I shave about once a month, because hair grows back faster if you cut it and I'm too lazy to change my daily routine from lie-in-shower-coffee-work.
Once a month? Sheesh, I never generally leave more than a day between shaves unless I specifically want to grow it for a while. I'm always fairly happy knowing that I'm never more than 30 hours away from a reasonably sexy level of facial hair :P

Anyone with Sky One in the UK catch the first half of it today? Despite having bought a tonne of Discworld books recently I haven't got around to reading Hogfather (although I've weathered my way through Mort, Soul Music and the entire Sam Vimes series so the characters aren't too unfamiliar to me) so I have no idea how close to the book they kept.
I read the book a few years ago; from my memory it holds pretty close to them. The only real flaw I'd find is having Nobby as too human looking; I kinda pictured him as a mass of various skin diseases and stuff. Instead they just got a fairly regular guy and gave him some silly teeth, thus totally defusing the joke where Death struggles to identify what genderspecies he is.

As a friend of mine keeps assuring me, Old Discworld books are nothing like New Discworld Books. Pratchett's work gets better as he goes on. So whilst "Thud!" is an excellent little piece of detective fiction ripping both the Da Vinci Code and racial tension stereotypes apart, "The Colour of Magic" is a lame duck in comparison.
I disagree about the original books being much worse. They're very different, certainly. Pratchett's got a good thing going; he's made a series where he isn't simply milking previous successes, because his world is constantly growing and changing, often in response to real-life events, and there's so much possibility in terms of storylines and characters.
But the earlier books; they had a real anarchic appeal. The world seemed pretty much like a snowball of characters, events and thoughts, which suited their themes. The newer books are a lot more ordered, and more dramatic, but that isn't to say that they're necessarily superior.
AG Christmas Contest
So, apparently the deadline's on the 20th. If it is still up, which I haven't really heard much confirmation over.
I kinda assumed it was sometime around the 25th. I can certainly get my game finished by then; I've got one small segment left to do, plus a short introduction and credit sequence, plus the drawings for the secret area, plus a save system which is fairly easy to implement seeing as I've coded it so that any point in the game can be determined from three variables (two for position); loose ends, really.
It's annoying finding out now, though. Any other time I could have just taken a few days off of school to tie it up, but seeing as we break up tomorrow anyway that seems a little pointless
