This is really awesome. Indie game monaco embeds its level data in an image using the bits for RGB color values. This way the only thing you need to do to share a level you made with someone is send them an image of the level!
HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!
We're working hard to give you the best site possible, but we have bills to pay and community support is vital to keep things going and growing. Thank you for considering!

Hi guys and girls of the Flash Forum,
As some of you may know, we had a Writing Contest a short while back and we're now going through the process of judging these entries, with a view to posting the results in the next few weeks.
Speaking to Tom, since we've got money riding on this thing, he has given the go-ahead to set up a contest for Flash Authors, based in the Flash Forum, though I might put it in the collaboration forum, since that might be what you lot think is best.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, I would need some judges to assist me in writing a bit of critique on the flash entries submitted. You might want to double check if they stayed faithful to the script aside from the animation skills displayed, since they are incorporating a piece of music into the piece as well.
I'm offering Tom a chance to do some judging and we'll go from there. If he doesn't want in, I have 4 spots left for judges. Send me a PM, if your interested and reply with your thoughts.

Wait, I'm confused. Are you talking about the writing portion of this month's movie jam? If not, what do you mean by "he has given the go-ahead to set up a contest for Flash Authors"?

From the link to the scripts, the writing has been completed. What this new contest would consist of is someone taking the writing and the music, before making them into some sort of animation, for submission on the Flash Portal.
I'm after animators, people that know their stuff with Flash to help me judge properly and more importantly, feedback on running this thing. Like I said at the start of the January writing contest, I've got ambitious plans for 2011 and I have Tom's blessings!

The iPad is a really nice toy, but I have to agree with Mike. I find it relatively useless besides just being a toy.
Unfortunately I'm not yet an official Mac dev so I can't get the preview of Lion

The only apple product I really like is the macbook pro, especially the really fast new ones, I'm not fond of the iPhone or even the iPod, I'd take a HTC phone and Zune any day.At 3/5/11 08:37 AM, Innermike wrote: Anyone else using Mac OSX Lion?Let me guess, you bought an iPad 2 as well? :|
Thank god. The new Macbook Pros really aren't worth it either. It's probably just me and not really liking laptops anyway.
Can't wait until this tablet phase is over.

I don't think that's gonna happen. I'm gonna buy an iPad 2 as soon it's out and in stock. I have my trusty desktop which I use for work, gonna use the tablet for taking notes during colleges, reading the thousands of scientific papers my university is forcing me to, checking e-mail, webbrowsing etcetera. I agree tablets are pretty useless as a standalone product (unless you're like 90 or never do anything else on your PC than checking e-mail and the like, but they do have their use alongside other products.

Is there any other way of getting it without being an App Dev?

I don't write long notes :)

But you'll be writing many notes.
Pen and paper is better imo.

I can't get the feel for typing a lot on touch screens. I've tried finishing off an essay on the bus on my way to college, using my phone. I got about a paragraph done and thought "nope.".
Yay Sushi Cat 2 finally on NG :3 The score is pretty ridiculous at the moment! Go check it out if you havent played it, its some of my best work :)

It's a great game, Jimp. The transition animations and cute art style really made it for me. The gameplay is quite repetitive, but not to the point that I don't want to play it after a few levels, more so that I can't see myself playing it more than once through. The music also really gave it a nice vibe.
I hate you :'(

Loved it, thought the first was a bit repetitive but something about this one really made it for me. Well done on the score.
Cheers guys! Any regs released anything recently?

Really enjoyed watching it.

Also, Xcode 4 released, anyone else getting it?
how do you download JUST xcode. It only lets me download the whole app dev package, which I'm not really looking for...
I'm programming a game. Don't know how, but it's working.

Any one seen this yet? I've spent most of the afternoon at work checking out these 3 puzzles. Puzzle 2 was straight foreword enough to solve (although I was only working in 2D, I'm gonna re-do it it 3D tomorrow). I'm sure some of you guys could crack them, though I gotta say problem 3 has got me completely stumped!
Facebook Hacker Cup
I saw the pictures of the cup on facebook, and saw them looking at these problems. But it's interesting to see what they were, will look into them.
