Flash Snobs
Flash snobs. Geezus. They help people out as if they run the place, and put down users. General assholes.
I had a kid logon and make fun of me, because I have to make Flash games to make it through college. He flaunted his parents paying for his college.
I had another user come on and tell me that my worked sucked, because my graphics were terrible and if I had any guts I would hire a graphic designer, like himself. He wanted me to hire him.
And then, I had a user come up to me, telling me he decompiled my code, and because I don't use classes, that I would never make it in the Flash world. I should reconsider my style, and he could teach me.
Given that we are about one day from Christmas, what the heck? Do you have experience working with Flash snobs? My graphics suck, I don't use classes, I use depreciated code, but do people have to give me crap for it and make people feel bad about it? I feel bad for Luis when people give him crap about his mouse drawn stuff, because he has narrowed it down to an artform and does graphics that are better than most. Tablets exist, but if you can do it with a mouse, then goddamn!
Then it comes down to people calling me a flash snob and full of myself. I really go out of my way to not be that guy. If I get a monthly award or something, I won't even talk about it because I hate being the "you're such a bragging bastard" guy. But that really irks me as well. I try to keep my Flash life low key just to avoid being a Flash bastard.
I dunno, any opinions on my rant? How do you feel about being a Flash developer and having things like this over your head?
