being OK to be an alcoholic as long as you had money to spend, or rather waste. Like if you were rich and didn't have a family to support or some such then who cares.

Money runs out and if you get into any bad groove it's always wasting your own life.

Even if it's 'okay for society', that doesn't make it ok.

Anyway, as long as you can go a weekend without drinking, or fretting over it, you're clearly not an alcoholic. You're just a regular bum.

Please, I could use some opinions on this scene from my Flash. I seem to have lost the ability to draw the line where the amount of details is an overkill and where they seem to be lacking.
Rate on a 5 point scale
pretty please?

Re2deemer's BG quality

In all honestly, I find the tank-thingy really impressive, the bg looks 'meh' but has a cool style in it. Nice colours.

If the rest of the movie carries the style, it'd look cool in my opinion.

I don't see any real problem with it.

Ok. This raises a few questions.

A. What is with the terrible quality of that video?
B. Where is the Jager?
C. Who the fuck is Louis? Its like in Resident Evil 4 when Leon would mispronounce Luis Sera as Louis. (Does this make Krinkels Leon Kennedy?)

I'm pretty sure they have a whole department that just goes around blocking any site that says shit about china. Is newgrounds blocked? When i did it it said error :(.

It'd bug the crap out of me if a government did that :O.

vaChina
Yeah NG is blocked pretty crap really i mean theres like what 123 million internet users in china? thats not even 10% i mean its 5 times the population of my whole country but even we have like 72% internet users (Australia, United States has 68%) but i guess having the people chose for themselves allows the people to choose their restrictions and if the people want their internet access restricted then the people get what the people want

Tile based games Rawk!
Until now, I'd never really bothered attemtping to make a tile based game. It all seemed prett y pointless to me; what's the point of using tiles when you have more feedom not using them?

But now that I've tried them, I love them. Collision detections are made easier and perfect. And it's really easy to add new places and stuff.

RE: Tile Based Games Rawk

Maybe you're right about not having as much freedom, but it's much easier to make a game. My only problem with them is how many tiles you'd have to make to make an in-depth game.

The tiles-vs-space concept is aswell seen in drawing versus code. Why guess numbers if you can draw?

I don't think thats a problem. So far, I've been able to code it a lot faster than a drawn one.

Since there's only 50 or so different places to be on the screen, it's a lot easier to maage. You can add objects really easy and stuff.

If you represent a door with a 2, all you have to do is say that if the character is standing on a 2, make him walk through the door. No need to make it scan through a list of all the doors and do hitTests to see if you're on a door, and if you are whether or not you're far enogu h in the door to go right through.

I would be quite impressed if someone could recreate one of those games, theyre reasonably complex, inventory wise.

This site is fantastic if you want to learn some tile based stuff, really well laid out and easy to learn.

Tiles own, I don't use them too much, but blockslide wouldn't have been possible without tiles.

Re: BritishMoose's new submission!

Nice. I gave it a three. I like the sound and the concept, as well as a lot of the artwork, but the line animation was a bit choppy at times.

I liked it i would have prefered more to happen in it but i still liked it.

It reminded me of your submission to the weekly animators thing the morphing one i think it was you who did the man to a bird.
