I think the reason that cartoons aren't animated very well anymore is because people beyond the animation community don't really care. People don't analyze every detail meticulously like most animators do mindlessly. So for them to spend the money to make the simpsons look slightly better won't gain them anymore views and very few people will notice.

Aren't most adverts and promotional dvd's all cgi now (not that it makes a differencce i'm just curious).
But take for example lucky charms, a beautiful colorful animation of their leprachon dancing around through the woods might sell them many more boxes of cereal. Their clients meaning children maybe 4 to 9 just ask for whatever cereal they see on T.V and making something vibrant and colorful, (along with smooth animation) makes them more likely to remember the product

Beautifully done Luis especially your part, I thout meebs' didn't fit in very well though. (That was mostly a vehicle to ask you a question I hope you answer) I don't know but to me Hans seems to be up his own ass, I mean he's good but he seems to think he's at a status of legendary and believes that he is well better than he really is.

With that said I figured I'd try to critique your part

Nice use of camera angels and very well done art everyh\ing was done top notch, My only real thought was that there could have been more movement of the characters between scenes . Also I wish you guys had decided against the scene titles and just credited everybody in the credits or there name in the bottom right for the first 4 or 5 seconds of each part, The whole placard thing ruined the flow.

Thought I'd ask a quetion while stating my opinion and giv e you my thoughts on the movie. Your animation as always waas flawless but the fluidity wasn't great

Well I wasnt in control of the collab so theres obviously some things i would have done differently. I aint gonna diss it though its a solid little piece.

As for my part, i sort lost a little steam after that rear camera of the guy walking.. that took ages and sort of threw me behind schedule. So the next parts were kind of conservative.

What I found cool about the collab was just the different take on what type of things people can collab on.. doesnt have to always be a music video and i like the chance this collab took regardless of what anyone came up with as a solution.

In regards to AlmightyHans 'ego' .. meh i see it as just another personality in the flash world. The portal and the scene here at newgrounds even is sort of this place where if you can prove yourself once you sort of grow larger balls and so it 'feels' like you can carry your weight around. I know alot of people complain that i act like that as a mod (trying to fix btw :P) but not everyone is the complete dickhead they appear to be.. stamper is a perfect example. hes rough around the edges here but in person hes quite cool. Thats not to say im cool in person cause im not lol. But Im a very closed person and very quiet about what i do in real life. Few people ever know i do flash for you all or even have a website and thats how i prefer it. Anyway i guess just take it easy on people and know that maybe they are just really excited about their work, afterall flash takes ages to release game maker or movie maker so i mean if you ever submitted something then you know you sort of have this high after submitting like 'yea im the shit' like you just blew your biggest load after years of not wacking off.. you just gotta let the person sort of enjoy that little orgasm.

Ok thanx for clearing that up, and I get what you mean and yes its a solid piece. I just always thought he was high on his own shit. Anyways I get what you mean about submitting work, I've made a personal contract to keep my oldstuff out of the portal so I'm encouraged to finish the work I start, which clearly hasn't worked to well up to this point seeing as a year later I still don't have anything in the portal =D.

But that behind the feet walk was very cinematrical (wrong conjigation I'm sure) and beautiful. (I guessing its where you thought of the idea for the weekly challenge of the odd camera angle)
And understand why you became more conservative.

Just from waht I've seen you've never seen to be that full of yourself or not enough for )non-perceptive) me to actually think anything to myself, or really anyone else here, (i've never actually spoken to stamper beyond his art forum posts).

Re: Dumbell's "unique" Style

This is probably the only time this is going to get brought up but I really wanted to say this.
So I watched Dumbell recently and anyone who has, must have seen the use of intense motion blur throughout the toon. (I'm not talking about any filters either) but he seems to fill in all the space, go through it frame by frame for a minute and your bound to see what I mean.

This whole part really doesn't have a point other to point out an effect the worked out really well in a short and how I'm suprised I hadn't seen it before.

Hey, that's awesome, you have so many tricks up your sleeve. Anyway, I think the only problem with it is the rear wall where sometimes jagged edges make it look kinda dodgy.

Nice, few parts felt like it didn't fit, such as meeb's but he did get the comdic role so it's expected.

My collab piece

Dont think i mentioned it and i dont think you all read the credits in that movie but mogly directed my little piece. Was sort of wierd working from someone elses storyboard and vision but it was also kind of cool because it used camera shots that i probably wouldnt have considered. All in all cool experience i recommend it, just make sure youre friends with the person. I see alot of junky threads with people who just want to direct and its tougher when you dont really trust the person.

good to see more of these kind of flash :)

Gotten sick of those tiny cartoons that last a few seconds but get huge scores 'cuz they are just silly, dispite animation being below 'simpsons standards'.

I think author names should be hidden until the flash has passed (or failed) judgment, to prevent users automatically voting high just because they recognise the name.

Even if the submissions are crap or they get through because of fame, blocking the names is a bad solution, they could just put it in the flash...and newgrounds isn't communist. Tutorial Contest

Hey, due to the short of content here I'll be launching a tutorial contest here to freshen things up :) I won't be doing so for one company or another but a lot of good guys are chipping in like Dan (Armor Games) and Tom (Newgrounds) as well as others.

I'm accepting contributions as long as they're not money (stuff like t-shirts, flash related equipment, etc is welcome), you'll get a link to your site and a mention but I won't have people include stuff in their entries :)

I'll be launching it in 3 days :) Expect more info about it later.
