It's funny how much changing the contrast and lightness of a background image changes the whole "feel" of a monochrome game. Random musings of an exhausted programmer.

A guide to "The Guy!" warp zone. That's the most help you'll get (save someone doing it for you) I'm afraid.

Definitely confused.

I should really start playing SMB again. I have to complete everything before moving onto the next chapter. All the bandages, all the dark levels. It's frustrating but I hate leaving it uncompleted.

Xbox gamertag - Sam066, if you wanna add me.

I forget if this is where I saw people complaining about xbox live auto renewal but I think so. Part of the problem for them was also trying to remove one card from their account, which is apparently not possible. I happened to have two, one being expired, so I thought I'd be smart and remove the active one. I received a bunch of "IMPORTANT!" emails from microsoft about my card being expired so they can't auto renew and I need to update shit or I'm going to have an interruption of service.

The punchline is I checked my bank account today and turns out they just removed the expired card, added the card I had removed, and charged it. Fuckers didn't even email me.

It's absolutely terrible and you should be ashamed.

Your movie on the other hand was terrific, keep up the good work, Honey.

I got a check worth of $42.82 from the ad revenue sharing thing. Fancy seeing Tom's autograph in it. Now I just gotta figure out how the hell do I redeem the money.

Gotta see if I manage to get another one for next Christmas once I release a game or two.

Is mochimedia.com not working for anybody else? When I try to go to it, Chrome says it can't connect. "down for everybody or just me" says it is up. When I use a proxy I can connect to the site, but I can't connect to it normally. I've tried both Chrome and Firefox, clearing cache... and I was working fine before I went to class ealier today.

Is the website a common ban on campus networks or something? I'm utterly confused as to why I am unable to access it now.

Works fine for me, and by the looks of it, our campus doesn't really have any restrictions with the network.

you're a lucky one. it's like china in here.

What I don't understand is how I was able to connect to the site just fine for the past week or so, but suddenly today, it just will not work.

yeah the novelty wears off after awhile. if i want to enjoy something like a game or actually use useful software on it, i'd rather dedicate time to sitting down at a fully functional laptop or keyboard or drawing utility.

there's always little fun games but canabalt keeps me occupied for the times when i'm absolutely bored enough in public places that i can't just listen to music or something

Apps

There are some useful apps among the thousands of fart machines and "X Jump!" games. Some apps I use regularly include:

"SlowGerman (Podcast App)" - We listen to German podcasts every week in my German class, so this is especially useful when I don't have access to a computer and need to do so, or when I'm in class and we can't access the website because the school blocks it. (The school disapproves of the "Facebook" link on its homepage)

"LEO" - A German <> English Dictionary. Useful in German Class.

"AS3 Reference" - The complete AS3 Documentation. It's useful when I feel like being especially nerdy or when I'm programming without access to Flash itself.

"TCT Lite" - A periodic table. Useful in Chemistry.

"EpicWin" - Allows me to feel accomplished after completing trivial goals that I set for myself.

"More Toast!" - What's wrong with a little virtual toast on the go? stfu it's hilarious

"Convertbot" - Converts currency, measurements, etc.

Android ftw ;)

Can anyone give me more info on Flash and Android? Are they accepting Flash built games and apps in the market now? I've googled some things but can't get a solid answer.

You can release your Flash-built games on Android using adobe AIR (it's free). But they'll need to be optimized to run on small phone screens and processors.

There are a lot of gotchas with varied screen sizes and OS version issues, but it CAN be done!
