I'm happy to fill the empty mod position left by Diki xD

#2 sorta, I can't tell if it's better or you weren't as loud in 1.

Probably number 2, it sounded crisper. Also i didnt know programmers had nice voices.

Thanks, guys. I'll see what else I can do to improve the quality. I might need a boom and a shock mount :/
Also i didnt know programmers had nice voices.
and I still can't translate sheet music into actual notes xD
thanks for the compliment, though. Means all those voice lessons I took as a kid didn't go to waste.
soo.. Uhh... Male vocalist for hire?
... No? Okay. No moneys for me :(

We don't all sound like basement-dwelling mouthbreathers.
I was going to record myself saying that in a stereotypical nerd voice but my mic is such a piece of shit that quality turned out so poor that it wasn't worth it, so let's just pretend that I did. I sure am a funny guy!

Does this do it for you? :P
Oh, i'm gonna have a lot of fun with soundcloud.

Oh fine. I'll record with my bad mic and ridiculous background noise.
I did two for the sake of doing two. This one and this one. I'm basically saying the same thing but made the breathing sounds in the second one less "saliva-y".
I also fucked up my first attempt and you can listen to that one too!
Now I await your apology. >:(
And if you're feeling really adventerous you can look at my Soundcloud profile to listen to me reading "Scrotie McBoogerBalls" as Arnnie, John Lennon, and the lead singer from Cannibal Corpse. The CC one was fucking hard and I completely broke my composure because of how ridiculous it was.

Ahh, I was going for the slightly-more-current "I AM THE DUNGEON MASTER!" feel, and you were going for the nostalgic 80's sit-com nerd feel.
I think.
Now I await your apology. >:(
You are the brave and adventurous king of dungeons, sir :P

I wasn't going for any specific style. That's just the only nerd voice that I've practised. I banged mine out really quickly too. Could have done a better job if I warmed my voice up and did it while standing, but I'm feeling especially lazy from my workout today, so fuck that. :)

I have one voice i'm actually okay at, and that's the whole "In a world..." voice. I'm pretty sure EVERYONE'S good at that one, though xD
I also have a really horrible English accent that I break out every now and then.

That super baritone movie trailer voice? I can't make my voice sound "heavy" enough to do that justice. I can do really low guttural vocals though (as you can tell from my Cannibal Corpse clip). :)
At 7/14/13 01:03 AM, egg82 wrote: I also have a really horrible English accent that I break out every now and then.
Every time I try an English or Irish accent I just end up doing my Scottish accent. Half of my family was born in Scotland so I find that accent super easy (specifically the accent heard near Glasgow or Greenock), but holy crap English and Irish accents are hard.
And here's Sean Connery telling you to go fuck yourself. Doing Connery's voice is more fun than it should be.

My mental image of you two has changed after hearing some of those. Egg no longer looks like mario, and Diki looks like a basement-dwelling mouthbreather.

Now with noise reduction!
And another noise reduction test!
Okay I'm done now. I promise I'll stop posting my stupid-ass voices. :)

If you cut my hair and quint really hard, Diki and I kinda look the same. Sorta. Ish.
Of course, there's always the possibility of one of us being shorter than the other.
I'm 6'1" - what about you, Diki?

I lied! I'm posting another to clear my name as a mouthbreather (albeit I recorded this three months ago). It's my Cannibal Corpse one that I mentioned earlier where I read The Poop That Took a Pee. You'll probably need to read along to understand me because just like the actual singer I am completely unintelligible.
Don't try this at home, folks. You can hurt your throat if you do it wrong. :)

I'm 5'6" so yeah... possibility indeed.
Well I was bored, so I profiled two projects with Scout, one uses nape and the other is an rpg. The nape one has tons of memory allocations and not as many deallocations and consistently runs at 60fps, while the rpg's alloc'd and dealloc'd objects are equal yet it has trouble keeping up at 30fps (lots of z-sorting and rendering) when the dudes move. I don't think the as3isolib library is as optimized as it could be (there was a version 2 in the works, but he's since put it on permanent hiatus), so I miiight have to bring starling into the picture. And I'm surely not touching nape's innards, so there's not much to do for that one.
Slightly more productive than recording my voice

Is it okay to ask which one is it? ;)
egg and Diki, maybe you should start uploading to the Audio Portal.
Personally, I love it because it increases my completed projects:incomplete projects ratio.
My vocal range is really small, though, so I'll stick to the piano. :P
Congrats on the job, PSVils.

Nah. I'm not quite that good at voice acting yet, and I don't practice nearly as much as I should.

This isn't bad, and also a very, very good song.
I've been thinking about starting a D&D campaign with my friends ever since my whole "I AM THE DUNGEON MASTER!" statement. I've also been thinking about livestreaming the campaign, because i'm pretty sure there'd be some entertaining stuff in it. There's one friend I have the just clashes wonderfully with us and makes everyone laugh so hard they cry.
Most of all, it should be fun for everyone, which is why I wanted to do it in the first place.
Problem is, i've never been a DM before. I've played quite a few games, and I learned quite a lot about being a DM from some experienced friends and colleagues, but otherwise I have zero experience.
Hmm...
Well, i'll give it a shot. Why the hell not? :P
That is, if my friends are even up for it in the first place

I wanna create my own website. I do not really know what I want to do with it. Is iPage a good hosting site?I see right now hosting for $1 a month. Anyone have any recommendations for web host? I do not know what to name my domain name either. hmmmm. so much to think about.

Wait until you actually have a plan to start investing time and money into that plan.
Get a VPS and use a DNS service. Trust me, it's cheaper in the long run and you have so much more control.
$1 sites will NOT give you what you want.
Other than that, make sure you know JavaScript (JQuery is always a good option) HTML 4 or 5, CSS3, and a server-side language such as ASP, PHP, Ruby, Python, etc. etc. Though ASP is for Windows servers, and I really don't recommend anything other than a Linux distro for a server.
Oh, and make sure you know a server query language of some sort.
That is all.

I've never heard of them before but I can guarantee they are terrible if they offer hosting for $1 per month. Like most things in life when it comes to server hosts you get what you pay for. If you pay next to nothing you will receive next to nothing.
If you want a good host, with knowledgable and helpful staff, that gives you 100% full control over your server you can check out betaForce's VPS selections. They host my VPS and I've had nothing but good experiences.

I agree with everything you said except for that part. Throw PHP in the garbage where it belongs.
