What are you currently working on that's making your brain melt between your ears from it's complexity? Must be something you lot are working on that makes you feel just a teeny-little bit annoyed you can't find the simplest solution for.

For me at the moment it's the Hunter-Killer Algorithm. I'm trying to develop a random maze/dungeon algorithm for a tile based game (yay forTonypa and Jamis Buck), but the way I've worked it out won't allow it to work. Tonypa's tilebased tutorial works on the premise of equal sized tiles, whereas the hunter-killer maze generating algorithm works by giving each member of a grid a wall, which would have to be far thinner than the tile. And seeing as I'm neither an actionscripting god or a discreet maths whiz, my brain's just struggling to work out the basic algorithm for it - let alone taking that psuedocode and coding it into Flash

It's going to require a lot of tinkering from me. Especially since I want that isometric dungeon basher made soon...

A fill tool for a "paint replica" i'm making. I finally got there, but it took ages to think up a concept.

Also, because i want to make the paint replica with BitmapData so that i can eventually turn the result into a jpg, i found it hard to produce a line tool and oval tool. I spent ages using the y=mx+c forumla and x^2+y^2=r^2 to try to create the tools, but it left loads of gaps in them. I spent a good few hours trying to do this, and then i just realised i could use lineTo and curveTo and then just use BitmapData.draw().

They would be nice every now and then but some people would abuse them, the only reason I could see doing it for is if I mispelt a word and it meant something completely different, EG. tuts and tits, the 'u' and 'i' key are right next to each other.

nothing actually....i think thats my problem, and the reason why im not a better scripter then i should be. I mostly only script things i have a good grasp on and have a good idea on how to do it. I never go beyond my abuilitys, which in the end, makes you better.

What do you lot think about lockings like that. I think that threads like that should be around. They come up alot, but they should do, as this site is about the content. I would rather see topics springing up about new animations or games in the portal than the new xbox ps2 or somebodies dick.

Also the mods response, 'We have this in our profiles y'know', well, ok, but still it's not like communicating with the person just routinely looking in there profile and finding games. It's not like actually asking a question and getting an answer..
